When he brought the white in for the petals I was like that's amazing. I didn't expect the painting to turn out like this at all. It's like a picture instead because he captures every detail as if I could see this place in person and it would be just how its painted here. Breathtaking quality in his work and unique critiques he uses. Very well done.
I am 64 Disabled and was bored. Use to paint by number as a kid. Never painted anything since then. Decided a year ago I wanted to try and paint using acrylic and maybe some watercolor. Watching your videos has given me great confidence in using different methods to paint without always using a brush. I’m hooked on it. It’s a very calming way to spend my time. Thanks for your help in expanding my creativity.

I have no artistic gene myself. Couldn't draw a straight line if my life depended on it lol But I do enjoy just watching you paint and the way that the scene changes over time. Very relaxing! Keep up the great work!
Thankfully art has nothing to do with genes, I'm an architecture student and I think I haven't drawn a straight line in my life either, you don't need straight lines or skillful hands, we draw with our minds, so don't be discouraged. As long as you practice and train your mind to observe you'll be getting better and better.
@@ephemeralmiracles Some people are just born with a natural talent for certain things, while other people have to practice and work hard at it for many years and still often won't come close. Passion helps though - enjoy what you do. I much prefer watching other people create art over spending time on it myself.

I like listening to great music, classical piano, to me it is the most beautiful thing I can ever hear, say, Chopin's 20, moonlight or any of the million works by Bach. But I just know I have a lot of difficulty playing the piano and I certainly wasn't born with the music genes, not even to play the most basic stuff. Anyway, that makes me appreciate those who do even more, just like we probably appreciate seeing someone turn drops of monochromatic ink into something so beautiful. Personally, I think in the ideal world each person would do what is done best, and appreciate others who do their thing exceptionally well. And that's how I try to live my life.
This made me want to start painting again! I had an art instructor at my community college who was so critical and way too honest and all I wanted to do was make him proud and he made all his students feel like shit. So I stopped painting. I didn't even finish my final painting for his class because he let no one turn it in late. But I think I'm finally ready to finish it 🥰
It sucks that happened to you. Don’t feel bad it super common for people to discourage you but now you know you just have to do what you like no matter what. I’m exited for you I’m sure it’ll be great.🤗🤗🤗
I can relate a bit but it was highschool and we got a different art teacher that year who was not very open to different art styles she liked realism and horses and was very critical and unhelpful with techniques and I had a friend at the time who could draw better and was nose in the air about it and made fun of your skills which put me off drawing and other art mediums but I have been doodling here and there and recently help my mom with a little beach painting craft she wanted to do and it was relaxing to say the least.
Art you create should make you feel proud. It's all that matters. People will love it or hate it, but that won't change the value of meaning it has for you.

don't ever feel discouraged because of what a teacher tells you. never. no matter who he/she is. you should paint to make yourself proud and relaxed.
