Literally me everytime I’m done watching the new video just so I can prepare myself 😂
To the people confused about Owen not being there the entire time, here are a few possibilities to why they made this version of the performance without him:
1. They needed a clean background for the poof effect later in effects and editing
2. As we know from another bts video of this scene, Madi had to learn the blocking of this performance a few minutes before they started shooting, so maybe this is just more of rehearsal so she could get it right, and since she never physically interacts with Owen during it, there’s no need for him to be there
3. They were probably filming angles in which Owen doesn’t appear
PS: I’m not involved in the show in any way but I’m very passionate about production and making off of visual medias, so those are only theories.

Also this isn’t the one they used in the show because I can see a few differences from this video and the one in the show. Like when Julie and Reggie where in front they never “touched backs” if you know what I mean
Also, it's easier for Charlie and Jeremy to poof in but a bit more difficult to poof Owen in because he has the entire drum set-up which is difficult to move on and off set.

I just want to say thank you for this cast, they are really really special. They have something that is yk really different. Seeing bts is really good and making me see my plans for my future. This cast litterally brings out light, and is very communicated. We want more of that, thank you Paul.

Questioning why Owen wasn’t on drums is so strange.. this was clearly shot to get the empty stage with just Maddison before the phantoms “poof” in from Caleb’s club. Yeah the boys with guitars join her but they can easily jump in, it would take ages to set up drums. Rather than do all this set up just for her speech and one verse/chorus of the song they kept recording probably to do some pick up shots to have a lot recorded for the edits, even if the drums and mic stands aren’t there. Then Owen comes in so that they can get some shots of their final line and the bow.
He was clearly singing his solo when it came to that part too!
Madi's voice and singing is just amazing in general

The harmonies are my favorite!!! I love Charlie’s harmony in the chorus and how it’s pairs with Madison’s! and everyone’s harmonies at the end of the bridge building up to the last chorus! 🤩This song makes me the most emotional. 🥲
