City Prepping, thank you for putting out a video that educates the viewers on how to prepare for potential threats instead of trying to stoke fear in the community. Your time and effort is appreciated.
It may be obvious, but I see all your advice coming down to one more factor: Each prepared person is a tiny cushion against total collapse. The more each person is self sufficient, the less burden there will be on the populace, thereby making all that remains go further.
Prepared equals calm. The wife and i are preparing for awhile now, and the more prepared we get (Chris, you have helped us out a lot with this...honestly thank you), the less anxious we have become.
That is exactly the same for me. Some platforms talk about these stressful times,. My immediate thoughts go to, they must not be prepared enough. Being prepared means that I have done all I can which enables me to let the stress go.
As I’ve always said, our health is our number 1 prep. Without that, everything else will be a struggle. As always, thank you Kris and team for keeping us on point!
And as someone who is disabled, this is my biggest worry. There’s only so much I can do. I also have a 73yr old mother with health issues I’m responsible for helping to looking after.
@@wasntme3651 I have a neurological disorder that flips the pain sensor in my brain to “on” constantly. The slightest touch can feel like I’m being hit w a hammer. Sometimes just the sheets or a breeze over my skin is painful. Theres also this for lack of a better description electric surge that goes through my body that feels like the combination of when your arm is waking up after falling asleep & you hit it, combined with hitting your funny bone. Then I also get burning & full aches. I also have fluid filled sacs pressing on my spinal cord, fibromyalgia, and tendonitis. I take meds for all this which can sometimes be as bad as the diseases. I’ve been this way for a little over 20yrs now, since I was in my late 20’s. In short, I better hope I can bug in.
Just a reminder that we're all watching this stuff on RUclips, if something you have has broken, check here first to see if its something you are capable of doing yourselves. Ive saved a lot of money by doing that. Getting ready to go change the blower fan on my furnace now. The part was 140 bucks, but the furnace company wanted 500 to change it. Thats quite the savings. Dont be intimidated, a lot of things are easier to fix than you think. Thanks for the content Kris. Merry Christmas!!
I hear you. I had a water pipe to my outside faucet burst, called plumber they quoted me 350.00 with a senior discount. I a disabled female did the repair myself and it cost me a whole 45.00!! Of course it took me about ten times longer to do the repair - I was rather proud of myself 😘😘
@chilenejoiner3000 Awesome! Yeah, sometimes, it takes me a couple of tries myself. I told my wife that I should start a RUclips channel about how to do things twice. lol, it is definitely very satisfying, though, when you can do it yourself. Best of luck in the future.
My preps have helped us from several personal disasters. The latest was 3 of the 5 (1 is supposed to be a backup vehicle) vehicles in my driveway broke down around the same time. If that wasn't enough, my washer and vacuum broke at the same time. The cheapest car to repair is up and running now. The washer and dryer, as well as the vacuum have been replaced. I schedule my appointments and errands around my kids' days off or take my husband to work if I want to take my car. I thought it more prudent to restock the pantry before getting the other 2 very expensive vehicle repairs done. Restocking is hurting the pocket as EVERYTHING costs so much more than when I first stocked up.
We have a dishwasher we bought a few years ago that was supposed to be the top of the line, and the price was not cheap. It just died the other day after 2.5 years of use...barely broken in. Beyond frustrating.
I agree! We’ve had a couple of similar issues lately & had to get into what’s left of our emergency fund; & just the restocking of everyday things is going to be strained!
All good advice. I have personally had to dig into my family’s food supply when I was injured at work some years ago. It eased our financial stresses to the point we could survive without missing mortgage payments, etc..
My hubby and his siblings, literally just had a family meeting on who their aging mom will live with all of them have to readjust their life and schedules to be a support system for each other…your life can absolutely change in 24 hours.
Once again Kris informative, well said, calm to the point. Self-reliance & sufficiency is our primary goal. Being able to ride out difficult times not being a burden on others, assisting others survive & thrive icing on the cake. Keep up the good work. Stay Safe & Good Luck
I make it a point to incorporate some physical activity in my daily routine. If it is too cold, windy or rainy to get in some walking around the neighborhood, then I will go to one of the nearby Wal-Mart superstores or a Lowe's or Costco or Sam's Club and walk all the aisles. I know that daily exercise is important for retaining flexibility and balance as we age. It is just too easy to be a couch potato instead of getting out there and exercising. I am also a lot more mindful these days of my food choices. These days, I choose modest size, home-cooked meals and avoid high-sugar, high-starch snacks. If I want a sweet snack or dessert, I will have a Keto bar or candy that has 3 grams or less of carbs. I also avoid alcoholic beverages and only have one serving of coffee per day. Mainly I drink filtered tap water, home-brewed tea and just one can of diet soda per day. And avoiding all that junky snack food and fast food saves money too. Over the years I have taught myself a variety of traditional handicrafts because you never know if someday you will have to make/repair your clothing, make slippers or moccasins or do container gardening to supplement that emergency food storage. I have tested my various grid-down cooking options and proven to myself that I can make decent meals with my food storage ingredients.
This video is exceptional, Kris. Thank you for laying things out so clearly. My struggle at the moment is to inventory and organize my preps so i can see what i have better and what i may still need. But everything takes either time or money or both and i am short on both right now.

Giving us the maybe's and what things look like to you in your opinion is giving us how to think of ways to better prepare.
I would have to say I'm as ready as can be. I think our dollar will completely fall to nothing next year. The entire world is up to their necks in debt and it doesnt look good. Gold and silver will sky rocket. If you have all your preps or at least feel comfortable, then think about buying a little silver. You may not be able to eat it, but you never know what you might need and dont have until you do. Just keep moving forward in your preps. You brought up many good points as always Kris. But the electric grid really throws me. All these new electrical things running on a ancient power grid. Talk about putting the horse before the cart!!! This is just irresponsible. Thanks again as always. 👍
😂😂😂 An old expression. If you put a cart before the horses your not going anywhere. Horses should be in front of cart to pull. Geez! I must be older than I thought! And you are probably younger! 😂👍
Hi @ Mary.. what @ Kristy is rightly trying to tell you is the expression should say “Don’t put your cart before the Horse” .. and you initially have written here “… the horse before the cart”.. // Have a great weekend all 😊
In my prepping group we have a saying,... "It's in the pamphlet." It's kind of a running gag that we have about an imaginary pamphlet titled "Welcome to Earth". The pamphlet addresses everything that can happen from earthquakes and floods to wars and pandemics. Now, the narrative also states that every human on Earth receives a copy at age 12. This part is added to drive the point home that nothing in the pamphlet should come as a surprise to any grown person. Essentially, the "pamphlet" covers all the stuff we should know as responsible adults. No excuses for not reading the pamphlet. Then, as preppers, we study how to deal with what is NOT in the pamphlet. The black swans out of left field so to speak. That's our primary focus. The rest is elementary. So, from me and mine, we bid you all welcome to Earth. Here's your pamphlet! LOL.
All; if you are standing on a train track and the locomotive is barreling towards you, it really doesn’t matter how well you have prepped. Your first prep is to get out of the way of danger, no matter how difficult. I know how difficult this can be as my wife and I left our cozy Happy home in Santan valley, Arizona, and moved to a very small rural town in AZ. Time is running out to make this sort of choice, all I ask is that you look at this choice carefully with a clear mind. God bless and good luck.
Kris, this culture war here in the US is also still growing and it seems that the internal division here in the states is continuing to grow. Adding fuel to this is the political partisanship following these cultural concepts. No matter the outcome, it seems that half of the nation is villainizing the other half. How long will this go on before things start going hot internally?
Less than a year. This nation will be unrecognizable by this time next year. They want a civil war and because the masses have fallen for the propaganda and people are weak minded mob mentality zombies, the satan worshiping leaders will push and probe, much through the media, until they get the results they want. The reason for heavily enforced division is so we don't unify against the government but each other. If we're divided, we cannot all stand against the true perpetrators, the gov
@millsrickman7703 Sure buddy, 🤣🤣 think all is well and that is no risk of open conflict? Well, I hope you are right, but I disagree with you. I am relying on my own observations, not the governments propaganda networks.

Hey CityPrepping. I greatly appreciate all your research and your distribution of information. I pray your kindness comes back to you two fold. Will be looking forward to your future videos :)
Inflation is definitely starting to hit hard here. We've started the hydro gardens indoors for smaller produce to save money because groceries are getting ridiculous. We've also switched to an energy plan that allows us to save by running major appliances in the evening and at night at a much lower rate. Some things we've just decided aren't worth the cost. Things are definitely changing and, you're right, you really need to move into a position where you are better able to adapt with them or things are going to get rough fast. :/
Thanks again Kris. Lots to think about and honestly cause anxiety. Although I want to hear the news of the world and specifically the happenings you present, they do cause considerable anxiety. With that I’m going to use the old term of KISS… Keep It Stupid Simple! Food, water, shelter, protection and community. Focus on those things while letting all the “what ifs” of the world pass by. Currently I’m ordering more heirloom seeds for a spring garden. Cheers
My bf and I bought our seeds already and the plots and green house cover (we live in new England). I always wanted a garden but with rising grocery prices I figured veggies and fruit was a way to cut the budget
I like your channel. But the background music or pinging sound has got to go. It is extremely distracting. Maybe some people don't notice it. I am blind and I can hear it and once I hear it, I can't stop hearing it. Otherwise, I really like your channel.
Ok, it wasn't just me thinking I was hearing things. I have to listen through headphones and I kept taking them off because I thought the pinging sound was outside my headphones. Yes, distracting.
I have become so hearing this for the years. You are right in your assumptions. I done with the the bu.. sh...I am going off. Thank you for your insight.
I've been studying animal husbandry in my spare time. I've been gaining the skills to treat hooves on horses and cattle, identify illnesses in hogs and goats, and I've helped birth a few live stock animals. This is a dirty study, but it's necessary
Certainly the collapse of any / all “Super Powers “ will trigger all of the other side effects you spoke of. I , personally will Prep my Mental Health to weather the inevitable troubles to come! Thanks Kris ☮️& 🌱

Can tell from living off grid Sacrificing a little goes a long way ...we run our 300sr ft tiny home on 3panels 2stanrd lead batteries .little buddy on propane for heat .35 dollar a month .pretty much like an Rv...and we have all the things ....oh yeah wood stove too!.all off grid 😂never worried about the srvices getting crazy over priced or shutting down.....
Chris, please ditch the background pinging sound. It’s distracting from your important words which, on their own, are enough stimulation for our already stretched nervous systems.
I like your channel have done most everything u suggested and did a few of my own things for prepping I agree still have a life and continue living not overwhelm yourself with what's going on in the world have faith in God and yourself u will b ok at the end if your at least prepaid
What a very polite way of getting a point across. It doesn’t bother me at all but I’m all for having everyone get the most out of these important topics without being distracted and irritated by what doesn’t bother me. So hopefully this will change so everyone is 😊
Simply well said, informative, thoughtful & reasonabl. Thanks for always bringing the temperature down notch- as always but also, Personally, I needed that today. Cheers Kriss & Team
❤ Thank you so much. It's a lot. I didn't know but I'll probably run this video a 1000 times but I am trying me and my family. Thanks to you we And so many others, might have a chance.
Mindfulness is fuel for the engine of resilience. This is the absolute baseline for preparedness as an individual. Might be able to ruck 20 miles, have a year of food and be armed to the teeth, but if you emotionally fall apart in the face of adversity, you are a liability to your family and group, not an asset. I cant recommend looking into this strongly enought.
The CMEs from Sun's sunspot 3500 was a direct Earth facing event on Dec1. Not a Carrington Event this time. Prep for the geomagnetic storms that impact Earth!
@@CityPreppingyour first segment is just incorrect. Like said above, inflation is very much down and as you said, gas prices have lowered. Currently, we are seeing the lowest unemployment rate ever. Even Fox has covered this.
It takes more forethought for sure, not to mention $$$. I’m lucky that my son whose ASD stage 2, doesn’t have too many medical needs, but I’m worried about the stressors that would happen if SHTF. He can’t hardly handle losing electricity in a storm.
ASD is a struggle but the happy times I find outweigh the blowouts. I find with my son dealing with things like power outages (loss of his miss Rachel), if I sit at his level and make it a game like let's find or where's the kitty. I try not to feed int his emotional state as much as possible.
For water storage I'd advise getting a pot still. Its the most reliable way to produce your own clean water constantly. Also spirits are an insanely desirable tradeable commodity when everything collapses, it never goes bad, is a sterilizing agent, its full of calories and helps with situational stress caused depression. Since it will obviously be one of the things to become very hard to get after a supply chain crash it becomes one of the best barter items you can have.
What's amazing, for the most part they still have not started moving the electric grid underground; substations, long haul grid utility lines, transformer banks, etc.
The problem i see is you left out item number 3 improvised and expedient construction skills, this is the foundation for your first and second recommendations. Quantity food production is not possible for most people unless they can use locally available materials to construct the supporting structures for food production.
My friends would you consider posting this kind of stuff on Spotify/Apple Podcasts? I want to be able to take this kind of stuff in on a drive rather than having to always watch it on RUclips.
Hi Chris, great video thanks for the info and heads up. I’d like to request if you could due a updated video on get-home-bag or bug-out-bag? Thank you from Canada 🇨🇦
Prevent injury. Protect injury & prepare for injury. Means... careful of body mechanics & if u have leg, knee back brace..then wear it. And if your back goes out....have a plan ..have a cane,,used wheelchair etc.
The more people in a city grows there own food. The more the Karen’s will make more rules. I think quail and rabbits would be easier to hide than chickens. There waste with your mower clippings and fall yard leaves would be great for compost!
I'm looking into this now. A couple of people in my neighborhood tried to do chickens...the busy bodies were on them in no time flat! Wish that wasn't so, but needs must adapt to realities. Quail it's to be!
I'd like to point out that "World Wars" were not called that until long after they both (1 & 2) ended. E.g., WWI was more commonly referred to as, "Te Great War" or "The War to end All Wars" and wasn't known as WW1 until 1920.
The firearm band that the federal government is trying to push right now. And yes I know there's about 4,000 of them. But the one specifically about them trying to ban semi-automatics entirely is going to be a huge battleground issue just in the regards of them threatening to push it through regardless if Congress agrees or not
I’m getting my first gun (a shotgun) within the next month or so. I’m gonna use it primarily for hunting but honestly the way the world is going I probably might need it for other things. pump shoguns are very versatile and deadly.
I'd like to see your sources on how sanctions have "worked" against Russia. From all economic and international trade indicators, the opposite is actually true. When you factor in BRICS and the fact that international oil transactions no longer need to be denominated in US Dollars, and a number of countries like China, Japan and India are getting out of US Treasuries, the US falling from its superpower status is clear. Ray Dalio has published some excellent studies on this subject. One thing is certain, under these conditions, as a superpower falls from its perch, it will initiate wars both large and small.
The Mira safety shirt is trying to capitalize on the Go Jo from the gen x ere. Don't fall for it folks although city prepper has our best interest in heart
Chris I am an occasional listener, so I may have missed it but can you look into what is happening in Panama? Canal drought, national protests that cut supply chains and left people without food, fuel or access to medical care. Things are calmer now but last month they were near the boiling point.
There are N100 masks. They protect the user of the mask not others. Also consider antibiotics for secondary bacterial infections that can result from a primary viral infection. Disposable gloves. Hydrogen peroxide is an excellent sanitizer that does not cause odors and can be wiped off without rinsing.
The video editor should tone back the background music. Its quiet enough but it has harsh tones which makes it hard for some to focus (like me). Just some constructive criticism.
Grocery costs are killing my budget. I used to buy what we want and need to change my ways so I can have more for other expenses, like higher electricity.
A concern of mine, as crazy as it sounds, is that Putin is the more level headed of the Russian voices. It almost seems hes been doing everything he can to not launch while everyone else in the Kremlin are more than ready to press that button. Just a thought though, thanks Kris for another awesome update.
Everyone who thinks Putin should be gone should be very careful what they wish for. Instability in Russia could lead to the power vacuum being filled by someone infinitely more dangerous. Hopefully, he has a succession plan that will be respected.
I’m going to continue prepping and enjoy my life. The 1% is going to do whatever they want to make money. Not playing the political games that keep people blaming and hating each other. No one taking my joy.
Should be a scorcher next summer. Not looking forward to the heat. Gotta keep plugging away at the basics and save for those unexpected expenses. At least inflation is under control. Off to prepare my 6$/lb burger.

Cheers
i thought it was ( Keep It Simple Stupid ) which sounds kinda rude
@@commiesnzombies it is, but in prepping I feel it’s more appropriate the way I wrote it.
My bf and I bought our seeds already and the plots and green house cover (we live in new England). I always wanted a garden but with rising grocery prices I figured veggies and fruit was a way to cut the budget
Have you considered seed saving , a great way of saving money by saving seeds from your best veggies .
Thanks Kris,
Anything is possible right now, groundhog day has ended, be ready.

Seed bank! Seed bank! Seed bank! Gather and store seeds of food you will eat and those that grow well in your zone.
Seed saving is a great way of overcoming shortages , as long as you save seeds from your best veggies .
Heirloom organic is equally important.
Kris I've missed your videos. Working alot . But I'm catching up, thank you very much
I like your channel.
Yes, distracting.
sorry about that. we had background music but it was obviously distracting.
@@CityPrepping I heard no background music or "pinging"! Guess having a crappy phone comes in handy occaisionally!
Yes, it’s usually fine, but this one was too loud/dominant on the chimes.
So good to hear your take brother.
Good evening from Syracuse NY brother thank you for sharing your thoughts etc.
Very well done video. Thank you for everything you do for us all.

Agreed it was driving me insane the whole video
I don't hear it.
I like your channel have done most everything u suggested and did a few of my own things for prepping I agree still have a life and continue living not overwhelm yourself with what's going on in the world have faith in God and yourself u will b ok at the end if your at least prepaid
I just bought an echo flow 2000 and solar panels. I am in Florida and one never knows about what will happen to the electric grid.
Very good advice and I totally agree with your knowledge and factual analysis of t by e World around us. Thanks for spreading the word.
A lot of comments about the distracting pinging sound during your video. Please consider omitting it in future videos.
What a very polite way of getting a point across. It doesn’t bother me at all but I’m all for having everyone get the most out of these important topics without being distracted and irritated by what doesn’t bother me. So hopefully this will change so everyone is 😊

It won't, prepare accordingly.
Overall US inflation was 3.2% last month, significantly better than where it was. Hopefully, it gets back under 2% soon.

🎉New Year goal!🎊
Thank you Kris!
I’m definitely concerned about several things but having a non verbal visually impaired child makes figuring our preps and the budget for them tough.
you got this! stay encouraged!
It truly is a struggle preparing with a nonverbal child. I have an autistic 3 year old child medical never stops
Thank you for sharing.

It can also work as a disinfectant for wounds and other stuff like that.
Please don’t use liquor type alcohol, there is a large amount of sugar that will cause infection.
…and it kills the cells trying to heal around the injury.
Boy will they be dissapointed if they come here looking for spirits. I have 90% alcohol for fuel and sterilization but you sure can't drink it.
Thank you for sharing. Very informative as always. I missed the initial signup and would have payed it in full. Hope it opens again

I listen to RUclips on my phone while in the car. Connect the phone to your car stereo system.
I set a play list of videos I want to listen to and just set it to play. Generally, you don't have to see the videos to take them in.
Thanks CP! We appreciate all you do!

Prevent injury. Protect injury & prepare for injury. Means... careful of body mechanics & if u have leg, knee back brace..then wear it. And if your back goes out....have a plan ..have a cane,,used wheelchair etc.
Dont forget food banks. Go weekly and save the nonparishables. Fast easy free way to load up/store extra food for preps.
Thank you
Thank you brother.
I'd like to point out that "World Wars" were not called that until long after they both (1 & 2) ended. E.g., WWI was more commonly referred to as, "Te Great War" or "The War to end All Wars" and wasn't known as WW1 until 1920.
thank you for sharing that
The firearm band that the federal government is trying to push right now. And yes I know there's about 4,000 of them. But the one specifically about them trying to ban semi-automatics entirely is going to be a huge battleground issue just in the regards of them threatening to push it through regardless if Congress agrees or not

A concern of mine, as crazy as it sounds, is that Putin is the more level headed of the Russian voices. It almost seems hes been doing everything he can to not launch while everyone else in the Kremlin are more than ready to press that button. Just a thought though, thanks Kris for another awesome update.
From everything I've seen and read from experts on the subject, this is a legitimate concern unfortunately!
Everyone who thinks Putin should be gone should be very careful what they wish for. Instability in Russia could lead to the power vacuum being filled by someone infinitely more dangerous. Hopefully, he has a succession plan that will be respected.
Your own government is the biggest threat. It's their actions and allegiances that will weaken, break and cause what follows.
you're not wrong. putin is considered the most reserved of those around him.
Agreed. The rejection of the Minsk Agreement by NATO was ludicrous. Putin issued many warnings before his invasion.
