Hi Tiho, Thanks for taking the time and presenting these videos and important information on different brands of Keyboards. Experience is everything in life and only gained by doing and researching. You remind me of that car mechanic Scotty with his wealth of knowledge gained over years of working on different products. I am thinking of new Keyboard purchase tossing up whether to buy BD9 Ketron or wait for new Korg Pa series to be released. Interesting to see what you and others think. Cheers Thanks Les.
Great video, this problem with lazy bass/guitar has driven me nuts. Do you have to change Bass to Live Bass and Chord-Live Guitar to Retrigger on every style? Or can you do it once, and save it for all of them?
Hi Mr Tiho. Congrat for this video, very easy to understand. I use a SD9, when i play on it the volume fades in and out when i don't want it to. The volume gets very silent and i have to stop playing. Have you maybe a sulution to get rid of this problem. This is a problem that started a while ago.
What you mean out of syncro? Not all the details of the Live Bass or Rerigger Bass modes were mentioned in this video. Live Bass and Retrigger Bass have the purpose of altering the automatic bass programmed in the styles, not of correcting an issue that SD9-90-60 has with regard to bass accompaniment. Furthermore the use of these modes, in many styles, shortens and cuts notes of the automatic bass.
It is nice to know what it mean in manual. But we know from experience there are many things that works on a way that is not explained in the manual. So, watch video, try to play and listen than you will know what I am talking about. In reality when we change chords by the time we are playing as I showed Bass is coming late and behaving lazy in chord progression, but when we use Live bass function than it works much better in chord progression. Even if that not was purpose of that function in reality it works and it is behaving in reality like it should be and it is expected. I want bass to be on the time heard when I change chord. When I activate Live bass function I am getting that result and I actually do not care what is in manual. Yes we should read manual to know functions, but without exploring wee will never relay know what we can do with an instrument. Try to explore your keyboard and you will find much more functionality then you can find in manual. Manual is starting point to the journey.
@@Tiho2012 I have to tell you something you don't know. Two years ago I told Ketron what you highlighted now in this video. Ketron first improved the Live bass function and then added Retrigger bass. So do you think I have to watch your video to understand what you're talking about? The arrangers that the ketron produced before the audya came out had the only function (Retrigger and mode) but even without Retrigger the bass follows the chords perfectly. I have an XD9 and an XD3 and I can prove it. In the SD9-90-60 livebass and retriggerbass while on the one hand they solve the problem of synchro with chords, on the other they create other problems as I explained before, shorten, cut, and modify the automatic bass program in the style. I'll make a video on this, then I'll send you the link.
@@AEGeasytutorial I would like that link to your video as well :-) Do you also have an answer how I can fix "lazy" Live guitar when I choose in Launchpad "Live Guitar-Electric-5th_Mute_1" ? (Or any other Live Guitar....) The problem is for me fixed with Tiho's video (Style-View-Chord_Live guitar to RETRIGGER), (Style-View-Bass- LIVE BASS) and (Style-Launchpad-Edit Pad-Retr to ON) for all other instruments, but NOT for Live Guitar.....Thanks :-) And, by "lazy" guitar I mean that the guitarchord does not change chord excatly when I change it, but a little bit later - which I do not like at all...
It is not necessary to do for all tracks that are not obviously out of synchro. I want that my keyboard sound like live band where is not everything 100% synchronized. We are human and not machines and I like to get filling that something natural is happening. In this case what has to be on the time and synchronized it will be, but other part instead of mechanical following will be on the time in live human natural kind of synchro effect.

Hello Tiho... First, I congratulate you and I thank you for everything you do for us in these video tutorials, it's a great job... Secondly, I congratulate you and I thank you for your sincerity, for your fairness, and for your equidistance, with whom you present and compare these wonderful musical instruments... My question for you is : Which of these keyboard arrangers has the best “LIVE GUITAR MODE” and the best “LIVE BASS MODE” ? Ketron ? Korg ? Or Yamaha ? (And please make a comparative video about this)
hi I see you connect your SD90 with Genos as midi trigger? so can you live perform by switch back and forth between 2 or just use Genos as midi trigger.
Genos does not have the possibility to control Ketron with more functions. The Korg PA4 has this possibility, which is a much more powerful MIDI controller than Genos, because then combinations of Korg and Ketron can be performed and also saved in a songbook or as a Style. That's why you can take Genos only as a trigger, but for more serious control you need a MIDI controller or Korg PA3/4/5.
Is the Big Band 4 in SD 90 also wrong? In SD 40 the variations 3 and 4 contains a drum loop that was bad edited, one bar only, bad looped and bar 8 has a little variation. The cymbals release phase is cutted.
What about Live Guitar in Launchpad? With Piano and other "none-live-instruments" in Launchpad I can go to "Edit pad" and then " Retr ON" to fix lazy keyboard. But I cant fix Live Guitar in Launchpad. Any idea how to fix this?
@@Tiho2012 I am doing excactly as you explain, but if I choose Live Guitar-Electric-5th_Mute_1 in Launchpad after I have change Style-Chord-Live Guitar to Retrigger, then I still have a "lazy" guitar....Have you tried it?
Wov. I think I found the problem. When I choose Style-Live Modeling-and then change to a Live Guitar(after changed Chord-Live Guitar to Retrigger), then it works! No latency or lazy keyboard with the live guitar. BUT, if I go to Launchpad and then select a Live Guitar, then the lazy keyboard is back.....Does that make any sense??
I am talking about style mode and Live Modeling, I did not work with Launch Pad. Somehow Launch Pad does not fit in my needs and I do not use it yet. Live Guitars in Live Modeling do not work now but in future will maybe work. Idea is there but it is still not in function. I perform mostly as a one man band and I use Styles, Reg Memory/Songbook and Live Modeling. I have SD90 and I have to control it with a MIDI controller and I can control all function that I am using. Thank you Anders for sharing your experience about this feature.
Fantastic video! Thanks Tiho
Tiho - you are a star, I am so grateful for your tutorial vids
Glad you like them!
Great finds and tutorial! Thanks

It could be related to external controller or it could be problem with fader/hardware
@@Tiho2012 Thank you verymuch, i think i will have to take the SD9 back to the store.

Yes you can, It is there in video explained. Go to Style view/chord change Live Guitar Normal to Retrigger
