What truly astonishes me these days is witnessing a television series that seamlessly blends practical effects and visual effects. In an era where CGI dominates, it's remarkable to encounter a production that harks back to the days of authentic, in-camera craftsmanship, reminiscent of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise or a production from post 2000s. The tangible, genuine elements on display are a breath of fresh air, and the entire crew deserves heartfelt applause for crafting something truly exceptional. Cheers to their outstanding work! 👏👏👏

We need to bring back behind the scenes and “special features” for shows and movies. One of the reasons why I absolutely loved the old LOTR and Harry Potter movies were because of the special behind the scenes footage. It makes it so much more special ❤️
I have to say that the stunts really made the show. Their personalities truly shine through when they are fighting. I hope Netflix (and other studios) start valuing their writers more and pay them to be on set to make last minute changes to dialogue and such (as was the norm until very recently). I feel that unintuitive placeholder dialogue is the biggest concern in this series (and frankly in most movies and shows in recent memory) and the only way to solve it is to have writers on set. This problem seems to be so common now that it feels like a lot of people have stopped noticing it altogether. I wish that lines like "well that just happened" and "or we could do that" would disappear completely. The thing is, this time around many people went into the series with no or low expectations and were surprised by the sheer dedication of the cast and crew. Many people experienced the story for the first time and were drawn in by a unique experience because the showrunners committed to being as faithful to the manga as they could. For season 2, all of these people will go into the series with a lot of expectations, and in that moment the writing would have to do the heavy lifting because the "season 1 of a brand-new show" novelty would have worn off. Even all the hard work of the cast and crew will go to waste if the writing is subpar. I hope that all this gets resolved and the writers get their dues as well as their earlier responsibilities back by the time season 2 is started with. One Piece, as a story, deserves only the best. In fact, the socio-political subtext of the story will 'need' a lot of competent writers to be properly adapted, be it in script or dialogue.
i'm in tears from how happy i am that they cast al of these amazing people and how dedicated they are into their roles. it's just like they came out right from the manga! thank you so much oda for choosing them and also netflix for giving this masterpiece live action to us.
YESSSS the fight scenes in OPLA are such a standout among tv fights bc you don’t have to cut away every half second to avoid the stunt actor’s face since the actual actors can actually fight! Mackenyu especially is such an incredible swordsman who is clearly so comfortable with those swords, the way he struts and slices as he goes, you can see how natural an extension of himself those swords are, just like with Zoro! That’s why I say he really is like the real Roronoa Zoro got plucked off the page and brought into real life thanks to Mackenyu!
The fight choreo was definitely a highlight, especially for Zoro, which felt like a given since it's a real fighting style just more over the top with 3 swords LOL
If there is one thing they absolutely nailed for me, and that is the fight scenes. I love it when they translate anime style fighting into live action and I really hope they manage to capture the speed in later seasons. Kuro had some signs of that kind of speed and I am really excited to see how they do Luffy Gear 2 when that story arc happens.
These casts deserve the recognition and applause they are getting. You can see how hard they worked for their roles. From the main cast to the supporting cast. Kudos also to the director and stunt coordinator, the fighting scenes are not just about the actors but how the camera angled their moves. And the choreography is muahh---a chef's kiss. I'm soooo happy we're getting Behind the scenes! Would love a full length documentary explaining all the outfit choices. Buggy's shoes look really cool in a picture but we don't really get to see the detail in the show. So curious to find out more about the texture/fabric selections and also the process for the Fishmen 😃 Or to see footage of how the amazing set builders built the ships/ Baratie etc. The interior design...
Never felt like waching a full ep of the anime or read an entire chp... but the serie is trully wonderful. Its part of the "live action done right" circle
It was clear and it's been made crystally clear that there's the passion to bring One Piece to life not only cause of the dedication of the team and the actors doing as much as they can - but also knowing how to translate their characters INTO the action to move the STORY along first and foremost! This is the show to break the curse of live action adaptations and an excellently refreshing high bar that I hope the second season will follow. Please, make another season, bring more of this world to life and keep up the unbelievablly stellar work :)
Seeing this behind the scenes content solidifies what I've already been feeling: this show works because even though it's a live action adaption of a popular anime; it's not a cash grab, it's a passion project.
I think the LA's success is a testament to how great One Piece is. You could tell that everyone worked very hard to make it as good as possible, because they care so much about the source material.
Bravo to all. I went from non One Piece fan to being One Piece fan. I know people are like more more more...I say keep it as is. 8 episodes per season and really focus on what you want on screen because at some point fights are really gonna start becoming crazy...I mean crazy to pull off. Respect to actors,crew,writers..to everyone on show.
I see why Inaki cried when he reacted to the trailer. Certainly it is not an easy task to bring one piece world alive. While it is not perfect, the story is delivered quite well done. I'm glad I give it a chance despite the prejudice against live action movie. Thanks and kudos to all of you who make amazing edits of the movie. Because of you I'm willing to watch the movie without having to compare it with the anime or manga, but just try to enjoy our favorite characters brought to life
I used to secretly watch "One Piece" when it would air on Toonami or even Adult Swim in the early 2000s. I was a kid and becoming a teenager around that time. Whenever I would stay overnight at my grandmother's house on weekends, I'd wait until everyone was asleep and then watch "One Piece" in the guest room. If that wasn't on, then I'd settle for "Sailor Moon" or "InuYasha". Watching "One Piece", though, really lit up my imagination and always had me wondering what was next. I lost interest in the show after Tony Tony Chopper joined the crew, and I completely withdrew from manga and anime for over a decade. I only got back into both thanks to my now-former boyfriend, and I had so much catching up to do. Seeing Netflix make an adaptation of the show had me skeptical, but seeing the cast be so dedicated is really bringing my hopes up. To see the original five brings back all the nostalgia growing up on this show. Fingers crossed that a second season will be real. Oh, and aside from some more behind-the-scenes footage, can we also get outtakes? It looks like the cast had fun and there had to have been hilarious bloopers.
I am sincerely grateful to their dedication in bringing the best effect as anime as possible by spending lots of time, really being the superhero that we all loved in anime, Looking forward to all the epic fights with crocodile, the god on skypea, cp9, paramount war, fishman island, whole cake island, against kaido🔥
8-10 hour training a day just to be able to represent a character perfectly and kick some people in the head. now that's dedication I can hella appreciate. Great job to Taz and all the other actors making these characters come alive!

@@NachoRuns i am guessing he is refering to a really old controversy which I personally believe is pointless as it has no impact on the story. So anyways I am assuming thats what the person meant cuz I did see some people on X arguing about robins race in Live Action (I may be wrong about the particular comment though)
@@prEROMsanthe tan skin Robin was an animation error on Toei’s part. Robin was never intended to be tan skinned that’s why they fixed her post timeskip. The actors doing their own stunts really adds to the viewing experience
The casting ❤❤❤ i almost cant believe it they nailed every single character and they all work so hard rly cool to see i hope this show goes on for a lot of seasons and we need more episodes per season too 😊
Such a Good Show. I Honestly Didn’t Expect it to be a Good Show.❤️
Its just the introduction. Real stuff hapoens after
I'm soooo happy we're getting Behind the scenes!
Please Netflix renew the show for the second season. It was the best show you had since Dark
Never felt like waching a full ep of the anime or read an entire chp... but the serie is trully wonderful. Its part of the "live action done right" circle
It's awesome to see this dedication and love! Waiting for Season 2!
The whole team behind this live action is awesome. You guys don't know how happy you made all the fans
the dedication is just outstanding
Because of you I'm willing to watch the movie without having to compare it with the anime or manga, but just try to enjoy our favorite characters brought to life
The hard work really shows! The fight scenes were amazing!
スタントの皆さん、役者の皆さん、スタッフの皆さんに感謝。
3:19 And we can’t wait to see ! ❤️
I was the only one here thinking this SHOULD have been more longer like i can watch their behind the scenes for hoursssssssssss thy are so funny fully into character and they chose the best out of besttttttt👌👌👌👌❤️❤️❤️❤️
Damn Sanji's style in real life is spectacular
Big respect to you guys. Good job. Amazing
This show is oozing with energy. Enjoyed every bit of it.
Yeah mackenyu, our attention to detail is so great we saw your wado ichimonji fold into two😭
I want see Robin in the next seson 😭
I'm so worried about this, considering this is netflix.
@@GeorgeSavvidhswhat do you mean?
@@NachoRuns i am guessing he is refering to a really old controversy which I personally believe is pointless as it has no impact on the story. So anyways the issue was that pre time skip robin looked a bit tan but in all of the recent arcs her skin tone is completely different which makes some people mad (Again i personally think its a pointless debate).
We could just say Robin staying all those years in Alabasta made her tan and when she left she got her real skin color back. It’s a bit of a stretch but it is what it is. Anyways point is Robin was never tan.
it gonna be long
She is such a perfect Nami!
Oh that looks so much fun! Especially zoro actor imagine getting to fight with three swords in real life
Honest opinion the fact that these actors took the time to learn these incredible skills is so amazing. The camera can stay on them rather than having to cut constantly and it makes viewing so much better
I want to see in season 2 Sanji using his technique, were he stands on hands and spin legs in split... That would be so cool
Just finished season 1 !! all i can say.. damn!!!!!!! i could not ask for more!! they tried and they succed season 1!! all the hard work and dedication,....good job!!
Not gonna lie, I enjoyed Sanji's fights the most, even above Zoro and Zoro was amazing!
I'd like to thank the actors and stunt actors for working so hard on this.💗
I think Sanji fights had too much cut. Taz definitely did his parts though.
Truly Amazing... hats of for all the Cast.. Theyre Perfect
this is the answer for people who asking "why luffy(OPLA) doesnt wore sandals"
really enjoyed the live action adaptation, never thought i’d say that about a live action, amazing job
i genuinely love them so much as a team t____t
Fun Fact: This is the 4th live action anime adaption that Mackenyu has starred in. He played Arata in Chihayafuru, Okuyasu in the Jojo DIU live action adaptation, and Enishi in Rurouni Kenshin: The Final.
Let them cook! Excited for Season 2!
