correct on everything. this is an old video.. ended up NOT moving anything.. left radar bone stock position. then shaved about 1/4" off the BOTTOM of the square of the hole, to get just a little more visibility.. never got a light again.. BUT I bet I didnt even have to file that part... i bet it would have worked anyway.. many people don't move anything.. and it just works..

like vinyl? ya, its one idea. i have bveen putting it off.. cuz that wont stick at all.. but maybe if i JUST do the flat front part.. it may work.. the thing is.. vinyl does NOT stick to aluminum well..
no.. but watch out.. i got a light 2-3 weeks later.. eventually put my stock grill back on and paid $450 to have it reset. The BEST luck people have is not moving the radar AT ALL.. if the grill will fit on..

Do you know if i would get any lights on the dash, by changing my oem grill with acc to a oem black optics version with acc, also do you have any recommendations when changing the grill so i wont get any check engine lights?
Hello, I have the same problem today, the front sensors are a bit too low like yours with the rs3 grid. Do you have an error on your S3 now / is everything working correctly having put it in the middle?
@@LastHumansGarage Ah ok I see ..., my mecanics have putting the camera on the middle last evening, but I don't have any news about if it's working or not
Last feedback, my mecanics created a custom mount this morning, fixing the sensor right in the middle of the hole at a 0° angle (they checked with lasers etc.). After starting the car several times in different time frames + passing the OBD case 2 times -> 0 problems / alerts 🎊 We also wet the front grill and the front sensor more or less hard, no problem. Then I did a road test just before + a freeway test and the ACC works well, the car sees others cars and brakes well depending on distance, the line assist works and I'm sure the pre-sense will work too, but it's dangerous to test it. After everything I've seen on the internet, I think I'm very lucky guys ! To be seen in the coming days and weeks !
Yeah I’m going to get the eBay grille with the smaller bottom trim and larger cutout after seeing your experiences with it. Yours definitely looks better than eBay with the tighter ACC/ pre sense cutout hole, but I don’t want to risk the dash light. It seems the lower trim being thicker or taller to fit the Quattro letters is what causes the clearance issues on the A3/S3 radar. Still, looks fantastic! Thank you for such an insightful and in depth video
ahh i dont think the hole is the issue but good luck. the stock placement is too far forward with the new grill. thats why you have to use the adapter. and moving it.. is what breaks it.

When your not putting the bracket, did the ACC worked with the rs grill ? did you just want it to be centered this is why you purchased the bracket?

dont move the radar period. some people cover it with the new grill and it still works fine.
the one im getting shows 70% and states it works. so dont use bracket at all? only appearance looks just a little off?

no, as long as you get same year for same year, grill would fit. but aftermarket... who knows if the radar hole would be correct..
It takes two or three key cycles to throw an error sometimes. If you make it three days normal driving with no error buy a lotto ticket.
ill keep my fingers crossed, im feeling lucky. last time this happened it was instant.
hope i get lucky Bossman
