My family and I are so grateful that I get to do this.
Oh man. This is the “bad lip reading” of Star Wars we needed.
I am always amazed at your ability to learn new software and make professional output with it. Not just anybody can do this, or would have the patience and perseverance.
This was a fun skit!
_(Boba slowly points gun... Thermal detonator says no... Boba slowly puts gun away)_
Loved the base in Jabba's voice and I also liked how C3P0 sounded like GLaDOS. That's some powerful sound gear.
I love that you not only show the fruits of your labors but let us go along the journey and share in the lessons learned.
Yo this is incredible. Never expected this type of content on this channel but nice job Crafsman
I really enjoyed the Star wars opening, but the behind the scenes section is amazing. I like seeing how you did it. I just know you're encouraging us all to give things a test run. LOL
I remember Crafsman talking about getting voice actors for his Lego opus. Does this mean he's gone rogue?
:D It DOES mean I can do waaay more voices than before. But, to be honest, there are still plenty of vocal things / accents I just CANNOT do.
I still have voice actors in mind for that (and even have a script! :D), buuut......... here's the deal on that: DISNEY.
Now, by my understanding of the law I'm technically covered under fair use to do a parody like this. (Set in a LEGO Star Wars universe, the story involves this everyday mechanic replacing his welding mask with a used Mandalorian helmet. As soon as he puts it on, he gets hit up at every turn to go on fetch quests. LOL. Lots more to it, and totally fleshed-out characters... silly dialog, etc...) BUT I've been warned of the possibility that I could go through the work only to have 100% of the video claimed by Disney. (I'm reading it's significantly more difficult under Disney than it was when strictly Lucasfilm. They seemed more open to fanfilm and parody then.)
Sorry for the long comment, but you're an "OG" as the kids say, and I wanted to give you the scoop on that whole situation.
P.S. I may just post the "LEGO MANDO" script on Patreon if nothing comes of this. (I was going to just switch the "universe" to LEGO Classic Space instead of Star Wars, but the entire gag is lost then. :/ )
I love how you uncover the hidden hilarity in Star Trek!
The easy he made data "pfstt" was hilarious!
Oh man, this couldn't have come at a better time. I just started doing short stories for my diorama builds and I was doing all of the vocal effects manually in Audacity. This would save an incredible amount of time! Thanks Crafsman!
I still love getting to see your production process videos, I might be a long way off from that level of production but it's still inspiring :) I finally uploaded my first ever RUclips video this past weekend and my channel wouldn't exist without yours (or Bill Making Stuff, Dan Does, Studson, North of the Border, Cajun Craftastrophe....the whole family) (I'm not saying go watch it now, the video's buggy so I'm working on fixing and reuploading!)
I enjoyed your first build video, and am also now a subscriber! :D (Also glad I caught this comment! It hurts to only happen to run across a comment like this three years later. :/)
Let you a comment over there with more info, but wanted to thank you for your kind comment, and for sharing your work! :)
Too many times when looking for how to do something I describe what I’m looking for and can’t find anything helpful.
Your video about vocal manipulation contains many terms that help us find things.
Additionally, you tell about adding in some bass and room ambience. Also very helpful.
This is why I LIKE your content. Thanks!
That was so amazing! Thank you for sharing your imagination and skills with all of us Crafsman :)
Thanks, again, Crafsman! I've spent the last few months working with Reaper, also, but hadn't thought much about the fun things one could do with something like Vocalsynth. It's a great time to be alive, with so many cool things to learn about.
I'll don't see myself venturing into this sound arena, but I sure appreciate seeing how you put things together. That alone is inspiring. I don't cook but if you started making cooking videos I'm sure I'd watch them, too. I really enjoy your videos. Thanks
Snaaaap! Hahaha! This is great Crafsman. Excellent editing and phenomenal sound work! This is so funny and I love how in depth you are about... well, everything. Killer, killer, killer!!!
Subtitles for 0:26: "I would like to play fetch with my space dog. He is very fond of this metal ball!"
HILARIOUS! Craftsman never ceases to amaze!
The thing I love the most about your channel is you! The thing I love second-most about your channel is the huge variety of crafty stuff you do. You are the most talented sock puppet I have ever seen! Thanks for all of the lessons on video...music...spoon rings...action figures...animation...photo transfer...sound effects and making something out of nothing. You're a nut!
Even without a strong narrative in this episode, it was a pleasant stroll through the processes.
My favorite thing about your sci-fi themed episodes is the feigned confusion over Star Trek vs. Star Wars. Makes me crack a smile every time. Thanks, CrafsMan!
I caught the reference to Cajun Craftastrophe. Thanks for introducing me to that channel, his quality of work is phenomenal and he still does not have enough subscribers.
Ohhhh, I agree with you - he is criminally underappreciated! It's extra painful when you see how much he puts into his edits and extra fun side-sequences and all.
Thank you for supporting him! I know he appreciates it! I do too!
You are a true artist and an inspiration, your videos bring endless joy and warmth, thank you crafsman.
Bro, your audio is always top notch and now we get a glimpse behind the curtain and can see why!
C3PO sounds like one of the greatest villains in the world of videogames: GlaDOS, from the game Portal.
We do what we must, because we can.
You really nailed the Bad Lip Reading vibe, which is one of my favorites.
We need more of this!
Your Fred’s lightsaber video has easily been the most quoted dialogue in our house for at least a year!😂
I really enjoyed this, Crafsman, don't you worry about that! The fiddling and playing with different tools is one of the reasons I like your videos so much, they don't all need to have a throughline (at least for me)
Very inspiring! Makes me want to step up my stop motion game. You never do anything half way. I love it.
CrafsMan, I just want to express my sincere gratitude for your work being a light that truly helped me through the pandemic. We have a lot in common and your work was and remains to be valuable to me. Everything in my statement here is woefully understated.
I owe you and am pleased about that fact.
Keep Steady Craftin'! Please.
Wow Crafsman!! I got locked outta my Google & haven't seen you in a minute! I am GREATLY IMPRESSED!! AS USUAL!! You are certainly living your best life! You have learned more in the 4 years I've known you... Than I have in 10!! I'm ashamed of myself. You make me want to try harder. Thank U!❣️🌈✨
dear crafman, your youtube channel is by far the best, most entertaining, creative and interesting ive come across. each video adds a depth of joy to my life, and you are a fantastic source of information, ive learned so much from your videos. please never stop craftin!
Sound mixing is an exciting and endlessly versatile craft! Thanks for showing the possibilities, CrafsMan!
So great to have you back! Bravo 👏
Thank you so much!
The Star Wars remake-part was hilariously awsome 😅
And I kinda liked the machine gun sound at 4:15 too 🎃 well, some guys have guns on their trees, others have woodpeckers 😎
Craftsman, though it might not be marvel stuff, your work is still really impressive to me. Nothing but love man!
Great work Crafsman! Really a fantastic production, especially for a 1 man effort. I’ve done a lot of lip-syncing by hand (2D and 3D) and agree, the automation still isn’t quite there yet, but I do use Character Animator to lay down a baseline phoneme track and then fix by hand afterwards. Same result as by hand but cuts out a lot of needless tedium.
Oh you just had to slip in that Star Trek jab, you are a funny man, CrafsMan. Learned a lot, always do, thank you.
That list of Patreon folks is heartwarming to see.
It's something I'll never get over, the fact that I *get* to do these things I enjoy, and that people out there are willing to help support that.
To me it's a major blessing, and I'm so grateful. Thank you so much for watching!
LOL! MANNNN, I *just* got the joke with your name! Oh man... LOL! Very nice, sir. :)
@@TheCrafsMan You're one of a kind 😍
This is amazing. Thank you for bringing this into the world!! 😁
The worldizing you mentioned was a revelation for me. im def using this technique.
So glad to read this! Any time I can share some new lil technique, that's a big deal. Because I know how I felt when discovering these things.
Oh, and mannnnnn have fun with it. Honestly my little shop isn't an ideal acoustic space - sorta boxy/boomy. Where this technique really shines is in BIIIG cavernous spaces, as you can imagine. Really neat!
OH, and P.S.: Look into Impulse Response Files if you haven't already. It's a sorta similar deal of introducing that extra "sound cloud" or color to the mix, but this is even used model the sound of vintage guitar amps and such. All neat tricks you may enjoy! :) Thanks for watching!
How exciting! That Kylo Ren synth was spot on as far as I'm concerned. Looks like some really incredible software! Thanks for sharing your experiences with it!
I hope in the extended version Jabba the Hutt teases Boushh about having gotten its thermal dancenator at Fred’s Dollar Store.
Oh man..........
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYY did I not think of something like this?!? LOL!
Love watching you piecing it all together :)
Love the talk box cut scene haha spit everywhere! Great video technology is crazy great tool!
N8DAWG! :D Thanks, buddy! Yeah, this is for real a crazy phenomenal plugin. They sent it to me for review, and naturally we want to say kind things while still being honest about performance... and this one honestly really does perform well. And I feel like some of it is sorta lost on me, at least on the musical side, because there's so much capability there for wild harmonic stuff that I'll probably never use. Just sci-fi voices are enough to keep me entertained. :)
What are you working on these days?!? (And are you still using the VHS/floppy camera? LOL!)
@@TheCrafsMan I completely agree and appreciate your honesty while reviewing. I’ve been working on some stop motion stuff and some exciting news hopefully soon!
That floppy camera hasn’t disappointed me yet haha!
I enjoyed this immensely. It's like a glimpse into your notebook.
We absolutely LOVE your show and appreciate your life views! You keep going and thank you for being You!
Awesome video as always. Your content is exactly what I would probably do myself and it makes me feel a kind of kinship, like we would have been best friends growing up.
Chewie whining like a pup had me on the floor lol
Your animated bug came out beautifully! You should check out LittleAlterBoy's formant change. Another great voice tool for your arsenal. Watch the Jamie Lidell Soundtoy video.
This is really cool. Thanks for sharing your hard work and creativity like this. I hope you will find the perfect niche for your hard work and talents and interests and have good success with this.
Fantastic behind the shed explanations!!!!! How you find the time man IDK but I love what you do!! Still got MAD LOVE for the Skywalker/Vader Fred's Dollar Store video!!!! Caught you on another feed showing a drive by past Fred's and I ended up having to clean up moderately creamed coffee off my desk cause I almost aspirated all that when the store showed up in that shot!🤣🤣🤣
Oh mannnnn, LOL! Thank you so much for this comment! It was a joy to read this, believe me! :)
And I forgot about that lil video! (If it's the one I'm thinking, with "Nothing Compares 2 U" playing in the background? LOL! From back when Fred's was closing.)
Thank you for the kind words, and for watching. This was a super nice comment right here. :)
I watched regularly from the shadows and "favorite" or even save some to re-watch. Very often your channel is just what I need!
Awesome dude. That is great. Stay steady!
Very cool behind the scenes, thanks Crafsman
Another blockbuster hit. Keep up the hilarious work. And as always your videos are very informative.
Coming back to this again because I really love it!!
LOVED IT CRAFSMAN!!!!!
Yeah Boi!! Love you Crafsman 💚
Fascinating. Brilliant work, there, too. Thank you for sharing!
Frame by frame? You're a hero.
This is so great!
Thanks for sharing this with us.
Thank YOU for watching! So glad you enjoyed it!
Love it :)
Keep up the great work. Behind the scenes stuff always gets me motivated, I'm guessing you're the same :)
So good laughed all the way through the staring movie.
Cheesy, cheesy, cheesy!
Appreciate you showing your working with this.
Excellent info.
Crafsman, you're an inspiration. Even without the amazing content, it's just good to hear your voice.
You are so good at everything you do man! Insane talent!
Informative and entertaining!
I miss your regular videos, but this is great too!
Craftsman, master at crafts!
0:57 SNAP!
I heartily approve!
You could probably save yourself a good deal of time creating the room effect by using the Convolution Reverb / Impulse Response feature built into ReaVerb. The quick explanation is you use a recording of something like a clap in the room you want to simulate to tell ReaVerb what to sound like. Once you have the Impulse file (for say your main work space in the studio) you can use that Impulse file over and over without needing to re-record a speaker in the room. Of course then once you have a library of these built up, it's very easy to make something sound like it's in a certain space, repeatably and quickly.
I love these vocal remixes.
But....they didn't all go to Fred's at the end. Sadness.
🤣
I'm still not sure how you do it; you just have that knack for making things seem easy and also easing my stress away. I don't think I'll try such audio manipulation nor animation, but I completely enjoyed the video.
And that talk box tube segment almost made me fall out of my chair the first time. This time I was slightly more in control. Only slightly. It also takes a rare talent to have such funny sneak up like that!
Thank you so much for this extremely heartwarming, encouraging comment. Wow. Please know I'm so grateful for you keepin' on watching my videos, and taking time to leave encouragement like this.
That is my favorite Star Trek scene!
LMAO!! Awesome job! I LOVE the Chubacca dog lol
Hello crafman all the way from Trinidad 🇹🇹
It's been so long (please don't take that as me being impatient) the almighty algorithm didn't put this up in my feed. I'm glad to see another video!
When you get into a new program like this, how do you learn how to use it properly? All the different sliders and settings seems like it would take ages to learn to fully utilize.
The sound 3POC made turning around put me on the floor......
That was awesome! Really enjoyed it :)
I love Star Trek! Thanks Craftsman!
Please do more of these bad lip reading sort of things
When I started this video I didn't even realize it was you Crafsman! This is impressive!
Hey, thank you! That's what I'm hoping for - to push the vocal manipulation far enough so the characters don't all sound the same. :)
Once again, C-3P0 behaves how most of us would in his situation.
this was fascinating!! thanks crafsman
the sound design on this video is next level... I highly recommend throwing on headphones for this one.
Thank you crafman this was/is amazing
HAhahaha, love the extra comedy gags… the hose…lol. You’re my kind of funny!
This seems like it would be right up Anthony at Create Sci-fi's alley.
Fantastic video 🙂👍👍👍
Love it!!
Wow - awesome clip.
Brilliant.
This is a great tutorial on how to get those iconic sounds. A channel that uses this really well in Star Wars circles is parody/music channel Auralnauts! ruclips.net/user/Auralnauts
Hey Brian! Thank you so much!
And mannn, I've seen some of the Auralnauts ones and they crack me UP! LOL! (Well, the ones with the least-colorful language. Heh. When Creepio is angrily asking Han Singular to "ACTIVATE", that cracks me up so much for some reason. LOL!)
Amazing.
Incredible!!
I wish my VR headset home screen environment was Crafsman shop. I'd absolutely spend money on that.
BRILLIANTTTTTT!🤣You really give us a treat and then you share with us the behind the scenes and it is amazing
--OFFICIAL LAUREN BROWN
Love it
Oh man, I'd love to see if you can replicate Soundwave from the original Transformers cartoon.
Ooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been anxiously waiting for a video.... Happy day!
