I saw the ORIGINAL CAST @ THE WINTER GARDEN THEATER in 1978!!
Me Too - still had the ticket stub for years, gone now but still have the Beatlemania Pin!
I remember that Mitch Weissman who played Paul McCartney looked very much like him
He used to perform at Beatlefests, for years after.
saw this 4 times in chicago at the blackstone... it taught me harmony.
Im only 30, but a friend gave me this vinyl and its my favorite way to get a hit of Beatles
I am kind of surprised how many people bad mouth Joe’s Lennon vocals. Many say he has to much of an NY accent in his voice and doesn’t sound like Lennon. I am 58 and have listened to this LP since the early 80’s when I first purchased it. I think Joe kills it on Nowhere Man, Strawberry Fields Forever, All you need is Love and Revolution. His vocals really bring on Lennon. Seeing this was done in 1977/78, long before any other Beatles bands hit the tribute circuit. Yes there are better Lennon’s out there now, but for his time playing Lennon, Joe was pretty good at it.
I love the announcer’s opening from the first time I heard it on the album! 😆😆😆
Great Memories from my younger days of playing the hell out of this album! I also remember during the year of the album release BEATLEMANIA’s appearance and performance during The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Great to run across this link and hear this album again!
Thank You for Sharing! 👍👍👍👍
You’re welcome Brett.

Where is Day Tripper?
Had to cut it out of the video due to copyright. Otherwise video would be blocked.
Thank you
You’re welcome Mike.
I understand what you also had to do, due to copyright reasons but was a verse cut out from “I Want To Hold Your Hand” and performed that way by BEATLEMANIA on the album or was that another song that you had to cut short?
I’m nearly 61 so I’m hoping that my memory is not starting to fail me. 🤔
@@brettsmeltzer2447 The opening song for both the Broadway play and Movie, I Want To Hold Your Hand was in fact a shortened version, at about 1:28. Three songs were shortened for the show. The others were, Magical Mystery Tour and I Am The Walrus. From what I read and was told, it was due to the running time of the show. Also just was a note, these 3 were shortened my cutting out a verse or two. Hey Jude was also shortened by 2 minutes, but that was just the nana’s at the end. All verses of Hey Jude stayed intact.
I was there..chicago..age 13..it was great
