Really great tutorial… It has helped me really a lot. I’m trying to decide between going to Theme compatible with Gutenberg + Woocommerce or going with Oxygen Builder (which is actually a Theme builder compatible with Gutenberg as well). I’m amazed Gutenberg is so powerful. I didn’t know that.
Great to hear the tutorial helped! Gutenberg has come a long way and Oxygen Builder is a solid site builder. You will do great with either one, however if you are thinking about rapid development, ease of use and where WordPress is going, Gutenberg has a slight edge.

I installed the starter template of my choice but now I want to remove it entirely and try building from the theme as you did but I could not remove the template. Thank you SYMmarteim. Can you tell me more about what you mean with 8 Menu Blocks? Gutenberg has a navigation block and Kadence has a Mega Menu that can contain blocks. Help me understand better what you mean by 8 Menu Blocks and I'll see what I can do.

Thank you Alexander! This is an excellent question. Creating an e-commerce website from scratch gives you more creative, strategic, deeper control over the layout and design of your website. Using a template is great however you are confined to the structure within that template and in most cases have to operate mostly within that structure. Depending on your objective and skills, using a template as a starting point may be beneficial, however designing from scratch gives you the most autonomy and freedom to develop and design as you please.

Let's assume I am using just the default Kadence Theme with no Starter Template and start customizing it by adding custom CSS code (Customizer > Additional CSS) to optimize a site. Such a great video/tutorial THANK YOU so much but being a beginner feeling very overwhelmed creating my website I do have a couple questions. When I first started out with a different theme that I was struggling with I changed the main menu from the original template but now nothing is connected to my store from any of the menu tabs. Also, if I want to create a collection of items (let’s say 10 things under one title) how do I connect this collection to a menu tab that will be designated for them + link said collection to a button? Thank you! I appreciate you watching my videos! The WordPress menu is initially connected to your shop when you first install WooCommerce. You can find all the pages by going to Appearance > Menus and adding all the pages you need to the menu. I you have created a collection products on a page, you can add that to the menu by going to Menus selecting the appropriate menu and adding that page to the menu tree.

Hi there, I'm using the row block with three overlay images. I'm trying to adjust the font on mobile and it is not working. Kadence is showing a small font, and Chrome Inspect is showing a proper font, but my iPhone is not showing any changes. Why is that and how can I fix it? I used Montserrat font, then switched to system font, but nothing helped.

After setting the page titles to have the nice black background and white title, Im stuck with the home page showing the "Home" and black title background also. How can I hide this on home page and still display page titles on other pages. All the Best Love your tutorial.

Hello Gaurav, sorry for the delay in getting back. For the Min/Max heigh property in the Row block, you can find it under the advanced tab>Structure Tab
Great question Ateek! The reason I do this sometimes is because Rows have more background options than sections. So by nesting it this way, I get more design options that can be applied to the outer container as a row rather than a straight section. In this particular case, it allows me to apply my background images to the rows that make up the 3 sections, rather than the sections in the row which have less background options. I hope that helps!
@@AteekSheikh Excellent question! I recommend planning around your DOM size. It really depends on your final page layout, so certainly some sections will have fewer elements than others. I certainly don't recommend having repeated nested rows and sections in every section which is why Kadence has introduced horizontal block flows in their sections to help with this. Nevertheless, DOM size is only one part of the performance suite. There are still plenty of other areas where you can improve performance so that even if you are using multiple nested elements on a page, your speed and performance will still be very good.

@@CliftonWP You may also consider an option for site export for those who love you site but may not have the time to sit through a 2 hour tutorial (i would watch if its 6 hours! i don't mind). It will really help speed up things guess. It's my humble opinion. Feel free to do whatever suits your style best though. Again, awesome channel!

Am unable to create the gradient as explained in the section 'How to create a standout category section on the homepage'. The UI has changed and I can't see a location slider to change the length of the fade.
I managed to achieve the effect by using the 'Control Point Position %' text box available when setting the gradient colours, just scroll down to see the text box which replaces the 'location' slider. It was a fiddle as the colours and angle kept changing which is presumably a bug.
So I was wondering if it's possible with free Elementor to insert categories on a page and then customize the images - I mean, the size, shape, and typography. I think free Elementor lets me do that for products, but not for categories? Alternatively, I was thinking about using Kadence Blocks. Am I wrong in thinking it's much more complete than free Elementor? I mean, I think I can use some paid Elementor features with free Kadence Blocks? Anyway, I looked at Kadence and thought there would be a category block that would let me display the desired categories and change the image size... but I don't see one, unless I missed it. PAGE BACKGROUND Also, I want to change the background color of a page. In Elementor, I'm in the page settings, go to layout, and there are three options. I choose "Elementor Canvas," which lets me change the color, but the menus disappear. Then I try the other two options, and I can choose a color, but it doesn't show up. Do you see the problem? For this background issue, I also considered Kadence. Is it possible to change the background in the page settings? I haven't found that option. If there's no one-click option to change the background color of the entire page, I was thinking of stacking multiple layouts or sections and setting a color for each.

Thank you SYMmarteim. Can you tell me more about what you mean with 8 Menu Blocks? Gutenberg has a navigation block and Kadence has a Mega Menu that can contain blocks. Help me understand better what you mean by 8 Menu Blocks and I'll see what I can do.

Thank you Alexander! This is an excellent question. Creating an e-commerce website from scratch gives you more creative, strategic, deeper control over the layout and design of your website. Using a template is great however you are confined to the structure within that template and in most cases have to operate mostly within that structure. Depending on your objective and skills, using a template as a starting point may be beneficial, however designing from scratch gives you the most autonomy and freedom to develop and design as you please.

Let's assume I am using just the default Kadence Theme with no Starter Template and start customizing it by adding custom CSS code (Customizer > Additional CSS) to optimize a site. Wouldn't that code be overwrittten when updating the Kadence Theme in the future? Thanks.

Such a great video/tutorial THANK YOU so much but being a beginner feeling very overwhelmed creating my website I do have a couple questions. When I first started out with a different theme that I was struggling with I changed the main menu from the original template but now nothing is connected to my store from any of the menu tabs. Also, if I want to create a collection of items (let’s say 10 things under one title) how do I connect this collection to a menu tab that will be designated for them + link said collection to a button?

Thank you! I appreciate you watching my videos! The WordPress menu is initially connected to your shop when you first install WooCommerce. You can find all the pages by going to Appearance > Menus and adding all the pages you need to the menu. I you have created a collection products on a page, you can add that to the menu by going to Menus selecting the appropriate menu and adding that page to the menu tree.

I know how to add items to the menu but my issue is when clicking on menu tabs pages are not connected to my items and now my cart + checkout pages are gone. Hi there, I'm using the row block with three overlay images. I'm trying to adjust the font on mobile and it is not working. Kadence is showing a small font, and Chrome Inspect is showing a proper font, but my iPhone is not showing any changes. Why is that and how can I fix it? Great question Ateek! The reason I do this sometimes is because Rows have more background options than sections. So by nesting it this way, I get more design options that can be applied to the outer container as a row rather than a straight section. In this particular case, it allows me to apply my background images to the rows that make up the 3 sections, rather than the sections in the row which have less background options. I hope that helps!

@@AteekSheikh Excellent question! I recommend planning around your DOM size. It really depends on your final page layout, so certainly some sections will have fewer elements than others. I certainly don't recommend having repeated nested rows and sections in every section which is why Kadence has introduced horizontal block flows in their sections to help with this. Nevertheless, DOM size is only one part of the performance suite. There are still plenty of other areas where you can improve performance so that even if you are using multiple nested elements on a page, your speed and performance will still be very good.

You may also consider an option for site export for those who love you site but may not have the time to sit through a 2 hour tutorial (i would watch if its 6 hours! i don't mind). It will really help speed up things guess. It's my humble opinion. Feel free to do whatever suits your style best though.

Am unable to create the gradient as explained in the section 'How to create a standout category section on the homepage'. The UI has changed and I can't see a location slider to change the length of the fade.
I managed to achieve the effect by using the 'Control Point Position %' text box available when setting the gradient colours, just scroll down to see the text box which replaces the 'location' slider. It was a fiddle as the colours and angle kept changing which is presumably a bug.

So I was wondering if it's possible with free Elementor to insert categories on a page and then customize the images - I mean, the size, shape, and typography. I think free Elementor lets me do that for products, but not for categories?
Alternatively, I was thinking about using Kadence Blocks. Am I wrong in thinking it's much more complete than free Elementor? I mean, I think I can use some paid Elementor features with free Kadence Blocks?
Anyway, I looked at Kadence and thought there would be a category block that would let me display the desired categories and change the image size... but I don't see one, unless I missed it.

Also, I want to change the background color of a page. In Elementor, I'm in the page settings, go to layout, and there are three options. I choose "Elementor Canvas," which lets me change the color, but the menus disappear. Then I try the other two options, and I can choose a color, but it doesn't show up. Do you see the problem?
For this background issue, I also considered Kadence. Is it possible to change the background in the page settings? I haven't found that option.
If there's no one-click option to change the background color of the entire page, I was thinking of stacking multiple layouts or sections and setting a color for each.
