Just bought a 1987 STIII lefty with a reverse headstock, Spyder Kahler bridge, all original, I'm technically the 4th owner. Stellar condition!

I always think of Andy Larocque from King Diamond when I see an ST-3.

Love my ST3. I’ve owned it since the early 90s. NJ series and comes with an EMG 81 humbucker. (I assume it’s stock). Metallic cherry red color. Love it

I had one just like this one and dummy me I sold it cuz the neck was a little flat for my big hands but it had the best sound ,the single picups sound incredible and the double humbucker was solid

The original 87-89 Gunslingers were all Made in USA, only came with bolt-on necks and alder bodies, 1 Dimarzio Super distortion and a licensed Floyd Rose, or it's not a Gunslinger according to Dan Lawrence. The only Class Axe era Gunslingers made in the USA were the ones that weren't finished when they took over. Then the shop was closed down and they were built in Korea(I think) with NJ series hardware and Made in USA neck plates. From what I understand none of the Class Axe guitars were American made, other than the handful that were started before they took over. The newer Grover Jackson Gunslingers feel very similar to the original, I checked out a couple a few years ago and was tempted, but I can honestly say I prefer the original by a hair or two. At over $4k I decided to pass, I have an original '87 and it's still killer.. I'd love to pick up another, but there are a ton of Chinese counterfeit Gunslingers, and the serial numbers are impossible to check. Ebay has a bunch of 1987 Gunslingers with Nagel graphics, brand new and made in the USA, yet somehow they ship from China.

Actually each switch is on or off for each pickup. The original NJ series from Japan is a fine guitar also, even if its an import.

I bet money that dimarzio humbucker is a paf pro. Every st3 I took apart had a paf pro in the bridge. They used the paf pro because is balanced better with the single coil pickups

My ST3 and every other one I ever saw had a Super Distortion in the bridge. Why would a metal focused super strat, made specifically to compete with the Kramer, Ibanez and Charvel super strats have come with a vintage style pickup?

I had one (of course) and it had a custom paint scheme... all kinds of colors striped over a black background. Was just a killer '80s rock guitar with jumbo frets and a nice flat fretboard. And, like most guitars I've sold, I really regret not keeping this one!
