Thanks so much! This is a great guitar. Belongs to a student of mine now! Appreciate you watching the video and your kind words are greatly appreciated too!
@@maxduetorri320 aren’t you lucky! That’s fantastic. Congrats on the new guitar and thanks again for your kindness. Enjoy that new guitar and play it a lot!
Awesome Lucas I love the fernandes I have a couple myself a strat and Tele both revivals stunning. I really dig your style of playing one day I hope to play as well as you😊
That’s amazing that you know about and have these guitars. I think they have been gaining popularity in the past few years. Seriously undervalued instruments! I hope you continue to enjoy your revival guitars for many years to come, and please do stay tuned to the channel. I love featuring interesting guitars like this on a regular basis!
sounded good Lucus! I have an 82 light blue The Revival. I purchased it new from Guitar Showcase in San Jose, Ca. 1982. Its a dream to play.Gets better with age.
I have lefty 1984 Fernandes Revival that I purchased new in Tokyo in 1984 and that is in mint condition with no modifications. A wonderful instrument to play. Have original gig bag also. My understanding was that Fender launched a lawsuit against Fernandes for copyright infringement, the result of which was that Fernandes changed the shape of the headstock around 1987. You are right that it is often sold for less than its quality and history justify, usually because people don't know what they have.
Thank You so much for your comment Brian. All very good points here. I’m glad you enjoy your lefty version. Luckily for us Players these guitars do not cost a fortune where so many are overinflated for what you get. Thanks for tuning in and hope you stay tuned to the channel for more videos! Have a great day
Thank you so much :-) always appreciate new followers and hope you enjoy checking out some videos! I really enjoyed doing this review. This guitar belonged to a collector I know and was sold off to a promising Young student of mine who plays it all the time now.
You had me at Fernandes! My first ever "good" guitar. An FST-65 from the late 80's with the dogfighter hotrails. Why did I pawn it? Right I was broke and young and dumb. Now FFWD 35 yrs and I finally have an LE1 and it's fantastic! I'm hunting for more of these well made affordable guitars. Best kept secret in the guitar world I think. Oh and I think I stole it for $275.
Cool story. It’s always rough when we let a good one go. Fortunate for you it wasn’t one that has gained a ton of value, so you could essentially get it back. I have foolishly traded some guitars that I liked, and have become much more valuable over the past few years.. Thank you so much again for watching!
Thanks so much! I’m glad you like the sound. I have to agree with you, although I think I am biased haha. Those amplifiers are not cheap, but man are they versatile! It’s definitely a piece of gear that has been extremely useful in Recording studios, when trying to dial in the perfect sound for particular guitar sounds. Thanks again for your kind comment.
I believe so, honestly, I have no idea anymore as I shot this video a a few years ago, and the Guitar ended up getting sold to one of my students. I know it’s from the mid 80s and that it’s got a nice fat neck great playing guitar for sure, but the specifics elude me at this point. Thanks a bunch for watching.!
Thank you so much. That’s really nice of you. Feel free to stick around the channel if you like what you hear. I usually put up two videos a week. One like this where I talk about a piece of gear or a technique, and another performance video every Friday
I have the same one with an alder neck and the older gold fender lace sensor pickups in it and it sounds good through my vox vt 30 when I can find the right tone!
Thanks! Guitar fantastic❤💯🎸

Wow that is amazing Greg! I can only imagine how sweet it is to play one of that vintage. You are a lucky guy!

Nice! Glad to hear it. I have those same pickups in a fender Stratocaster and love them! Thank you for watching and stay tuned for more
Fernandes L500 pickups were AlNiCo, not ceramic!
Good to know. These ones seemed to be ceramic as they were fairly high output and had flat pole pieces, but they could be the ones you’re mentioning.
