    Did you say that you got 160 to 200 miles per that 2 gallon tank? Is your odometer set to k/m by mistake?....lol. That's 100 mpg

      VIDEO CORRECTION NOTE: You are bringing up a good point. PLEASE NOTE: I was getting 150-175 MPG exploring trails, fire roads doing 30-45mph with only a fire Freddy or Hacienda Gabe riding with me. I have learned over my other bike review videos I am getting better MPG then viewers. 1. I think riding with a gang of buddies makes us all ride the bikes harder. 2. lots of Highway would make this CRF450L get more like 110-135MPG. I DO THINK THIS BIKE NEEDS AN OVERSIZED TANK but that being said when I filled up at mile 160 I looked into my tank and I guessed on the 200 mpg possibility. I think I need to start giving MPG in HARD miles as well, thanks @zfastjoe for bringing this up.

      @@bermcannonk Thank you for replying and clearing this up (sort of...lol) When I first read this, I fell on the floor. Then I can see that you wrote "mpg" in place of "range" or "mpt" (miles per tank). Now I can get what you're saying..bahaha! Thanks again.

    I was a bit disappointed in mine in stock trim, specifically the way it ran. Sputtered and stalled on me a few times.... fueling was pretty bad, probably because of emissions. I heard they may have fixed that on the 2021's with some ECU changes. I tricked mine out with some bits from SRmoto and it's really changed the bike. Vortex ECU and Yoshimura exhaust made it run the way it should. It's way more bike than what I can handle. The KTM honks will say it's no KTM, but I'm no pro rider and this Honda suits my riding ability just fine.

    • @bermcannonk
      @bermcannonk  4 года назад +1

      That’s really weird that your bike was running like that..... the 2019 crf450l i rode last year was pretty good as well. I’m pretty excited to try one that is kind of tricked out.

      @jg5529 4 года назад

      I bought the Vortex and kept my stock pipe to keep it low profile. It's never going to have perfect low speed throttle pickup, but it is manageable. It also has enough power to keep up with LA traffic on the freeway. That is a lot to ask of a any bike. Most of the rider needs can be addressed in the aftermarket.

      A lot of guys have the idle set way too low. Get that idle up to 1800-2000 rpm's and it'll help with the low speed stalling. '19-20 models will only benefit in terms of the fueling with the addition of a Vortex ECU. We have yet to see if the updated ECU on the new 2021 models has any benefit in that regard.

    Good video! I’m still considering purchasing the crf450l. Just bought a left over new 2019 MT 09; deal was too good to pass up. Now I’m looking for a dual sport to add to my stable. I test rode a 2019 450l last year and didn’t experience any issues with stalling and such. I’m interested in seeing how the changes Honda made to the 2021 ecu effects the issues that people have been complaining about. Not sure if I like the all red plastics on the upcoming 2021 model but I’ll have to see it in person before I can make judgements.

    I have the 2019 and love it. I put supermoto wheels on it for the summer since it was too damn hot to ride in the desert! It’s a hoot to ride in either guise. Only complaint is the jerky throttle but a Vortex is a bit too pricey...

      Buy direct from Vortex out of Australia, you'll save some currently with the lower AUD. It's a one time purchase, it sucks to drop that much coin but the improved performance all around will help you to forget about that money in short order.

    • @texlee1640
      @texlee1640 4 года назад +3

      I highly doubt this after they updated the ECU, plastics, and renamed it for the 2021 model year. They wouldn't have gone to that trouble if they were going to nix this bike. For 2021 it is now known as the 450RL, maybe your dealer is confusing the lack of the original 450L moniker with it no longer being made. I'd take the info you get from your dealer with a grain of salt.

    • @glossblack1098
      @glossblack1098 4 года назад

      Tex Lee, I asked the same dealer about the 450RL, and he said its all over. I guess we will just have to wait and see if Honda actually deliver these 450RLs to the showroom floor. They certainly won’t be available in the next few months.

    • @texlee1640
      @texlee1640 4 года назад

      @@glossblack1098 My local dealer expects the 2021 450RL this week, so who knows. I am not saying that your dealer is wrong, it just seems highly unlikely. That said, the European guys have made comments about Honda suspending sales there due to low sales numbers. That can most likely be tied to the lower horse power version over there.

      @@bermcannonk After a while the suspension felt really soft, it probably needed upgrading. I got tired of the jerky throttle it was tedious on tight twisty trails. The spokes and the alloy was corroding quite quickly and I had to spend out to get it to the 45hp. Nice bike but I will stick to the 650R, with electric start soon. 👍

    • @bermcannonk
      @bermcannonk  4 года назад +1

      Wow, Back to the XR !!!! You know the jerky throttle is borderline for me I seem to get used to the more I rode it. You were not the first one to complain about that.

    • @steves5382
      @steves5382 4 года назад +2

      @@bermcannonk I know, I guess the good thing is that I paid alot less as it sat in the showroom. Again things have to change so it is inevitable that parts are harder to find for the XR, but also the prices of the Brp seem steady and sometimes very high. Its a shame as Honda could have had an amazing bike with the Crf, this is the bike they should have bought out a while ago, and kept the Xr650 updated with electric start and fuel injection. 👍
