Waffles, you guys need to get this mod. It’ called CheatSnap. It’s an amazing mod. You can have all your chest side by side without any one of them out of place lol.

As you are reorganising your chests and you aren't doing anything above the top row, why not put a row of signs there so you have a sign for each chest?
Might not be a bad idea! I've always used the signs the way I did them but I could see if that looks nice
