Do you know what the name of the music is? I’ve been trying to find it because of how great it is
@@PongoBird74 On The Nature of Daylight
@@matthewcook6574 thank you so much
This episode was a perfect example of how it's okay to deviate from the source material as long as you convey the same message. The point of Bill in The Last of Us is to teach Joel he needs to love, to find a reason to live and fight for it. Video Game Bill was more of a cautionary tale for Joel on what could happen to him if he doesn't find love. TV Bill shows Joel what CAN happen when you find love. Joel got the same lesson, and we got a beautiful glimpse of the best things life can offer us.
Beautifully put.
I wish I could like this a million times.
Definitely!!!
But they didn't deviate that much, they were characters in the game. The show does what a game can't, take time on the other lives and trials others had to prevail
dude u dont understand the real story stfu
The way I cried watching this beautiful love story unfold was insane. Man this show is made so perfectly.
The way frank came into bill's life by walking into his hole and then on their last day they visited the same hole 😭
Yeah he definitely came in his hole 😅
The shot of the hole made me immediately start sobbing, I don't know why that triggered it but I was a mess for the rest of it.
They visited more than that one hole iykwim lol
As soon as “On the Nature of Daylight starts” it’s instant waterworks 😢🥺 such a powerful song for a powerful moment
Same here. It had more impact here than it did in The Handmaid's Tale and that's saying something!
Ikr 😭
Same for me with The arrival
@@alexuribe8755 I forgot it was in Arrival. Now I suddenly wanna rewatch Arrival!
@@wiinterflowers4277 fantastic movie
This is one of the most beautiful episodes of television I think I've EVER seen. I love that we got to see the relationship between them because in the game we don't get anything. I'm SO impressed with this show.
The way he says “then i will drink it.” Puts so many thoughts to mind. The gravity, the certainty, a bit of reassurance; it just makes it feel more consequential
I was crying in this whole scene but 1:20 had me sobbing when Bill does :(
Such good acting from Murray Bartlett and Nick Offerman! Such a surprising episode but such a heartwarming and welcome surprise too! The episode thats deviated the most from the game but in a good way.
I don’t care what you say or who you are, if this didn’t make you cry in any way then you’re not human. Such a beautiful relationship they had.
Well, this partner seems way better than both Tammy 1 and Tammy 2.
One of the most beautiful scenes I ever saw. So strong and sad, but full of love. And I feel really sorry for those who doesn´t get it or feel it.
Frank could have killed himself and left a note, but he didn’t. This way was so much more honorable. Bill couldn’t have asked for a better companion.
Totally agree. ❤
Stupid HBO breaking down my fortress where I keep all my emotions. 😢
A remarkable episode. Perfect in every way.
So in a way this was also a message and mirror to what Joel and Tess or someone he finds could have together
Has somebody else noticed that the music on the back is the same music un the movie the arrival! When Amy Addams was thinking un her Life witg her dauhgter Hanna!?
Nick Offerman delivered what his probably his best performance in history! Cannot wait to see in next year’s Mission: Impossible!
I have never sobbed for anything I watched as much as I did for this episode. Feels like Frank's attending his own funeral. And that might be the reason why I can't fully attend watching it because it's that painful. It is so painful that I literally can't look at their last day but try to cope with it by sobbing.
Peter Jackson had the elves come to Helm's Deep, whomever produced this has this.
Good job.
My dudes...in a perfect world, we could all hope for a love this like this. Whatever your preference
If this isn't a cure for homophobia, then views of this is a good way to precipitate the monsters among us
I absolutely sobbed 😭😭😭
I’m counting this episode as a Romance film
So different from the game but truly beautiful 😭😭
Man it was hard holding in my tears for this one
You succeeded in something in which I failed. ❤
I think the message of the game was that if you are not selfish and care about others, you don’t survive in the apocalypse.
This episode was so beautiful and had me weeping.
Go make me some toast 🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭
I was crying like a baby. It was so beautiful, so heartwarming, yet so heartbreaking. I love these two ♥️🏳️🌈
I’m in tears?!?
This to shall pass. All good things come to an end. So does the bad.
I wish they'd followed through with the idea of using the main story as a canvas for more episodic anthology stories like this one.
This is So SAD. Especially after being together for 16 yrs
The music definitely intensified in this scene
I swear this episode better sweep the Emmy's
as beautiful as these scenes were, i wish they would've given them old man voices lol... that would've been the icing on the cake for me!!!
I've never cried during a show/movie like I cried during this episode.
If this episode did not make you shed a tear, PLEASE go to your cardiologist! You may not have a heart!
mammal's usually prefer it this way. it may not seem right or wrong. but this is a choice that has no right or wrong. even if bob did not partake he would of stayed by his side and died from grief, not eating leaving his side, to sad to go on, or nothing to go on from going on, post scriptum. i would not go to sleep and do it that way. Because i wouldnt want to rise another day knowing my knight was vanquished. and my kingdom was gone......
This is the best television series episode of all time.
MY BF SENT ME THIS AND NOW IM SOBBING 😔

this si truly one of the best episodes ive ever seen in my life and it was a ditached episode from the main story

Ron, Is his name Tammy?
Why can't the TWD have bottle episodes as good as this. 😭
I thought that was Jordan Peterson on the thumbnail..
Who ever unlikes this I presume did by mistake ❤❤❤
That man really looks like Jordan Peterson with the beard
🦞 would have issues with this episode
@@altarofkubrickfloyd 😂😂😂
This episode proved that a story about LGBT couples does work when well written
In the game Frank actually hated Bill lmao
Not quite right. They had an argument before Frank was infected. The Game isnt very specific about the argument.
Shocking. I would never have believed Jordan Peterson getting married to a man if I haven't seen it.
I admit i am bisexual but I love this. It was very sweet.
I'm homophobic but this episode was great
Try romophobia. Way better
LMAOOO
@@BeeHatGuy What is romophobia
People who played the game. Were there any indication in the game that Bill and Franke were this close ?
Yeah theres a suicide note from Frank that mentions it
@@johnnyburch2306 but it said they were partners. Was there a line mentioning that they are romantically involved?
@@ibaty yep
It's subtle compared to the show, and the biggest difference is that they couldn't reconcile their conflicts, so Frank ran off. Bill was a lot more eccentric, bitter, paranoid when Ellie and Joel came around.
@@ibaty "Partner" is mainly used as a code word for a SO
Euthanasia is a sin. In Catholic Poland it is completely prohibited, just like homosexual partnerships.
Are you going to say why this is bad or just state that is is?
Catholic Poland sounds like a shithole
I was waiting for the “oh another woke scene!” And people just whingeing about this episode! 😂😂😂
A very useful use of timekeeping! Instead of a mission at school and a battle with bloater, Bill's homosexual relationships were shown to us for an hour, and then they also killed him at the end, completely rewriting the canon for the sake of a fake drama. I hope that in the next episode Sam will be a transgender person who feels like a girl 😂
Grow up
@@stuffedsheepshead Very creative. When will you stop desecrating once-good universes? Last of us, Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Terminator, Lord of the Rings and so on. While I see that evil cannot create, only destroy.
@@ДенисКазаков-д7ъ the last of us game and the last of us show are different story's and I think that is already very clear and will become more clear when they change more stuff in the later episodes, if you don't like that then don't watch it.
This might be a crazy concept to understand, but something that works well as an experience in a video game, might not work as well in a TV or film format, they just aren't transferrable. What happens in the TV show doesn't change or erase what happened in the games, there is the narrative in the game and now there is a narrative in the TV show, same characters different set of events, I hope I've helped you understand this incredibly simple concept
This was an amazing episode... I played the hell out of the games.
What good is an adaptation that's just a shot-for-shot remake. If you don't like Bill's story, just play the game. Also, there are many LGBT characters in TLOU

they won the apocalypse. They lived their life the way they want to. Makes me really realize how short life can be, and how little and living simply is enough to satisfy our life

This is the best episode of the series by far. Pedro and Bella have knocked it out of the park from ep.1 to ep. 6, and each episode has been fantastic; but this episode might have a standing as one of the greatest episodes of television of all time.
I think this is the best hour of television I've seen in many, many years.
Max Richters On the Nature of Daylight is such a beautiful musical composotion. Very touching scene
I had to pause after this for a few minutes because I was crying, genuinely one of the most moving piece of television I have ever watched.
as a straight male, this is one of very very very few times i’ve cried during a movie or show. this was just phenomenal in every aspect.
Doesn't matter if you are straight or not. Great shows have power to let anyone cry!
Agree
I could not help my self but sob abit during this whole scene
i watched with my wife. she kept looking back at me. i had a lot of dust particles in my eyes during this scene for some reason.
@@kh_1984 same here haha. it made me really emotional
I did both game twice. Big fan since the beginning. And now I just watch this incredible episode. When the song started, the tears came out. I lost my mom there is one month. "On the nature of daylight" was the song that we choose with my sister for the funeral at the church… I stayed by his side until the end at the hospital. I will never forgot his last breath. She reminds me of Frank. Loss of autonomy, medication... but still smiling despite everything.
Take care of the people that you love. tell them how important they are to you, and that you love them. I did not that in the last few months for my mom and I will regret that for my whole Life. Losing a loving one in these conditions is very hard. Ellie knows what it is…
I'm so sorry for your loss... but thank you for these words
Your comment is so beautiful...
The moment Frank told Bill to slip the drugs in his drink. Frank would drink it and to take him to bed and die in Bills arms, and Bill cries that deep breaking down of pure and genuine love 😢. That hits so hard. I don't think i could have the courage to do that.
My God, this episode made me cry like a baby, wao!!!!! Great writing, directing and acted!!!!!
Never have I cried harder over 2 men in love. It is such a beautiful love story.
I never cried of a show and a movie for about 2 years
However they were never married as marriage is a religious institution, thousands of years old, that dictates the requirements - one man and one woman

I cried Like a Baby in this Episode 😅
Damn i'm 33 y'o but that Scene Hit ne hard 😭
The Last of Us is possibly my favourite game of all time, it deeply touched alot of us emotionally. So far the show is surpassing my expectations, the level of detail and references to the game is just a delight to see. Its beautifully directed, well paced and the actors performances stay true to the characters with a level of depth that is truly commendable. This is a very moving scene - at 2:17 when Frank points at the flowers in his wheelchair just got me :( HBO make some great shows.
I agree, but the series isn't faithful to the game. There's a lot of action we're missing. Take the episode where there's broken glass and clickers, why didn't Joel used the broken glass to kill the clickers with stealth? I'm gonna keep watching, but I'm a bit dissapointed.
@@blucolife yeah but when filming an adaptation you cant just follow it step by step from the game, it would be too linear and predictable, there has to be some expanse on dramatisation/human relationships etc otherwise there is no depth to the show. Im sure you'll see a shived clicker at some point ;)
@@roblanger5546 You have a point. I agree. I do hope we see a lot more action. Still, this is way better than The Walking Dead.
@@blucolife I love the walking dead still, but I think the last of us is like a more grown up version 👍
Well, actually, the show isn’t anywhere near where the game was as far as Bill and Frank. In the game, they hated each other.
But I like the route they went with the show. Obviously, makes for a much better story.
This puts the fear of god into me, all zombie movies do. The thought of mercy killing your lover is something i would do for her, but id be right behind her, shes my strength in this world. Its pointless without her.
Great song from Max Richter. They used it in Shutter Island also
and that movie with Amy Adams, with the aliens. I can't remember the damn name !
@@marissasarmiento5410 The Arrival I'm pretty sure.
“Arrival” movie too
In an alternate universe, even Ron Swanson is crying
I just finished this episode and I loved it. Their relationship was beautiful and pure. It was satisfying to know that each found eachother at the end of the world, and grew old together.
Literally sobbing rn this is so touching.
"Just give me one more good day, starting now make me some toast."
WHAT IF THIS WAS MY FINAL STRAW.
that was true love. and it doesn't matter if you are a guy, girl, trans, cd, intersex, etc. those 2 truly loved each other and yeah you will always have very bad days with whomever you are with. some days it will be their fault and others yours. no one is perfect. but thats true love.

Man,it hurts when Bill starts crying...
Never thought I’d find myself getting emotional over such a well written and filmed episode. The relationship between Bill and Frank is portrayed beautifully.
This episode was just beautiful I loved every minute of it, it is how love should be pure and simple but heartfelt
Frank, Bill, Henry, and Sam so much better in the show compared to the game.
This scene had me ugly crying. Loudly. It was a beautiful experience

This episode. This love story. I sobbed. Just beautiful.
This episode is total Love and a masterpiece
