Now two sons - Zeeshan and Tahir Rokhri are carrying the tradition. Out of these two brithers, I do not know which one is Z / T. But I do want to say this, that the singer in white clothes starts the song first and then the one in black and they take turns. Why is the one in white clothes SMOKING at the time of singing? You know the rules of vocal is to have as much air in the lungs and the airways MUST be totally clear of any impediment in the form of smoke so that the voice comes at its optimum and the proper pitch.
As a singer, one should avoid smoking if possible, or at least avoid several hours before the performance. It takes several hours to clear the airwaves of the trapped smoke, unless one knows Yogic respiratory exercises, like Kapaal Bhati and Aalong-Vilong.
Another trick is to chew ginger slices prior to singing sessions to clear the vocal cords of any deposits which can hamper the vibrations required for sound production.
