Great vids dude! How are you pulling the samples directly from your turntable? Or are you recording with a mic? My vintage one doesn't have any USB output like your AT120 in this vid.
@@JRCee It looked like you were using another TT in your other vids. Safe to assume all the TTs in your vids have USB outputs? In which case, I'll have to get creative pulling directly from my vinyl...
That was very cool. Quick question: I am a total newbie wanting to make boom bap style hip hip beats as a hobby only. I am trying to keep my costs down, especially since it will only be a hobby. I was thinking about the MPC Studio II, but I am thinking that maybe the MPD 218 is all I might need. The 16 level feature is a feature I like a lot, especially for playing basslines. I noticed in the video that it appeared that you had a bass note in 16 levels, but there isn't a dedicated button on the unit for 16 levels. How were you able to do it? And lastly, will the MPD work seamlessly with FL Studio, or would I have to learn the MPC software? Thank you kindly. And I just subscribed to the channel.
I always used the MPD 218 with FL Studio. I've never even tried the MPC software. And about the bass, there's different ways to sample: you can take a song and chop it with fruity slicer, or in that case, you take a .wav sound of a bass you like, go to the piano roll in FL Studio, and start playing the pads. You'll see that you get the 16 levels. Thank you for your support man! 🙏
very good beat man. u gave me inspiration. ive been trying to make beats like u but with komplete a25 but i think i will switch to mpd218. im a beginner but mpd218 seems more easy to use to chop samples and creative process. what do u think?
I'm about to order this off Amazon for $99 does it come straight out the box ready to play like that I have the PC does it come with all the included software ready to go kits and so on or is that another two $300 purchase

Would you recommend this for someone starting out if so what software would you also recommend I’m thinking of getting since I’m seeing them go around for a good price for my wallet lol
I'm going to wake up sober and do something tomorrow. Thank you.
was listening to donuts and it hit me that jdilla and doom are probably killing beats in heaven
More than likely yeah. They should be cool with eachother but u never know
*most definitely*
can you drop a tutorial on how you chopped up those samples?? like a step by step tutorial? and also how u used those midi pads
3:18 that synced up so well haha
Hearin all those samples almost choked me up. Like hearin a photo album. Movies watched , fun times. Etc . When I saw JJ & Cosby I was like u go boy!
Damn bro, you nailed it! Many beatmakers say they make Dilla beats but you are for real

If you use FL Studio, I would tell you to play with Fruity Slicer and the mpd. Other than that, don't get frustrated and enjoy 🙌🙌
So dose the record player sync with your laptop then you just chop? And what kind of laptop you got?
