that sounds like Lee talking with the maps ... really good at what he does ..... beautiful timber work in there ...distance in on chutes ...beautiful copper staining ..... cool striations in the shear zone ...fun explore and we smashed that like button real good like.
shango this is cool, I didn't know you were into mines, I want to check out one again sometime but I have no exp, my friendo took me through on ein nevada in 2006 I wanna do it again though I kinda wussed out because nobody really knew where we were lol
OMG. what's with the damn Virginia Slims commercials?! Had to turn the volume and commentary off. You're in a gold mine with copper all around. Talk about that.
Deutz were fan cooled .. don't think that was one. Hard to tell from the video, but early 1920's Dodge engines had a similar "exposed" cylinder like that.
@paulcooper2897 That's interesting. I remember the Deutz had a massive fan on one end with ducting, but looking at the condition of this engine, I made assumptions that the elements had weathered this block over the years. I didn't know that Dodge made air cooled cylinder sleeves. I've looked on the Interwebs about what you're referring to and haven't found any info.... but I am curious. Any info you could elaborate on would be awesome. I'm an old air-cooled engine geek 🤓 . I love the old hit and miss engines too! Our nation was built on this tech, it's amazing what we did with so little... many years ago. And by the way I'm not an old fart... I'm 49 haha!
I wonder what the logic behind the nonconsecutive chute numbering is. Does it show up on maps by any chance? I've never seen a mine number chutes by distance but it appears this may be the case.
Why in hell would anyone bring a child into this dangerous situation. Safety would be my main concern. Sometimes these hidden caves could contain poison gas in the air when you least expected.
Well I'm sure if it wasn't a hundred percent safe or they felt like it wasn't the kid wouldn't be there it's not like they're a bunch of amateurs and they don't have a clue as to what they're doing just because you wouldn't bring your kid into an environment like that doesn't mean that everybody else has to do exactly like you and just because your opinion in your way of thinking I'm glad you wouldn't take your kid into an environment like that or you think it's unsafe because probably you don't have a real clue as to what in the world you're even doing anyway so it probably be a good thing that you didn't take somebody like that into that environment
More importantly who brought the annoying crotch fruit into the mine kid can't shut the fuck up... Honestly I'm surprised he didn't accidentally fall down the shaft

love the commentary throughout the video, very neat mine explore! keep them coming, great job!

Love the Resident Evil sound bite. I didn't know there were mines underneath Raccoon City. LOL

It's a great time to learn how to know where to smoke

You must be new here.

How's a kid supposed to learn about cigarettes if the older generation doesnt expose them to it?
Looks like a Deutz engine. Air cooled, and used a lot in oilfield, mining and ag applications. Occassionally still see them deployed, chugging away.
I’m Only halfway through the video but if you’re referring to the engine at the beginning it’s definitely NOT a deutz.

Yup it's Flat:) You made my day by sharing the truth with that child.
Now I need a cigarette
Me like
@11:20 Nice old tv add for VS. I do remember the adds.

The motor is a late 20's Chevy according to my Dad.
Cool 🧲⚓️👍
Engine looks like a Model A Ford.
This looked a little tight for me. That’s why I leave the heavy lifting to you now I’m gonna go back and enjoy my cigarette smooth flavor.
