So fun fact BAZ, this guy saw a episode of 2 youtubers (creep cast) go over ted the caver. And decided that he could make a video of this. THIS IS his first EVER time making this type of content. And he nailed it.
@@AsianAtTheDisco009 I think he shot the outside bits near a cave but the inside bits, the crawling around ect was a mix of real caves and a set he built. And as a guy who has built sets rocks are the easiest thing to make, just need some foam, fabrick, and paint. But I believe he didnt use ANY cgi at all no blender nothing. Maybe a few special affects for audio and some visual but nothing serious.
@BasketCurly when I used to work on student films I never got to work with a set or prop master like that, but if that's the case, holy shit I thought he done found himself an actual cave to fuck around and find out [fictionally] in. That set looks insane
To think that Alex decided to start the whole project off of Wendigoon and MeatCanyon’s video on Ted The Caver and absolutely fucking NAILED it is insane to me. This guy has some SERIOUS talent, and I sincerely hope from the bottom of my heart that he’ll make it big
@Bazamalam Giving birth through a narrow canal is perfectly acceptable, but describing scary spelunking as a type of fetish goes too far in your eyes? I kid, obviously, but... eh.
HEY I’m Speaks from your server!! I’m really happy you checked this out and I knew you were going to enjoy it And yes, the series and creepy pasta are nearly identical to each other! The only things that are different really was that the series is less descriptive since Ted is retelling the story and he actually makes it out of the cave (assuming he died in the series)
man. I used to explore abandoned buildings when I was a teen, idk why but it was a fascinating hobby and I loved it. I've been to alot of creepy/dangerous places but the one that actually creeped me out? basement of a huge unfinished hospital. absolute deafening silence, stale air and darkness, I felt like I was in a grave. idk how cave explorers do that, that's such an uncomfortable feeling being deep underground D: thanks for another great video!
Watching this was a really refreshing to me, tho I understand why it might not be for everyone. Most analogue horrors tap in to creatures, doppelgangers and the unknown, but I really do feel this was down to human error, paranoia and using your ears more than anything else to decipher what's going on. Very slow paced, very atmospheric, but most importantly - super cool!
So, I just read the original creepypasta and if this is a faithful recreation, that's the end. Basically in the original story Ted puts one last blog post that says he's going back with his friends and a gun, and the page was never updated again presumably because whatever was in there killed them all. If they post another, I'd be surprised. Not upset because this is actually great, but I'd definitely be surprised.
Before I got into the last tapes this reminded me heavily of a British found footage horror The Borderlands (2013), which you definitely should avoid spoilers for if you wanna watch. It's not a spelunking movie but major similar vibes in how a cursed land is presented. Like with this one it's not wow-amazing but it's a bit more concise and movie-like if you liked this.
I shit you not when I saw they brought the dog my first thought was "ah, it's the rations! For when you get stuck down there cause we all know you will." And throughout the walk it was "don't let rations out of your sight!" And finally "the dog knows something's wrong so why don't you know what's up? Listen to the dog. There's a reason people say that dogs senses are on point."
I remember reading ted the caver it spooked me for a while I told people at school about it spooked them too and eventually almost every kid in school had heard about ted the caver I was 15
@@gregsbiplays9899 you know when ted the caver released right? it was around 2001 and I was 15 in 2003 that's when ted the caver became popular around my school cause of me
Currently on the caving information segment and I’m thinking “what if the ‘graffiti’ is like some ancient letterings or some supernatural seal keeping demons or some monster sealed and restrained,’” but that’s just my dumb thoughts
I’ve never really been too into creepypasta and was never around for the whole found footage/lost media that stuff like Ted, Blair Witch, even Paranormal Activity did until I discovered stuff around 2018 I think, but seeing excerpts and reading through old media and stuff and seeing how they adapted Ted the Caver, it definitely feels super early 2000’s, and like Baz said, the whole characterization of Ted as an amateur vlogger but generally decent, realistic, and charismatic guy who enjoys caving, everything about lost media and found footage and even characters and stories in general is stuff I greatly enjoy
I really love how this series is so actuator to the classic creepypasta it is supposed to be based off of, and I would really like to see the channel do more interpretations of old and classic creepypastas like Ted the caver.
i thought this story sounded familiar. Watcher told this story from their "Are you Scared?" series. the fear of the unknown is one of my worst fears next to doppelgängers and TOTAL silence. 😭
I would be getting out of there once I hear water that means rocks gonna be slippery in that direction 😅& I wonder if they’re any poisonous fumes in there 😅
Dunno if anyone mentioned it, but being one of the earliest internet campfire stories, it makes sense for Ted the Caver to be on a separate website other than Creepypasta Wiki. Be mindful that creepypastas didn't start becoming a thing until much later on.
Based on this series alone, I thought it was some kind of rock monster. The grinding sounds being its movement, and the wind starting and stopping being it blocking the hole. I guess Ted was safe on the first exploration because no one got injured. Then with Joe he hit his head and the blood triggered something, a ritual or just creature instinct. When Ted was attacked in We Shouln't Have I pictured the rocks moving, catching his hand and messing up his fingers. Joe's injuries also seemed in line with scraping against or knocking into a protrusion of rock. What doen't match my theory would be the quick splashing footsteps that had Ted panicking.
would as above so below count? in terms of horror movie about caving i mean its based on the paris catacombs but the idea is the same and maybe the descent?
Wendigo change by the belive and one that is belive is that they are entités that like to pur terror on his victim so fallowing him to his home is possible and he could hear and see things beacause of the paranoïa that is cause by the interaction 👍
There is a Movie where some Women go Caving and then Founding an old area where there Ancient Humans who Are interbreeding for as long as the Ice age and then one bone died expect the Main person who killed her Friend who was Cheating with her Husband and then in beginning of the 2nd Movie where she and her Family driving home but They All but Her Died and then she is in the Hospital and she has go back to the Cave and she Kill all the Weird Cave Humans
The fact that they even got a Jack Russell terrier like the one in the original creepypasta shows how much dedication to detail this creator has.
I love Whip, he seems very huggable

Real shit, was this a CGI environment, or did he find a real cave? Cause honestly I was too scared to find out

Hearing rambling and footsteps by the other side of the cavern
Ted: Probably just the trucks
I went once during my teenage years - class trip.
That was fine, but I'd never go unsupervised or on anything that wasn't essentially a tour.
Class trip seems a lot safer than being given birth through a narrow canal where you can barely breathe, let alone move 😭

Keep covering entire series! They’re so much more immersive and interesting than shorter stand-alone analog horror videos.
This is the plan, but sometimes there isn't enough for a video on some channels. Feel free to recommend some on my discord :)

I promise you I've heard weirder 😭
I honestly can't tell which is worse, deep sea diving or cave spelunking.
They both sound like they'd subject you to horrific eldritch voodoo
Combine them! Cave diving!

This does the best ever interpretation of the story

That’s a very good movie. The lamb scene particularly disturbed me deeply
its hard to believe this was considered the first ever creepypasts. wow

19:09 most caves are extremely structurally sound. 19:39 gold is found in streams and rivers. It's quite rare to see it that deep underground.

This is in the same category as deep sea diving. Why?
Honestly deep sea diving isn't as bad purely for the fact that you aren't in a confined space at all times (unless you are going deep sea cave diving)
