- In the heart of the Paektu Mountains in North Korea, nestled within a quaint village, lies a bustling local market. The air is filled with the enticing aroma of freshly harvested produce and the sounds of lively chatter among the villagers. Surrounded by the serene beauty of nature, the market becomes a focal point where people come together in peace.
Every morning, vendors set up their stalls, proudly displaying a vibrant array of fruits, vegetables, and handmade crafts. The spirit of community is palpable as neighbors exchange friendly greetings while selecting their goods. Elders share stories of the past, creating a sense of continuity that binds generations together.
Children, with laughter echoing through the market, weave between stalls, their eyes wide with curiosity. The simplicity of life in this village is reflected in the genuine smiles that adorn the faces of both vendors and customers. The market isn't just a place for transactions; it's a social hub where bonds are strengthened and friendships cultivated.
Against the backdrop of the majestic Paektu Mountains, the market is a symbol of resilience and unity. Despite the challenges of the world beyond, the villagers find solace in their close-knit community. The market not only sustains them with essentials but also nurtures a sense of shared identity and belonging.
As the day unfolds, the sun dips behind the mountains, casting a warm glow on the market. The villagers pack up their goods, their spirits lifted by the camaraderie they've experienced. In this remote corner of North Korea, the local market stands as a testament to the enduring power of peace within a community, thriving amidst the tranquility of the Paektu Mountains.

1950年代の日本みたい。活力があって生きるのが精一杯。街中で焚火をする。日本では捕まる。
Japan is still under American sovereignty, while North Korea has sovereignty over itself in everything, and despite the American sanctions on it, they live. I think they are the best.
Mereka terlihat bahagia dengan hidupnya, walaupun dengan keterbatasannya.
Interesting to see some normal everyday life outside of Pyongyang!
What‘s the name of the song used in this video? - Edit: I found it.

Korea is beautiful in every way. Even in such an unsightly way, but familiar to the Koreans themselves. Thank you very much for the footage from their lives.

They think that communism is hell, yet they know nothing about it 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️

a rare moment to see people not using cell phones and no dependence on cell phones, another very good side of North Korea 😍👍
Such a wonderful place! Wait a minute, nobody is carrying purchased goods. What wonderful place.
No gadget, only work and studying.. 😢
❤ cakep 😊😊😊
although they are still relativity poor, they seem like their doing better than what the media tells us
still more developed and clean than my country
Sure, in their capital. But they won't let us see the rest of the country (with limited, cherry-picked exceptions), so it's hard to say what the country truly looks like...
@@dylan_00 This is not remotely near the capital.
@@dylan_00this isn't the capital...it's rural village... Btw, provincial cities are beautiful too...
@@dylan_00This is rural north korea. This channel has videos from pyongyang and actual cities, you should go watch them. It's honestly not that different from most developing countries and seems pretty developed for a country that's sanctioned/embargoed by its own allies.

Matamu jaman dulu, di Indonesia kehidupan kaya gitu bahkan jauh lebih primitif juga banyak tong. Lu hidup di goa kah?!
Seems like a chill place, definitely would walk around the place. Although probably not much interesting to buy.
Really enjoy watching videos from real North Korea. There's "too much" Pyongyang and not enough other towns and villages of this crazy-yet-completely-normal country.
Fellow, there is food. How there cannot be interesting things to buy?

What year is it ? People wear masks. But I've heard korean leader declared they don't have covid. So why people are masked ?
It's flu season.
If this is a modern scene..
The DPRK has not had a COVID outbreak, it is in the same state of vulnerability as most people were in 2019-2020-2021 before vaccinations. The virus can still have a large outbreak in its people who lack herd immunity - because they were safeguarded against until now thanks to completely closed borders.
Well, its pretty common in that part of the world to wear masks. Even before the whole covid thing.
@@Mrjongun it is very common in Far East Asia, but not in North Korea. Maybe the korean leader changed his mind or that was shot in some rural region in China.

I have a genuine question: Does the average person there eat well? In Thailand for example they have a huge wealth gap with many poor people and extremely rich hi-so class. But even poor people in Thailand still get to eat plenty of OK food (clean water, fresh fruit and veggies, eggs, milk, etc...). How is it in NK in that regard? I can Google this but don't trust the curated results. I'd rather get your perspective because you lived there and have seen it first hand.
A market with hardly any produce?
Have you ever been at markets?
@@user-ee6nb9ec6v Lots. In the UK, our markets are stocked full of fruit, vegetables, cheeses, meats, and many other items. The markets in the DPRK look bare, and there are many reports of starving people.
@@andymann6061not just in fully developed nations but markets in the "developing" world like in Thailand, Egypt, and other places I've been didn't look as bare as this one. I just asked him a question about how people there eat. I hope he responds as I too have heard reports of malnutrition and I'm genuinely curious.
How are you allowed to post this stuff? Wont they send you off to the gulags for posting on youtube like this?
To the best of my knowledge, he was in Korea in connection with foreign diplomacy. Possibly as embassy staff or the spouse of one. I could be wrong but I think I saw that somewhere.
He's an indonesian government worker. North korea doesn't care about him, they only dislike tourists and westerners taking pictures. Plus, diplomatic immunity and good relations with indonesia.
There's loads of videos from the DPRK on youtube, it's far from illegal.

You're not allowed to record without special permissions.
