Even though you’re not feeling inspired at the moment, KNOW that Many of us are feeling Awesomely inspired!!! BEAUTIFUL trees and views thank you, Thank You for sharing them :-) They helphelp bring calm to the heart and mind for those of us who Need to see things like this...Sooo thankful you are sharing this beauty 🤗
Gretchen, yes, exactly!! Not every adventure or challenge is fun all the time! We have to take the bad with the good!! Thank you for your clarity and insight! Hugs, Carolyn
I ALWAYS enjoy the Beauty you send... my husband and I are getting ready to start our own new RV adventure!! We just purchased a Newmar Bay Star motorhome... I asked to keep it at the location where we purchased it because I’m not comfortable driving it yet... I feel like I need a Lot more practice but I think I’m only going to get one more time and then I’m on my own, YIKES! Not looking forward to tunnels and tall bridges with metal grids that I don’t like driving over as it feels like I’m walking on ice...., maybe practice will make perfect one day, we’ll see. YOU help me be brave about the new things I’ll be trying... looking forward to awe inspiring views around our beautiful United States! We are selling our condo to move into a moving condo, along with our little Italian Greyhound, Madison..... trying to have faith that all will work out one way or another... I hear the RV community is as friendly and helpful as can be :-)
Glad you said that Gretchen. I know it's the foot and blister pain talking, Carolyn, but the trees ARE beautiful! Not at all boring. The trail is beautiful! I enjoy seeing that and enjoyed the moments you were just walking (no talking) - it allowed me to feel almost as if I was doing the hike myself. I would so much rather be there, enjoying the "boring" forest trail, than going to work. And just so there is no confusion - I like your talking and commentary also. I'm just saying I appreciate the variety of experiences you are providing. I have done many hikes in the past and still remember my first one through the Presidential Range of the White Mountains in the '70's. I learned A LOT about being aware of hot spots, mole skin and foot care! In particular, I remember the mornings, when my blistered feet were cold and stiff, having to put on my boots and walking thru that first mile of intense pain until things loosened up. You have my sincere empathy with what you're going through with your feet!
I was a Boy Scout and we always hiked with two pairs of socks on to prevent blisters. First pair cotton to absorb moisture and the second pair wool for padding.
CAROLYN. You are so amazing. I understand being tired of the Forrest as beautiful as it is I like open areas too. You have inspired me so much over the past few years. This is so so inspiring. Thank you for sharing this. Keep trucking Flyby. Lol. Hugs
I appreciate that you are real about this. Everyone expects vanlife or hiking or camping or life itself to be this endless Instagram experience. It’s not. It can be boring and tiring and painful and sweaty and that doesn’t mean it’s not fabulous. You are a beast, girlfriend, with guts, and grit by the buckets full. Good for you!
Take care of those open blisters...so easy to have them get infected and go septic.... I always mixed powdered goldenseal with powdered comfrey and used that for extreme first aid. Lightweight and it really works. Colloidal silver could work and also pine pitch is a powerful antibacterial too!
I love that you are real, true, honest. Whatever journey you choose is the right one for your fans. Thank you for sharing your struggles and this beautiful world.
you may be bored but how blessed you are to be healthy enough to make this journey and to have so many people going along with you . You have so many people who never met you but love you and pray for you and for your journey to be a wonderful one! Yes, you are truly blessed! Stay well and carry on!
Sam - yes!!! Not sure why some want to believe every adventure and experience is rainbows and butterflies.. but you know me,,, not one to sugarcoat! Thank you!
Though I love your commentary and thoughts on the trail... as someone else pointed out...when it's just the sound of your footsteps on the trail... that is also beautiful. It's a bit like being there... minus the blisters of course. : )
I loved this video NO BS in true Carolyn style the good the bad and ugly --so inspiring to watch you--- my mind goes nut justing thinking If that was me- nothing but forest for day's on end ---just amazing and your determination is off the chats I LOVE IT --Thank you so much for sharing this amazing trip with all of us Carolyn
It is amazing how different being on the east slope of the cascades instead of the west slope. If the trail was on the west slope it would be water crossing after water crossing.
That's gorgeous! Pain makes it all seem not so good. Your feet are also adjusting to new muscles usage in your legs and back, your posture has changed, throwing your feet into different positioning. Take it from a rehab Nurse, this too shall pass. . Keep going, we are rooting for you.
It strikes me a bit odd that she's yet to realize that the benefit of proper footwear and foot care far outweigh the minimal negative impact of a little additional pack weight.
Seems to me if you are out of shape in the beginning you will begin to use muscles unused for a long time, you will begin to walk differently, muscles strengthen and posture changes. I'm sure after 2 pairs of different boots and resting she realized her error. Anyone hiking for that long finds many ways to stop, change or reposition. She is 100 miles in and her struggles are about par. Ask any hiker, even those in super great shape, pain is with you ALWAYS in one way or another on the PCT or Appalachia Trail.m
I'm losing weight because I've decided to possibly try this like you! I was walking 16 hours a day as a nurses aide not too long ago. I had two full time jobs back to bàck. If I could do it I would love it! Dirty socks and all.....What a memory you will have Carolyn! Lucky ducky you
I miss the wilderness when we went camping I remember I really didn't want to go home Something so serene and calming that brings you back to reality more who'd want to leave ? Love this and outside you would have the breathe of fresh air you seem to me here Thanks Carolyn
Hi Carolyn, I realize your PCT trip is over by now but take heart in the fact that there are people like me who are looking forward to watching this adventure unfold. I have enjoyed watching your journey from day one when you hiked maybe 2-3 miles! I am 62 and always dreamed Of doing what you have accomplished! I love the PNW and it’s beauty, you’re an inspiration to me. I am sorry about the blisters. I know how painful they can be. I imagine you’re all healed up by now. At some point, I have some questions for you. But they can wait for now. Smile and know you bring joy to others just by being you!
You chose a beautiful camping spot! You definitely sound tired and bored, but you're a trooper Carolyn, I know you'll carry on (I wouldn't but you will, LOL). Hope your blisters heal soon, they're so painful, I can't imagine hiking like that. You're doing GREAT! Just know that we're all with ya Carolyn! Hang in there!
Just when I was thinking what a clear path you come to that high tree over the trail! Gorgeous forests, I see changes from fire damaged, to new growth, beautiful pines.
Gretchen Vogel already said what I and many more are thinking Appreciate your effort and Thank You for the trees ... well all of it ... mother nature in spectacular beauty.
Thanks for keeping it real! Major props to you for keeping on truckin' when it's not pretty or fun! I'm impressed! There sure are some beautiful spots mixed in with the monotony. I hope they made the rest worth it.
I really admire you for getting out there and doing so much with your life. Between living in an RV and now hiking all on your own. I think its wonderful. I'd like to think if I had the money I could do the RV life. My youngest granddaughter wants me to sell my house, get an RV, and the 2 of us just travel. I've been seriously thinking about it. (Safety is the one thing that worries me.) (Downsizing and getting rid of stuff would probably takeva couple of months. Lol) It's awesome you are doing such a long hike all on your own. Honestly I do worry about your safety. It seems so lonely on the trail. Hopefully you have someone you check in with daily. Thank you for the sharing your experiences with us. And inspiring us. Beautiful view when you got to the meadow and then when you showed us the mountain. Stay safe.
I was on Mt Hood, MT Paulina, 3 Sisters, & the bachelor this july. It was awesome! Oregon is a beautiful place! You keep your spirits up and know you are blessed. Gorgeous views!
I'm not sure which is worse wgen hiking going thru the"green tunnel" forever or hiking thru the burnt out green tunnel. Fire is so destructive even when necessary. Thanks for showing us the good, the bad and the ugly!! You are terrific Carolyn and I'm so happy for you. Thanks also for inspiring me to finally get off my butt and make things happen so I too can truly enjoy and experience the life I was meant to have!!😍
I love how you let the ‘boring’ quiet and tedious parts of your trek. Allowing the silence is challenging when you’re all caught up in the busy-busy. 👍
I know you are off the trial right now in real life, but this is pretty amazing...how you were able to continue thru the pain. I'm glad you are well and taking a break now.
Wow you are amazing!! I'm in an Alaskan hospital with heart failure, but love walking with you on this adventure. The blisters sound horrific, wish you didn't have that to contend with, but you push forward anyway as we must do. Thanks for the ride!
🙏 Sending a prayer your way. I am also unable to do any hiking myself. I appreciate that Carolyn is sharing so much of her travels/adventures with us all :)
I can't imagine the discomfort you were going through with all the blisters! Teaching moment thoughts would be for me to find the type shoe best for my feet. Enjoyed the forest area with the different types of landscapes! Even through pain you managed to share another wonderful vlog with us. Thank you! Hugs & Love Always, Ms Rose :)
Sooo funny about your spoons, sticks and tent stakes. I really needed a laugh tonight. So happy this vid popped up!! Carolyn, thanks so much for the work you've been putting in sharing this beautiful, awe inspiring journey with us. You were so cute when you came to the meadow!! I bet it was a beautiful site after all the woods6!!😍
I think the forest has its own special beauty. I tend to get a little paranoid though after awhile the few times I've hiked by myself in the woods...only day hikes. My minds starts thinking ya know big foot could actually be hiding in here and no one would ever know it haha 😆. Anyway I was thinking as I watched this video 'wow how awesome and brave this gal is I'm watching ☺'. You are so inspiring! Thank you
What about keeping a journal? Like, when boredom sets in, rest and write. Wrap your mind around it all. It is a lot to do on a daily basis.....I give you so much credit for not only making this journey and facing the joys and struggles, but also sharing it with us all.
Wow. I love your vlogs every time. Beautiful scenes, fascinating landscapes, gorgeous narrator. Thank you for putting these vlogs together. Watching your adventures is very inspiring and relaxing for me.
Carolyn, I know this is tuff for you but you are out there doing it and enjoy the beautiful views. You go girl I loved this video because it included hiking and the sound of your feet. 😘
Wow. What you are doing is really very amazing! Not only are you on this long trek and sharing it with so many online friends, but you are editing and posting videos etc online from these remote locations! You could write a how to book on that alone! Thank you again for sharing your adventures with us. : ) Like many others here, I feel like you are one of my friends. I always look forward to checking in to see your new posts here.
I love love love the Forest, so I’m not bored at all. 🥰Hoping you’re able to pick up extra socks at REI and that will help your feet. I’m sure the hikers coming behind you are getting a laugh at the hike of the magical appearing spoons.
You can purchase gel pads that slide over one toe but protect two. I have crooked toes with bony knuckles. The protecters are like little sleeves that keep bones from rubbing through the skin and stop blisters from forming. I get mine in Walmart in the Medicine dept. Dr. Scholl's area.
God I couldn’t do that, the boardom would make me crazy. I love solitude as a solo rver but have never been a hiker. I admire your determination! When you’ve had enough stop! ❤️👍
You bombed my trip length guess of 300 miles. You have been sounding disenchanted and hurting badly, for many miles now. I would have given up a long time ago. Hugs, you are sooo strong.
Beautiful I love walking with you . I have gotten out and been walking more then ever ,I use a cane because I have RA in my joints and other medical problems as well you have inspired me to try my best at getting out of my chair and moving and walking and I want to give you a big thank you for that . I am getting stronger every day and I am sure even my Doctors would thank you too. Always reach for the stars . Take a break for a while relax by a nice creek or lake ,breath in that fresh mountain air . I am sure that we will all be here when your ready to hit the trail again. I know I will be even if I am a day late and a dollar short. :)
Hey Carolyn thanks for the video I enjoyed it but the next time if you do this again I suggest that you do it when a mountain bike with the basket on the back of the bike that's how I get around and I put my backpack inside the basket because I know what the blisters feels like it's not good
I thought the tree lined path was beautiful! It was kinda shocking/sad to see all the cut trees laying around. Glad you found a beautiful place to set up camp and rest up. Knowing that blisters became such a problem, I am appreciative that you let us all know that you are ok and on vacation healing up 👍Safe & happy travels :)
Here in 🇨🇦 we have what they call “double socks” two in one seamed together to avoid blisters. I get them from the Running Room. I actually did 60kms in 2 days wearing them with not one blister hiking. You definitely needed to pack more socks for your trip. I aways keep on pair wool or alpaca socks for sleeping only at night. Congrats on getting to the Three Sisters though ... Cheers!
If the PCT was all amazing views... it would be overcrowded with peeping tourists and wanna-be hikers! I love the peace and quiet of the forest... I am living it through you!
You are doing great! We love you. Now that you are in the three Sisters area you will have lots of views, 3 Sisters, Broken Top, Mt. Bachelor, lots of meadows. I love all that you are sharing. Thank you so much. I would never get to see this without your poor blistered feet doing this one step at a time!👍
I know you got bored with the forest because you hiked in it for days, and your feet hurt, but it was still beautiful. All that walking - so good for your bones!
You are so right about the dirty socks. Its too late now but you would have done better with extra socks so you could change them part way thru the day. I know the weight counts but the feet get the weight of our whole body. I was having trouble with my feet hurting bought new boots the one i always wear. For some reason they changed them, no padding. I was coming home from work with my feet, legs, hips and back hurting and new insoles didnt work. Had to get another pair and now am doi g great. Gotta take care of feet. Love all the footage, but i understand the boredom of the same thing day in day out. Hope you are enjoying your vacatio n
I realize you are done with the hike, but a question about all your foot problems: why are you sleeping in socks? I would think keeping your feet exposed and open to the air at night would help to reduce the blister problem by allowing them to dry out a bit more. If cold, maybe throw an extra piece of loose clothing over the foot area of the bag. Good job, though. More than this 69 year old would attempt!
What an inspiration. Not too sure if I would ever want to attempt what you are doing. So, my hat is off to you. BTW,I love hiking in forests. Nice shade and less wind and I love finding mushrooms and other things.
Like I said if you get anywhere near a Tractor Supply They have pants there that are called ridge cut they are awesome pants they don't fall apart or tear or rip up and they're waterproof but light weight.. Great for layering if you have to
Hi Carolyn 🙋 Walking with that camera, must bother your shoulder as well! So glad, you're back in your RV !But it has been an amazing hike, Thank you for letting me go with you, 💕 Esther from N.Y.
Hello Carolyn's RV Life, you should get some thin maxi pads and put them on the back of your boot heel to pad your heels I was told it will keep you from getting blisters
Even though you’re not feeling inspired at the moment, KNOW that Many of us are feeling Awesomely inspired!!!
BEAUTIFUL trees and views thank you, Thank You for sharing them :-)

You are so brave, and I admire you very much. At 70, I’m past hiking the major trails, so I enjoy them vicariously through your videos
The trail is beautiful without the views. A lot of us our behind a desk or stuck in a city watching your videos and appreciating all we see.
I was a Boy Scout and we always hiked with two pairs of socks on to prevent blisters. First pair cotton to absorb moisture and the second pair wool for padding.
cotton is a no no, now.

I feel so bad about your blisters. But you are still up and moving. You go girl. God Bless Carolyn.
My daughter started hiking and I am learning a lot to share from your adventure. Getting her toe socks. Thanks and be safe!
How exciting! I am sure she will have a lot of fun and glad you find my videos informative!
Such beautiful views! Thank you for continuing on this journey through the pain and taking us along.
Thank you for showing reality. I like the forest. Your videos of the landscapes are so pretty. I wish you healing for your feet.
Thanks for showing the reality of long hiking. Yep, the full range of feelings comes into play, including boredom.
Looks like your having more pain than fun honey!! You are an awesome lady-thank you for taking us on this journey
Thank you!

Thanks Gina!
What you are doing is amazing. Every step is carrying you toward a huge accomplishment.
I'm losing weight because I've decided to possibly try this like you! I was walking 16 hours a day as a nurses aide not too long ago. I had two full time jobs back to bàck. If I could do it I would love it! Dirty socks and all.....What a memory you will have Carolyn! Lucky ducky you
Thank you so much for taking us with you on your journey. You are amazing
I'm impressed by how much trail maintenance has been done through the burn area.
Being out in nature, especially the woods with the scent of pine is heaven to me!🌲☀💚
I miss the wilderness when we went camping I remember I really didn't want to go home Something so serene and calming that brings you back to reality more who'd want to leave ? Love this and outside you would have the breathe of fresh air you seem to me here Thanks Carolyn
The trail by the lake with reflections of the clouds, oh so pretty!

The trail looks ruff and very dangerous. I’m proud of you!! You’re my hero, superhero and so awesome taking us all with you!! Blessings and love 💕💕💕💕
Just when I was thinking what a clear path you come to that high tree over the trail! Gorgeous forests, I see changes from fire damaged, to new growth, beautiful pines.
Your music made the forest walk peaceful! 3 sisters is crazy beautiful!Amazing how many people there are on this trail...I had no idea!

Feel blessed that you live in a country with so many trees.... not all do. I love trees and sure miss the changing colours and variety.
I'm reading Wild, by Cheryl Strayed. Watching you hike the same trail, makes it so much more alive ! Thank you.
I really admire you for getting out there and doing so much with your life. Between living in an RV and now hiking all on your own. I think its wonderful. So inspired by your determination. Thanks for being us along!
Thanks for the honesty... I never would has associated mosquitoes with the PCT... I am glad you’re off the trail for good and resting
Right? lol but the mosquitos can really be horrible! Thanks for your feedback!
I'm easy to entertain....I love the woods! Also enjoy the vistas! Sorry about your feet, pain can really take the joy out of things.
I remember your comment that recharging devices w/ solar would be a headache because of all the tree cover.
Girl, stop loosing those spoons! Thanks for sharing. Don’t push yourself too hard. I am very proud of you. Goldie in Jax. Fl.

Next hike: 12 spoons, 12 pairs of socks.
haha! Right?!
Excellent video! Totally enjoying going along with you on your hike. Thank you so much for sharing your incredible journey! 👍👍👍👍👍
Wow. I love your vlogs every time. Beautiful scenes, fascinating landscapes, gorgeous narrator. Thank you for putting these vlogs together. Watching your adventures is very inspiring and relaxing for me.
Cannot help but wonder how good the first air is for your body. Still amazing and truly inspiring warrior woman. God bless.
Exactly❤ I feel as is I'm out there on the trail...even though I will never walk it...it makes me so happy to see this❤
I don’t know how you do all you do but I love going along. I am interested in more of your meal preps? ❤️
Glad you are enjoying the journey Pat!
Oh gosh I just had to steal a couple of screenshots! So beautiful, thank you for taking me there...XO, Kelly
Thanks you for sharing your journey!
Thanks, it's a joy to do so!
I would have twisted my ankle by now! Glad you decided to end your trip. You enjoyed the adventure!
Carolyn, I know this is tuff for you but you are out there doing it and enjoy the beautiful views. You go girl I loved this video because it included hiking and the sound of your feet. 😘
I don’t think my feet could take tennis shoes hiking that far. You’re doing pretty good. Thanks for taking us along with you.

You bombed my trip length guess of 300 miles. You have been sounding disenchanted and hurting badly, for many miles now. I would have given up a long time ago. Hugs, you are sooo strong.
So beautiful There thank you for sharing it.
Thank you for taking us along,
🤣🤣 Canadian Jay down there keeping you company, representative of all us Canadians sending you strength! ❤️💕❤️
Thank you Uncle Mo for your comment & It is a joy to be able to share it with you all!
Cheers!
At least you were in the shade while it was so hot!
@Gretchen Vogel I totally agree with your comment. I've enjoyed these vlogs more than any Carolyn adventure.
Fantastic voyage!
If the PCT was all amazing views... it would be overcrowded with peeping tourists and wanna-be hikers! I love the peace and quiet of the forest... I am living it through you!
Kyle yes, that's an excellent point! It WAS pretty crowded, but the gorgeous spots, even more so. Great observation! Thanks. Carolyn
Oh my god!!that was so real!!Great video!!hang in there you can do it. Rest when you can!slow down. Be safe!beautiful!❤🙏
Oh, your poor feet! I think you are right about the cause of the blisters. 🙁 Good thing you brought that mosquito net!
I think is would be impossible with out one! Haha - Thank you for your comment!
Love the area you are in. Hope your toes are healing up
It is not always so picturesque.PCT reality. Sounds like you have had about enough. Wow cut Iogs are everywhere. Nice meadow. Beautiful sisters.
Carolyn: stick to it, you will get there eventually! Mel
Great episode
You are so right about the dirty socks. Its too late now but you would have done better with extra socks so you could change them part way thru the day. I know the weight counts but the feet get the weight of our whole body. I was having trouble with my feet hurting bought new boots the one i always wear. For some reason they changed them, no padding. I was coming home from work with my feet, legs, hips and back hurting and new insoles didnt work. Had to get another pair and now am doi g great. Gotta take care of feet.
Love all the footage, but i understand the boredom of the same thing day in day out. Hope you are enjoying your vacatio n
I wear trail running gaiters to help keep out the dirt and small rocks. It helps a lot. They're pretty inexpensive on Amazon.
Amazing! Beautifully done!
I would guess to keep warm! Remember it was a lot cooler where she was!!😎💕
What an inspiration. Not too sure if I would ever want to attempt what you are doing. So, my hat is off to you. BTW,I love hiking in forests. Nice shade and less wind and I love finding mushrooms and other things.
So relieving when the trail opens up to some sky or water! I’m a serious tree lover but repetition is toooo much. Interesting how that works.
The "Waldo Tree" is at Island Lake. My old district.
I love watching your hiking videos! 🥰🙏🏻✨
Love your journey Carolyn! Brave courageous Lady! Be safe!
Hello Carolyn's RV Life, you should get some thin maxi pads and put them on the back of your boot heel to pad your heels I was told it will keep you from getting blisters
i loved those boring trees!
