And they do hate the majority of normal gamers. BUT they’re still on the cutting edge of news for whatever reason, and i like watching their trailers.       Hey Big Fry, have you ever thought about a low effort second channel where you post random vids on random genres? Basically somewhere you can talk about what you're playing/enjoy that's not an fps. I get you don't want to mess with the brand by uploading 3rd person rpgs or whatever but you are my favorite youtuber by a landslide, with everyone dropping off the platform from fatigue I want you to still enjoy making videos. And recently, fps has been hurting badly. Would be cool to see what you enjoy when the cameras are off.

    To be honest good graphics doesn't impress me anymore. If the AI and gameplay loop is good the game will most likely be good. This footage does not really show any of those two. (Edit: by "not showing any of these two" I am referring to good AI and a good gameplay loop. Graphics is definitely good.)

      In terms of graphics I hard disagree with you on the video not showing that in the game lmao, looks better than most games coming out today. But I will agree the AI atleast in this gameplay looks very lacking

      AI is the biggest thing that gaming in general has been sleeping on. I'll I am impressed with the AI in Sons Of the Forest but other then that not much else. Probably why I still play the crap out of STALKER.

      Or just to get a decent frame rate. UE5 and all this foilage is going to NUKE most people's PC's. Probably why the gameplay is slow fucking slow paced in this trailer. Fast movements would reveal the jank.

      @@Tacti_catthat’s not how frame rates work lol, moving faster might SLIGHTLY decrease frame rate because your moving the player controller through the environment at a faster rate and hitting foliage and shit, but it would not be that noticeable

      @@riloegaming Are there not ways to optimize stuff like that? I watched a video talking about how this game is going to have one of the most advanced ballistic systems ever, and if that’s true, plus 100’s of presumable well made AI, plus advanced foliage system, how would one optimize?

      I agree with you, with the caveat that elevation + long range weapons can turn games like this into a camper-fest. You have to carefully craft the shooting lanes so that every map doesn't just turn into a snipe-off, where sniper rifles/dmr's are mandatory.

      They are right next to paddy fields...which are indeed flat...so it makes sense the small part of the map they are in during this playthrough is flat.

    The amount of detail that's being shown even in a pre-alpha setting is SUPER impressive. They don't try to stage anything too unrealistic, they don't pussyfoot around with unneeded mechanics, this is the true definition of RAW. Ai improvements, not knowing what faction missions look like, stuff like that would've been nice to see before hand, but I'm happy we got something rather than nothing. If people aren't amused by this in the slightest, they're looking at this really close minded.

If you don’t think what a studio their size is doing is deemed impressive, you’re simply not getting the big picture of what this game is going to accomplish. Is it perfect? No. I even say there’s some things that would’ve been nice to see, but it is RAW and that’s all we wanted at the end of the day.

    The gauze looks kinda silly, but they can alleviate that silliness by either having the player PACK the wound in the animation instead of wrap it kinda generically, or they can add combat shears and force the player to cut through their sleeve, pant leg, shirt to access the wound and address it with the combat gauze.
    The AI look kinda lifeless currently but I’m hopeful because a healthy, **punctual** back and forth between the devs and the community should really shape this experience up nicely once the ball gets rolling with early access. I’ve seen dozens of devs drop an early access title with less than what we’ve seen with Gray Zone, ground branch STILL doesn’t have sophisticated AI and they’ve been working on that game for years now.

      No FPS game really has good AI. They have good game design that makes the AI look good ie FEAR. Only good FPS game that has Good AI are STALKER mods or vanilla because that game had good AI from onset. RON Tarkov have SHIT AI. COD? SHIT AI.

    One thing I really would love to see in games with "realistic healing" is that they would actually make the "healing" and "damage" matter more. What I mean is:
    Getting hit/taking damage:
    - Conditional animations depending where you have been hit and how you have "healed" it.
    - Are you bleeding? (reduced stamina and speed, needs bandage or dies after a while.
    - Broken leg/arm? (reduced speed, aiming down slower, accuracy poorer, can't use the limb aka can't wield 2-handed weapons, needs splint or team mate to help move around when leg is broken (team mate controls the movement but you can still shoot etc.)
    - Hit in the head but still alive? Maybe lost eye? (reduced visibility, can't aim down the sight, random blur effect for a moment (fallout style), maybe require quick extraction or will die).
    - animations change depending how you are hurt and will stay until you extract. There is no health bar etc and "healing" the wound correctly will make you to be "at full health" but you will have the mentioned "debuffs" and in some cases you have to abandon the mission and extract asap.
    Healing:
    - Healing items are bit like in Tarkov and you have to use correct ones for the correct parts of the body (choose the body part similar way as checking your body in the Green Hell game)
    - Healing items are visible whole match and clothing/body armor/helmet etc. can be removed in process of adding healing item like bandaging arm (sleeve moved upwards or cut).
    - Team mates can "heal" you as well and carry/give shoulder etc.
    - Maybe use the items/nature around you if you are missing correct healing item to ease the pain and give fighting/extraction chance.
    Idea is that injuries are big part of the combat loop and you return to "full health" after healing in most cases but your injuries cause "debuffs" that you have to deal with. Basically longer and more hits you take, less you can do and eventually collapse or can't move anymore without help which means that if there is no team mates left, you will die.
    Humans are crazy resilient towards injuries and adrenaline is hell of a drug. It's pretty unrealistic for humans to instantly just die without taking lethal hit to vital organs and even then it can take several minutes to actually perish.
    Also I'd love to see these mechanics to work for NPCs as well but maybe the lack of the high end medical equipment means that they rarely can get back up again, however that guy you just shot and saw to fall behind that barrier can still be alive waiting your ass to come close enough for the last chance to take your life. This would mean that double tapping is viable and sometimes important thing to do. Even if the enemy cannot stand anymore or is taking their last breath, it does not mean they cannot aim at you and pull the trigger one more time.

    They key is the gameplay loop. What's going to keep me and my friends playing this, session after session? What sets this title apart? Are they just building gunplay mechanics and hoping a game emerges? Or are the features/mechanics built to serve a compelling meta-game?

      @@BigfryTV i didnt really imply that, but to be fair i didnt say my point either. i will always believe a game like this should at least entertain someone for at least 100 hours. i didnt really like their argument because they took the OP’s comment and made an extreme assumption. and then they pointed out that 20 hours is good enough for a 40 dollar price tag on a game… that one was a rough one

      I think it's a bit obtuse to ignore the game type and say "as long as you get your 20 hrs you're good." Simulation style games need a compelling reason to keep simulating. For Tarkov it's the loot/extraction/progression hook. Without that, no one would endure Tarkov's horseshit for very long. DayZ it's the gear acquisition -> interactions/roleplaying that's the hook, otherwise no one would endure DayZ's endless running. What's the hook.

    im confused are people going to be roaming the world freely like DayZ, Tarkov, or Arma or is everyone going to be doing missions and running into each other that way? Would like to figure out if this is going to be a true open world sandbox experience or if its a drawn back open world experience.

      From my understanding you deploy from your FOB into the world and can do what you want. In order to progress you do missions and extract the gear back to FOB. But you can roam around and pick fights with whoever

      I'm thinking this is going to be a Arma 3 style wasteland, 3 factions, one huge map, missions, the fob is a safe zone but I heard that the fob for each faction will be raidable and can be taken by a faction but I'm not sure on that.

      Mixture of all three I think. The traders/characters are sort of in a menu, which is similar to Tarkov, but you will be able to fly in/out of the actual zone by helicopter so it’s similar to Arma or DayZ at the same time.

    A note about the AI, apparently the devs wanted to record a run specifically where nobody in the player squad died and that took up to 7 tries, there are also a couple of instances where the AI lands shots first or even lands a headshot that was ricocheted, they also have voicelines they are just for the most part engaging from too far a way to be heard clearly. All of that being said the pathing does need serious work they seem to have a hard time getting into cover in a way that makes sense, otherwise very pleased with what we've seen so far.

      Not necessarily the game mechanics themselves, but I do see how it also looks a lot like Arma as well.

    To be fair, the sniper might’ve been out of minimum engagement range for the AI, which arma reforger also has and if your out of it they ether stand around or take cover since it doesn’t necessarily register

    You and Riloe are probably the ones I will listen to when deciding whether or not I will buy this game, imo it doesn’t look as intense as I thought it would, I really want them to implement some sort of air support like Insurgency sandstorm, makes gunfights way more thrilling and chaotic just like Helldivers 2 but in a tactical genre

      This game isn’t in pre alpha, even if they say it is it isn’t because no one releases gameplay in pre alpha. Not all devs have the exact same development cycle and not all games look complete in pre alpha

    with that healing animation (any really) they should make it so the bandage stays there until you get back to a FOB, just more immersive. bandage wont just disappear unless it falls off..

    The last FPS game I was actually excited about is Crysis from 2007, but that was mostly for the breakthrough in graphics... Gray Zone is looking pretty nice and has my interest.

    I think most people are concerned about anti cheat and preemptive measures against rule breakers. I could care less how things look at this point. We want something that is worth our longevity. I'd like to hear more from the devs about their intentions and goals when it comes to cheaters and hackers.

      I don't think it'll be that demanding, usually UE5 games are laggy even at trailers/demo. But this game looks buttery smooth which is impressive.

    The game, especially for a pre alpha looks fkn amazing! ther eis however some small details I would love to see: for example when using bandages, as you already said they are a bit thick and i would love to see the bandages stay on the arm for a little while with a bit of realistic "gore". Of course this is complaining at a high level, but after all this game is marketed as a highly realistic title. And with the Level of Realism in the eating animations etc. I think it just has to be part of the game!

    There are AI voicelines that can be heard. You can hear chatter as they approach the 1st conflict, and later when he’s in the alley you can hear “let’s fucking get them” or something to that extent before they ranger file and clear the market/bazaar looking area.

    indoor and outdoor audio really need a work, also weapon handling animation, i would prefer the Operator using a C grip rather than the default grip, also AI need a work but everything going great, hopefully the early access goes well, also AI should shout and yell when engaging

    The visuals are solid. I just want to see the AI of the enemies and what the gameplay loop is like before I decide to update my PC for this game. Because these visuals would absolutely cook my 3070ti with the settings maxed.

    One of the upsides to a fully featured UE5 titles is the global illumination with bounce lighting. That’s why games need to move to real time ray tracing as a standard so the lighting can carry the immersion almost single handedly. Only problem will be the majority of PC players rigs not being able to run it well.

    The gauze is actually decently realistic. You want a whole big pack of it to absorb blood and start the clotting process.

      Mate, I adore Ready or Not, but I have to admit that it definitely does not have good looking character movement when it comes to the player models. For the AI, yes, but not the player animations.

      I think the issue is that the front hand seems stiff af. Like the front arm doesn't move at all when the player is moving fast or whatever. It gives me the same feeling as Ground Branch when you jog with your weapon shouldered, instead of at low or high ready

    After watching the gameplay, what happened to the ballistics system? Some of those guys were tanking 4-5 shots in the chest and walking it off. Also, why was there no looting of the bodies shown? I’m excited for this game but I hope we don’t end up with another 6 days in fallujah situation.

    look fantastic for a pre ALPHA, audio need a compleet overall tho, and AI need more work to, time to kill seems a bit high for non armored oponent. has expected a bunch of pepole call it boring but they weren't the target audience anyway. i'm shure oppen beta will help a lot, i can alredy see things to report to the dev for improovement.

    Love the way this is looking. I do question why seemingly no games utilize a proper injury system visually. The animation for applying a bandage is cool and all, but it disappears after the animation is complete and no bandage is left on the player model. Project Zomboid does it where if your character is beat up, you look it. I think a system like this would be an awesome, next gen, system that would add a touch of realism that is missing from this gaming space.

    What the gameplay footage answered for me is, does what I'm seeing look good enough to give MFG my money for early access. And the answer is yes. Excited to watch them evolve and build this game into something great over the next 2-3 years.

    This game is everything I've been waiting for since I started playing these type of "milsim" games. Graphics look great, prop design/placement looks good, AI and some core features look unfinished (I am aware it's still WiP), now just hoping the story/narrative is decent and makes me *want* to progress.

    The size of how small that red dot/reflex sight is compared to the overall screen is worrying, may be just me but it's gonna be annoying to have such a small sight picture, you can barely see through it, Ive had this issue with other shooters before
