Bokator is heart and soul of all the Khmer. It is time the world to recognize and revived its back from almost lost in our Khmer culture due to many wars, environmental catastrophe and the latest deadliest the killing field and wish and hope all Khmer around the world should be proud of who they are and proud of being Khmer. I am very happy that the Sea 2023 Olympic make it a Kun Khmer in the Olympics that will makes a lot of Khmer around the world happy. I am very happy with the Olympics committee. . The french studied and recorded many things in Cambodia during the French colonial era including all the art and culture but It's strange that Kun Lbokator was never mentioned before. Until 2004, there was no evidence whatsoever about the Kun Lbokator existence.
Bokator martial art is almost extinct and San Kimsean tries his best to revive it. Many grandmasters in pol pot history were killed and some were scared to reveal their identity. But in 1993 Bokator was revived. And if you don't believe this it's up to you. Plus the Muay Thai martial art origins come from Bokator too.
The french saw khmer fighting as "Boxe Khmer" or "Boxe Cambodgienne" and it is written their own record. When the king died in the 1900s and the funeral was held. Fights from Hand to hand, wrestling and weapons fighting is on the royal funeral schedule.

มวยมีรากศัพท์จากภาษาสันสกฤตแปลว่าการรัดการคาดซึ่งตรงกับวัฒนธรรมของไทด้านบนคือพม่าไทลาว ส่วนคุน ละบ๊อกกาตาว หรือบ๊อกกาตาว เป็นศิลปะการต่อสู้แบบโบราณที่ชาวเขมร(อ้าง)ใช้ป้องกันตัวจากสัตว์ป่า รากศัพท์ บ๊อกกาตาว มาจากการผสมคำ คือ คำว่า บ๊อก (bok) ที่แปลว่า ทุบ กระแทก และ คำว่า ตาว (tao) หมายถึง สิงโต (เขมรไม่มีสัตว์ประเภทสิงโต สิงโตจะมีในอินเดีย) และการแข่งขันโอลิมปิคครั้งที่141 ก่อนคริสต 216 ปี(พ.ศ.214)จะรู้ว่าในสมัยโรมันโบราณก็มีการแข่งขันมวยแล้ว และมวยในยุคนั้นก็ใช้การพันหมัดทำนองเดียวกับมวยไทย (แต่ใช้แถบหนัง ไม่ใช่ด้ายดิบ) ในเมื่อเขมรไม่มีสิงโต คำว่าbokของเขมรคืออินเดียเลียนแบบมาจากโรมัน และสิงโตมาจากสัตว์ในเทวสถานความเชื่อในอินเดียที่ปกครองเขมรในอดีต และประเทศเขมรราชวงศ์แรกที่อ้างก็ก่อตั้งพ.ศ.600-1000หลังโอลิมปิคหลายร้อยปี รูปปั้นสิงโตคือความเชื่อของอินเดียมาจากอินเดียไม่ใช่เขมรหรืออาเซี่ยน ทั้งหมดรับมาจากประเทศอื่นทั้งนั้น จึงควรใช้ชื่อว่ามวยหรือboxingแล้วระบุชื่อแต่ละประเทศไว้ด้านหลังจำว่ามวย มากกว่าจะมาเคลมเอาเป็นชาติเดียว เพราะยุเนสโก้ห่วยที่ตัดสินให้เป็นวัฒนธรรมของเขมร ที่จริงเป็นวัฒนธรรมของชาวไทที่ขอมรับมาจากไททางเหนือเพราะฝรั่งไม่มีมวยเตะและอินเดียคือมวยปล้ำ ปัญจะสัลัดอินโดภาคใต้ของไทยก็ไม่เตะ ดังนั้นมวยเตะต้องมาจากคำว่ามวยที่แปลว่ารัดมือไม่ใช่บ้อค และเขมรก็ไม่ใช่ขอมทั้งหมด คำว่าชาวไทกว้างกว่าคำว่าสยาม นี่จึงควรเป็นมวยไทที่ใช้การเตะร่วมมากกว่าบ๊อคแบบฝรั่งที่ไม่ใช้การเตะ

Why Thai people said Kun LBokator copied from Muay Tai? Tony Jaa just a young generation if compare to grandmaster San Kim Sean. I know many Cambodian people died during Khmer Rouge and just said copied from Ong Bak Movie just not reasonable. First, some old men in Cambodia who survivable after Khmer Rouge still maintain LBokator martial Art. Second, Tony Jaa born in Surin where used to be a part of Khmer Empire and many Khmer descendent not only in Surin but many part of Thailand like Buriram etc. Even Though now they became Thai and have a Thai nationality but they still have Khmer DNA. Third, we have proof in many temple in Cambodia like Angkor Wat, Bayon and many more. For me I don't say someone copy from someone I respect Thai people, Thai culture but saying LBokator copied from Muay Thai is wrong. Muay Thai is influenced by Kun LBokator is true.

Problem arises because a famous Khmer told Bogator is the origin of Muay Thai, Muay Lao and accusing Thais of stealing. Despite the fact that there is no clear evidence at all will refer to the images carved on the stone castle walls It's not like Muay Thai at all,but like wrestling.
