Yeah it's meant to look like one! Doing that with modern day rendering rather than the raster effects of the SNES means that i have to draw each horizontal line of the background separately. A bit of a performance hit with this dumb engine but it's pretty so I don't care lol

Why do Earthbound battlebacks work as well as they do for Touhou bosses?
I guess all it needs is to look trippy lol. I'd kill for a touhou game on the SNES, raster effects are such a cool thing that games don't do anymore
