  • Ulm - an independent city in the south of Germany, in the state of Baden-Württemberg, in the Tübingen area, seat of the Donau-Iller district and the Alb-Donau district, to which the city does not belong. It is on the Danube. Albert Einstein's birthplace. The name Ulma appears in 856.
    Ulm highlights:
From the Minster to the Fishermen's Quarter
The two-country city - Ulm on the Baden-Württemberg side of the Danube and its sister city Neu-Ulm opposite in Bavaria - offers traditional and modern in exciting coexistence: historical sights such as the Ulm Minster with the highest church tower in the world and its impressive choir stalls, the romantic Fishermen's and Tanners' Quarter with its small bridges and narrow alleys and the stately Federal Fortress as the largest fortress ensemble in Europe alternate with highlights of sophisticated, contemporary architecture such as the triangular department store in the immediate vicinity of the Minster Square or the Weishaupt Art Gallery near the market square.
    Multifaceted art and culture landscape
The original art and culture from all eras in the renowned museums on both sides of the Danube is also diverse and varied: the spectrum ranges from the 40,000-year-old 'Lion Man', the oldest human-animal sculpture in the world, to masterpieces from the Middle Ages by Multscher and Syrlin, to works of art from the 20th century by Picasso, Warhol, Macke, Kollwitz and Scharff, among others.
On water, on land and at lofty heights
Ulm/Neu-Ulm also offers a wealth of leisure activities: a visit to the zoo with a walk-in glass tunnel through the aquarium, the Wiblingen monastery with its magnificent library hall or - for those with sporting ambitions - the Ecodrom electric kart track and the DAV climbing world are just a small selection.
A visit to the Danube adventure pool also promises a lot of fun. The motorhome parking area with 50 parking spaces is right next door. Brand new in Ulm: the airy Berblinger Tower. A 22-meter-high, walkable tower directly on the Danube in honor of Albrecht Ludwig Berblinger, the legendary tailor of Ulm.
