I've never studied Ricardo's career and I did not realize he was a good dancer like this. My memory of him was from Fantasy Island and Star Trek and car commercials.
I loved Cyd Charisse in this movie. She wasn't a star then, but the moment she began to dance it was inevitable that she would be a leading lady.

Ahh Cyd! Hollywood's most beautiful, graceful, talented, and athletic dancer! No one emoted to music through dance like Cyd Charisse!! I believe it was in this movie she got an injury that prevented her from doing Easter Parade, which Ann Miller was in.

First heard about Cyd Charisse in a film class in the 1980s taught by Jim Cash (co-writer of Top Gun) one of the films studied in the class was Singing In The Rain in which Cyd and Gene Kelly dance together in the number Broadway Melody.
Cash told the class that when he was a young man he wanted to "have Cyd Charisse's baby.
Sadly, MGM cut him after he injured his back.
Id he was the Fantasy Island guy and she was a Broadway Melody or Singing In the Rain star and one of the ballets, then, we're in for a treat. Cyd Charisse dance up a storm in this magnetic dance with her man, Ricardo Montalban. Even before his death on Jan 14, 2009 and before Cyd's death on Jun 8, 2007, they'd been dancing and with her flexible rolling toward table and touching the chair and making movements, they're starring in On An Island with You, Jimmy Durante, Esther Williams former Olympic swimmer turned movie star and her singing voice and Van Johnson are in this funny look into the light of a Hollywood film. This MGM film was made and the director was Richard Thorpe who does gimmicks for his Filmworks and this motion picture was made in what year and date. Considered Filmways TV. It didn't won an Oscar but it was a show-stopping number for the whole family. This movie also has aquatic scenes as well. Well back in August 29, 1957, this movie hit at the box office of a broadway play....Janis Paige was not the one in Doris Day Film, she passed that to another girl but she was an actress to build her high energy in films such as Two Gals and a Guy, Please Don't Eat the Daisies, Wallflower and many other role and documentaries. She was the girl who Live and Learn before she was in a cure story set in Bangkok called Natural Causes. But put her in class as Liz Bradville in Connie Francis' hit movie musical Follow The Boys. Their family and children said Paige has died on June 2, at aged 101.
