Seven minutes in and you just taught me what happened when I used toner on my hair for the first time and got hot roots… !!! I should’ve let it sit for five minutes. You’re a genius! I can’t wait to watch the rest of the video.
Fantastic.... you explain colour theory and the Global Hair Industry in they way we need to hear it. You are revolutionary true and honest but so very charming and funny. I wanna go to your classes. Thank Godness for good old you tube.
If you want less damage, then do a bleach soap cap to lighten your daughter's colored dark brown hair; use one ounce of bleach, 2 ounces of 20 volume peroxide and add some shampoo to is so it will be liquid consistency, not like the bleach mixture but like a thick conditioner kind of thickness. Put it all around like you would a conditioner at the shampoo area and watch for the hair to be lifted for dark orang shade; this holds red well. If she has regrowth, do the ends first, then the roots.
Just amazing. The science of all this makes me want to become a hair stylist... But I couldn't handle working in a salon if I were forced to do things wrong after learning the right way from pro's like this! Haha...
He answered all my problems with the coloring. I am tired of trying every color line out there, most of the time when you try to read or see in the swatch book any undertone and level you trust it and they usually don't come out as it says. i feel like been mislead from those books. Most of the time some brands level 4 goes almost black instead of chocolate brown with the longer process. I have to buy his color line, he should make videos along with it. He is very helpful, watched his videos for 3 days in a row.
Use a bleach soap cap; some bleach, water and soap; and make it liquid and apply at the shampoo bowl; ends first and immediately on the entire hair like you'll apply a conditioner; watch for development and wash out. Do not keep it on long, strand test every minute; this works fast and lifts about 3 levels.
These videos have been very helpful and inspiring! I had no idea that virgin hair can test color like that without having to be permentant. I'm definately going to check his site out. Lifting dark hair all the way up to a 7-8 in one application is priceless along with still being gentle to the hair!
Max is amazing! I learned sooooooo much! I wanted to hear more! I'm will definitely have to check out some classes with his color collection. Hopefully they have representatives in the east coast as good him! I look forward to it!
Hi i am in Florida if you are coming this way please!!!!let us know I am there. I don't understand color. Its always been my downfall. I need a beginner's class from You. I will attend all of your classes. Thank you for your instructions you are the color whisper in my book. You are a color geneous thank you. God bless you.
Max is very inspiring good teacher and I'm super excited to check out his brand. Also looking for more of his education. Let me know if there are any more classes he teaches
Thank you Max! I am happy that I found you, and I hope I can assist to your color clases, It is hard for me to get it! please keep doing more videos. xoxoxo
I love this man I wish he would do my hair wow amazing instructions love this guy your wonderful I'd fly or drive to you from North Carolina please tell me you have your own salon I'm sure you do but where ??? God bless you hope to hear from you soon!!!!💯
In some brands like Wella has sort of numbers like 2( Mat=green) - 1 (A=ash:blue'green) -8(preal=blue)- 9(Cendre=blue, violet) and other like Loreal has M(mat:green) A(ash: almost blue)! (*1) -Then by Wella I should to use 6.88+6.00? or 6.88+6.2n ?! As i know level 8 under ton is y/o and you used 8bb+8nn! I thought after 8 is 9 snd under tome is yello. (2*)-so you keep yellow, right? So... could you say way you used for level 2 to 6 (6 under tone= o/r) , 6bb+6aa? (3*)- I think should to keep under tone of level 7(orange) ,so (according to your previous about level 5 to 8) our formula should be 6bb+6aa(!?) is it ok? thanks
Use leval 7-8 since your desired color is 4-5. Level 4-5 holds a lot of red, so don't use the gold you mentioned, use level 7-8 ash or neutral; the warm color will still come through from your natural color, but it will turn out nice warm brown color. Note; at level 4-5 you can hardly avoid warm tones, so don't fight it beyond using neutral or ash, which are red-busters. Hope this helps: beautyhealthtravel channe.
I have a couple questions, At what level do you NOT need a filler to go darker? Ex: if someone is light med brown and wants to go dark brown.. Also, if a med brown wants to go darker, can you just add the dark color since you aren't removing pigment, or do you have to consider the underlying pigment of their natural level and of the darker color they want to be before hand?? Thanks so much. Max is awesome!!! Love your channel.. Very helpful!!
Also, it takes 60 minutes for the hair to lighten all the way to platinum and past the yellow (i've tried less processing times but it didn't work). @0 volume has worked great in the past and I'm sure it can continue to work great... but I have to find a way to keep it from drying out and expanding
There should be an "Ask Max" channel for our hair color questions! Q1: Max said if you want to go darker or stay the same color to use 10 vol developer. But can all the regular brands cover grey using 10 vol? I don't have access to Max or JBeverly color. Q 2: If I have to use 20 vol to cover the grey (only about 25% grey the rest is a level 3 very dk brown) I don't want to lift the natural level 3 hair I just want to match as close as possible. eg: I used 4A with 20 vol on my son (level 2 virgin hair) and it did lighten. thx!
Yes, it works with all colors that are used with peroxide. 10 volume is used to deposit color. Gray does not have any pigment, so there is nothing to lift and it needs a color that has more depositing power. You can do a strand test first if you want to be sure.
Mr. MAX , How do I get a salon class with you ? wow I love this. I have been to Juan Juan's academy 10 years ago. In LA. Just when he was starting everything. Are you coming to Nebraska anytime soon? help!!!
For the answer, please contact the JBeveryHills online, his assistant will get your message and give it to him. Max does not visit the channel often. Sorry for the inconvenience,
Hi. I bleached extensions. Beginning color was approximately 1b. I used powder bleach and 40 developer. Then I used a powder neural toner and power lighter. The extensions lifted to an orange color. How can I correct this? Initially the desired color was golden blonde with dimensions. At this point I really would just like to correct the orange color and whatever color I'm left with will be fine.

We have tried 30 volume in the past but it causes more damage and breakage. But lately, the bleach has been drying out within 30 min and stops working and I've had to reapply it. It also expands away from the roots. What can I do to prevent the bleach from drying out and expanding away from the roots?

I'm not a hairdresser I just like hearing Max explain things!

like listening to a master.
Wow thank you soooo much
Use the darkest neutral based color.
50 Volume, oh no! I have recorded a total bleach meltdown video, coming out soon; you'll see what 30-40V can do if the hairdresser is not careful.

Hi can anyone explain to me what is the meaning or how to read those label number on coloring cream box? like 6/3 5/3 8/2 etc. thanks.
And 2t uses just for going darker level!? how about , if natural level is 7N and wants 7G or 7 CG?
Max can you please tell me where I can get TT that makes the toner a demi colour? As I'm from the UK many thanks.
Where can I get one of those J Beverly Hills swatches he was holding up?
I think you can only get it if you had a salon and wanted to carry the color line. Not too sure

I have 17 school days till i graduate and i would love to use your color line in my shop....can u please please come visit me in Nebraska?

I recommend less volume. 40 is pretty strong and it also depends on the condition of each individual, so do a strand test before use.

Can someone have more than one natural level?

Each color company has a letter for the blue (usually B) and violet (V) so it would be 7B or 7V for level seven. You can use the color chart to see which letter they use for those two color bases. Also, they could have blue and violet additives or concentrated kickers/boosters that you can add to your color.
