really wish they added the partners(they could've explained their story as it's just bare being based off a bad paper mario game just with bowser having better/actual dialogue.) or other characters(the amiibo cards have rosalina & princess daisy when they could've been added along with other characters like wario/waluigi instead of being a standard new game.) as alphadream should've just been introduced to the switch instead of this and the remakes,though i did like some moments.(like making the koopalings interesting,bowser jr. and princess peach's moments especially when they smooch luigi at the end.)
i swear i remember having a copy of this game but i live in UK but i dont think my copy had the bros in the title? unless we accidentally bought an american one, i was too young to check for the PEGI rating
This game is not really the biggest missed opportunity, I think it's fine the way it is. Also, it would've been worse if the sixth game has lack of content such as no Battle Ring and also no minigames and most importantly no character development, mindlessly rehashing stuff from older Mario & Luigi games and as well as shoving classic Mario & Luigi pandering in your face. The sixth game would've been similar to that of the modern Pokemon games with its undeveloped plot and Gen 1 pandering, the sixth game would also would've been similar to that of the Star Wars sequel trilogy with its rehashing. a lot of people would have dislike the sixth game and onward and these people realize that both Paper Jam, Minion Quest and Bowser Jr.'s Journey are now masterpieces because they're very underrated and they have very good writing, good gameplay and good character development as well.
I loathed this fucking game for the longest time when it came out because the fourth game in the series meant so much to me when I was eleven years old, but I played it six times when I was in secondary school because I had nothing better to do with my life and in a way when I went through a rough period where I wanted to kill everyone I hated, this game was like a coping device for me, and I didn't even know it. Plus it introduced me to Photoshop and Powerpoint so there's a plus right there. Also the fact that the company who developed these five games went bankrupt gives me a bigger reason to play it religiously along with the other four ones.
