You are an excellent teacher. Where do you fall on predestination and free will? Torah to the Tribes on RUclips gives the order (line) of Melchizedek. Adam was first then Seth and so on until John the Baptist who passed on the order to Jesus when he was baptized-a very interesting study. Also I learned Malchizedek is an "office" or "title" not a person.

I'm having so much trouble wrapping my head around Melchizedek. I mean, was he mortal? Was he devine? Why was he "eternal"? "Made like the Son of God", "perpetually", etc. There are other Bible characters whose lineage isn't fully explained, yet they aren't described as "eternal". I understand he was a "type", but he was also an actual person too, right? I just don't get it.

He was a real person but the information about him is presented in a way that previews what the Messiah would be like when He came. For example, no lineage is mentioned (doesn’t mean he didn’t have any, as a human being he would have lineage), however as one with no lineage mentioned he is like one who would be eternal in nature (and would truly have no lineage as an eternal being). He was a priest of the most high but not from the tribe of Levi, just as Jesus was a priest offering Himself but not of the tribe of Levi (He was from the tribe of Judah who had no priestly positions).
