I don't know if that was the producers' intention when they hired the actress for the role but I can't help feel like she was meant to add some comic relief to the series. I know she was supposed to be this annoying and scheming woman, but the actress portraying her almost turned her into a comedic character.

Because Yongyan/Jiaqing (the emperor after him and Consort Ling's son) had to deal w/ that opium issue (corrupt official who was a favorite of Hongli/Qianlong's) and Yongyan's future son (the emperor after Yongyan) had to deal w/ a much costly/deadly issue too (Opium Wars against the British - and they lost the war too that cost them Hong Kong). Qing Dynasty got even worse ever since then until its complete decline.
I'm not sure who really sewed the embroidery on Ling Yunche's boots but someone explained on another channel that either way it was a deliberate attempt on Ruyi's part to make sure that it looks different from her usual style of embroidery - probably to evade situations like this. Her foresight indeed saved her this time.

青櫻珍惜的是和弘曆這些「深情對白」中透漏的的情感，一生一次的心動，雖說早期的弘曆確實是有這份真心實意，但是身為君王的有幾個能真正做到的？這些話，現在再聽一遍，仍然心動不已，仍然覺得如懿一生到底是沒能擁有「一次心」，她想要的「一生一次的心動」。霍建華和周迅兩位優質藝人將弘曆和青櫻演活了！太感人了，每次都會觸動內心最深的地方，感動不已。

霍建華誰說如懿傳輸給研禧攻略，如懿傳每重播一次我就看一次，而研禧攻略我一次都不想看。首先是因為這部戲每位演員的演技真的非常精湛，這部戲的所有演員演技都恰如其分，演技真的讓人入戲太深，劇情動人讓人跟著哭跟著笑，戲服非常講究，我還買了兩件如懿身上掛的飾品，我真的非常喜愛這部好戲，而且我一直都是霍建華的鐵粉，我超級欣賞喜歡霍建華優質的人品，他是一個很真摯的人！華哥我永遠挺你。+1
