'One hill, two tyres'. I rode FG for a out two years and got good at it, they're fun to race around traffic not to mention that they're the only bike that a keo spin can be done on so props to FG bikes. I got my FG stolen and its replacement isn't fixed!! No, it's a 90s steel frame (Columbus Nemo for the connoisseurs) with a carbon fork, road bike all the way. Now that I'm fluent in both riding styles all I can say is that road bikes are a real bike, fixed gears are just fun toys. a REAL hillbomb just isn't possible on an FG as this video proves...had the guy been on a roadbike he would have been fuckin flyinggggggg down it 😱
So as I understand, he is always skidding the tire on roughly the same part right because when he locks the wheel his legs are in the same position and it being a fixed gear means the tire will always skid on the same area. This makes for some very pronounced flat spots on that tire!
If the gear ratio was 1:1 (or certain others) then yes. But due to gear ratios it's possible to have as many "skid patches" as teeth on your cog. So if your cog has 14 teeth, every time you skid, the tire will be in one of 14 different positions each time. This is why choosing the correct ratio is important for fixed gear
the rider’s good, but unless he’s out for skid practice there’s too much rubber wasted,; skidding can be likened to swearing; when in excess it loses momentum
if the pedals are too fast then get bigger gear ratios, for example if u have a 44/19 now change to a 52/17 will be harder to skid but well worth it for the speed
I mean if your going for speed and down hill bombing a regular road bike would crush a fixie but this is more style and similar comparison to drifting vs grip racing
The most 'tiring' downhill bike ride ever
70km/h... this was more like 35-40 :D
on a fixed gear u wouldn't risk
Yup that's definitely
Maybe they accidentally converted 40kmph into KMPH🤣 maybe they though 40kmph is 40MPH🤣
the sound of tires makes me relaxed 😂💕
Don't care how many km/h he is going. Was cool to watch
Rip tires
Yes people, you can ride down from the top of a mountain with a fixie. But it's hardly advisable, unless you like buying new tyres after every trip.

Sure thing. You can't ride climbs and descents effectively on fixed gear. Doesn't mean you can't have fun on it tho :)
That's either a 140-inch gear or it's not 70 km/h.
Yeah he really trusts his tires to hold up 😂
1 descent from tge mountain = 1 tire :)
1 спуск с горы = 1 покрышка :)
Как же много русских)
ваще
I ain't Russian but good thing I have google translate
plz gear ratio?
chainring & cog

Legendary and masterpiece of a video…

Fake, no more at 30km/h
The whole video I was just playing the Tokyo drift song in my head lmao 🔥🤣
2:32 🚙😮
IS HE USE PEDAL STRAP OR NOT?VERY SKILL FULL
No clip ins
very epic
when its ur first time on fixie then u learned how to skid:
Brilliant..😎🇬🇧🚴♂️
где 70-то? Дороги пустые, можно валить, а он резину трет( ээээх, DafneFixed уже не тот(
Can you get a ticket for going over the speed limit on a bicycle?
Yes
bro doing jay jo drift
Shld be arnd 40-50kmh
at what point did you hit 70km/h lmao
Where is this?
Where is that? How is he not flatting?
Italy
Well, he probably started at the top with a brand new tire and replaced it at the bottom!
Poor tires
the rider’s good, but unless he’s out for skid practice there’s too much rubber wasted,;
skidding can be likened to swearing; when in excess it loses momentum
z kolend he has no brake what do you expect, you’ve never rode a fixed gear Fixie have you?
skidding is probs to slow down
I’m sure this isn’t an everyday deal, but it made an epic video that is for sure worth a tire.
I can’t, the pedals just spin too fast for me to keep up, any tips anyone ?
Train a lot more for stronger legs 🦵, and try to skid before it's too fast.. Use straps/clip for extra control and power
if the pedals are too fast then get bigger gear ratios, for example if u have a 44/19 now change to a 52/17 will be harder to skid but well worth it for the speed
I can’t even skid tho, I tried and tried but it’s so hard
@@alexreynosa5257 what type of handle bars u got?
bruh i can skid on my bmx cassete no brakes
too much pointless skidding. cornering also seams pretty slow.
Why u hatin
would also say no where near 70km/h maybe 50 at points.
Its not pointless Skid.. Its Skidding to reduce speed on upcomming because in FixedGear you cant lean to much because your pedal Will hit the Road..
I mean if your going for speed and down hill bombing a regular road bike would crush a fixie but this is more style and similar comparison to drifting vs grip racing
@@louisGauto agreed, it's good point. I think I just don't like this style.
add some music plz these skin videos would be so much more awesome.
At no point was 70kmh reached lol
Don't see the point in tire wasting cause you don't want to have a break 😑 that being said good ride!
After video 40€ new tire cash 😀
anyone knows what pedals is he using? ????
Pro scooter 80km/h
Top
😴
Unnecessary to skid that much it’s annoying 👎🏼👎🏼
I know you are expert, but thats not the way to teach newbies how to bikes 😔
That skidding is pretty easy
