- As a surprise for Pearl I organised a trip to Edinburgh Scotland for three nights staying on the Fingal , a ship moored in Leith now turned into a luxury hotel .
This time I thought it would be good to travel by train , so I booked a return ticket on the Caledonian sleeper service .
We had bunk beds for the journey to Edinburgh , this proved to be quite a challenge getting in and out as it wasn't the biggest room we had ever had .
You were provided with menu to select your breakfast options that were served in the Club car . AS we were going to Edinburgh we chose the full Scottish breakfast.
On arrival in Edinburgh Pearl still had no idea where we were staying.
We boarded one of the trams that took us to the port of Leith and to our hotel called the Fingal . A converted ship turned into a luxury Hotel .

Was the eye mask on the sleeper, so you couldn't see how small the room was, lol 😅. Good job you only had one suitcase in that room . And Pearl is a girl after my own heart ❤️ with the gold holdal love gold, bling , sparkle, and glitter ✨️ 💖. So funny, Brian, when you said it's posh on the boat, how are you going to act .! Normal 😅. Lovely room on the boat spacious. And I love Britannia. Went on there about 10 years ago and had soup lol in the tea room you were in, lol 😆 . Once again, beautiful dress Pearl on the boat for dinner take care both of you 😊❤x
Hi Amanda , yes I was expecting slightly bigger but it was ok . Something about being in bed on a train.I wanted Pearl on her best behaviour 😂 and she was a good girl 😂. Fingal was a brilliant experience, a great place to stay when visiting Edinburgh. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you Amanda, we are in Corfu , on Azura so I have a signal . Ah, the Caledonian Sleeper has been on my bucket list for years - I always think it looks absolutely fantastic. I'll hopefully do it next year!
Also, I stayed on Fingal last year - only for one night - I was SO SO SO impressed!
Hi Fraser , it certainly was an experience, we thought let’s do something different rather than flying to Edinburgh. There is something about travelling by train and being in bed . Fingal was amazing an absolute stunning hotel. Take care on your travels 👋

Yeah we had a great time thank you , train was a bit tight for space 😂 but Hotel and Edinburgh were brilliant. She had to look twice so it couldn’t have been that impressive 😂👋

Hi Gavin , thank you very much for watching. We had been to Edinburgh a few times, so I thought we have driven , flown , let’s try the train . There is something about being in bed as the train trundles along . But definitely overpriced, would we do it again, not at those prices. Then on our return there was no lounge at the station. So I complained and received £20 refund , big deal. But it was all worth it for the hotel , it was fantastic, expensive but for a one off well worth it. Thanks for watching Gavin 👋👋

Hi Dawn , Edinburgh really is lovely, we have visited quite a few times now , We always enjoy it . Fingal was great , not somewhere you could do often , but for a special occasion it was perfect. Plus you have that wonderful tram system that stops right near the hotel . We will definitely be back in beautiful Edinburgh. Thanks very much for watching and for commenting xx❤️

Hi Amika , yes I agree entirely Pearl is definitely the star , she’s very natural. I used a DJI pocket 2 camera . It’s very small and inconspicuous so ideal for when you’re trying to film in a crowded place . Hope this helps , thank you very much for watching this and previous vlogs .x

Hi Raymond, We really like Princess cruises we have done 5 now . Sky is a lovely ship … better food and service than P&O but then you are paying more . Atrium can get busy especially when they have artist or bands playing. It’s across between traditional cruising and modern. We are on Sun princess in 2025 , have a great time and thank you very much for watching and the kind comment.👋
