I own and operate the bigger younger brother to this machine. A 973C, i just did 5 days of land clearing and improvements. I feel a track loader is an extremely versatile machine and is underrated. Nice work keeping the old machine going!
@@HammaDownEnterprises you are definitely not wrong. It’s about 30 ton. Equivalent to a D7 but I feel could outwork a D7 in most aspects. Sure likes to drink fuel though. High idle all day long when the 7 could run decelerated pedal a lot.
Terry from Christchurch New Zealand, nice work my friend, good to see these old machines are still plodding along with a respectfully operator not beating her up. I've got a wee komatsu d31s 17 track loader with opening bucket and love changing round the motocross track. Slow and steady wins the race. Such handy machines. Good for the soul playing in the dirt i recon. Love ua work hope ua get as much satisfaction and fun as i do playing on your tonka lol.
Actually, the 1964 Caterpillar 955H has a plate mounted on the frame rails that says "TRAXCAVATOR." My dad had one of those and that's what he called it too.

I completely agree. Thanks. I hear the 973 is a beast. The only ones I’ve been close to have been in landfills.

Even Terry thanks. Yes, these are good machines when you take care of them and they do indeed get the job done!!
Old girl sounds good. Great little machine back in the day. Good to see them still working out there. I rarely see them anymore

Looks like you are good operator, hope you were able to finally burn up the refuse pill
you are amazing brother keep going
Ahhh,--- the good old days of the track loader. I spent years driving the 941 - 973 loaders in Alberta
Scot Fenn una carriola a motore ai mezzi di oggi
I have a 941B that i still use. It's in worse condition than yours though. Still works brilliantly
We want to see you burn the wood. Great video.nice loader
Brilliant Video mate, doing a job just like that myself, keep up the good work.
Excellent!
Thanks!
If your bucket is tilt forward 3to5inches and you hit stump does your bucket actually tilt forward like a relief valve open up
No, it has not done that. If I come up against something immovable, the tracks will spin.
Nice job
I have a cat 931 with the swamps tracks on it
Hillmon Brooks jr sounds like a nice machine!
Better put some work in those idlers, they bounce around like basket balls. lol
cletrac 12c it’s more than just the idlers, but I’m working on it!
That shit wont burn
what did you end up doing with all the brush you dug up
mrtowmonster pushed it into the wood line
Where was that filmed at
Quel del bufet quel picelfo , quel trapulinhu quel lervaso !!

Armature??
That's a tracked loader. There's no such machine. There is an excavator. I'm 68 and I have never heard of a tracavator.
Ronald Harris traxcavator. It’s an old term. Look it up
Traxcavator was a namebrand of the Trackson Company of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The word "Traxcavator" came from combining "tractor" and "excavator".
@@HammaDownEnterprises thanks for the info. Proof that you can learn something new almost every day

YOUNG MAN ,
NO WAY TO GET ALL THE DIRT OUT OF WOOD PILE / BEST THING TO DO , DIG HOLE
My task here was to push everything into a pile., not separate, clean, or bury.
