Love what Traeger is doing. The D2 is already great, and now the rest of this appliance is following the creative path that they’ve taken. Very interesting. Can’t wait to see where the industry is going over the next few years. I still have my old Traeger 20, I mean OLD OLD Traeger, just smoked a side of beef ribs on it today and it was great, never getting rid of that thing.. 🙌 Thanks for sharing
Oh ya that Traeger you got is a good one for sure!!! I am waiting for a pellet grill that will rotate and flip the protein during the cook! hahaha Thanks for watching!
@@DeadBrokeBBQ yes, I hear you! I come from Paraguay South America and rotating/rotisserie IS LIFE down there! 🙌Everything rotates there haha.. 💜 But that’s because they do direct heat, either charcoal or fire, using windshield wiper motors and 12 volt batteries with home built “parillas”. I’ve always wanted a pellet cooker with rotisserie, but after having tried one one time, I wasn’t too impressed. Mainly because even at high heat, I did not get the same results as direct heat. I also did not notice a better moisture retention compared to the usual either. I think with some modifications to the heat shield/drip shield, maybe something similar to what Weber has going on with their Flavorizers, then we could have a potential winner with rotisserie on a pellet cooker.. Come to think of it, a Weber with rotisserie would be a deadly combo (if it doesn’t catch on fire 😜) I hope brave companies keep innovating 🍻 Like the Woodwind Pro with the woodchunks, I love that idea, and can’t wait to see other’s iterations of that

I can’t make my mind up between this or the new Weber Sear+! Can’t wait to see you review that one. Must’ve watched all your videos on the Weber smoke fire stealth 😅 appreciate the contenr
Well thanks for watching!!!! Ok so the Sear is pretty much the Stealth with a couple more features. Like a side shelf and the cast iron grates for the right side of the pit. Other than that it seems pretty much the same but for only $100 more I would get the Sear over the Stealth just to have that side shelf. Like I said in my comparison on Smoked BBQ Source, if you grill and want to try to do more smoking, the Weber is the better choice. If you are looking at mainly smoking, the Ironwood is the way to go. Hope this helps you out!!!!

@@DeadBrokeBBQ thanks so much! That makes so much sense! 🙌🏾
If you are looking at mainly smoking meats then the Ironwood, if you want to grill, have a rotisserie, and a flat top, then the Searwood but you are giving up a tad of build quality but it is much more versatile.
I'm looking for my 1st pit. Was thinking pit boss 1600 elite, but now not so sure. Wish this one had an ash cleanout. Great job on the videos keep up the good work.
Camp Chef, Pit Boss, and Traeger all perform pretty much the same. They are all similar but with different features. You just have to decide what one you like the best and what one you think looks the best in your yard. Thanks for watching!
That's a beautiful cooker, Ricer!! I couldn't imagine how much smoke I could put in some cheeks with that beast!! Hahaha. Nice informative video as always, sir.
Could you remove the legs and install this grill into a kitchen island outdoors? I’m curious about the clearance space if it were sitting on a concrete top. Thanks for the great video!
My boss lol does not understand how a brisket or a pork butt can cook at 210 and be done. I know you have a family, have to feed em. Have you ever tried it?
@davecockrell5330 I have cooked 15 plus hour cooks many times. When I cater pork butt, I run at 200 and once it is wrap I turn it up to 225 till tender. Then I hold them sometimes at 160 for 8-10 hours. Always turns out great!
Thanks for the great videos, my bro. Have a question. During shut down process on these pellet grills, does it empty out auger of pellets or just burns out what is in the pot? Thanks, keep them videos coming, be blessed my bro...
Great overview! What are the dimensions of the upper rack? Or more to the point, could I fit a large packer brisket on the upper rack and a pan underneath it?
I’ve noticed pellet grills coming with no smoke stack. I’m from Kansas City so you learn how to do some smoking before you are potty trained. You need that smoke stack. Funnels the smoke to one direction.
There isn't a need for a draft in a pellet grill. The air is moved by a fan. Plus it has helped some brands get away from major hot spots. Thanks for watching!
Nice looking pit which I never thought I'd say about a Treager. Would come in handy for those who really like their cheeks crushed as well 🤣 Nice review Ricer!
Ya the Woodwind Pro is a very nice pellet grill for sure!! The only time I noticed a real difference in the flavor though was when I added charcoal to the smoke box. Thanks for watching!!
Great video! Is there anything that compares to this traeger that isn’t as expensive? I’d definitely want the XL size for cooking for the masses. I have a small vertical propane smoker so I want to be able to put 3-4 butts on it or at least a whole packer brisket (which I can’t do now) 😢
Nothing beats the LSg pellet, nothing yet at least. I don't even have to do a video on it to be honest but one of these days I match them up!?!?! Your money is better spent in the long run on the LSG. Thanks for watching!
Well the Pro has an advantage when you add charcoal to the smoke box. The Traeger smokes a little more when just using straight pellets IMO. I really didn't notice any difference when I added wood chunks to the firebox on the Pro. Thanks for watching George!!
My LSG is the best pellet grill I own. I use it all the time off camera. More smoke off the LSG but this pit does a great job. It won't last as long as the LSG either. Good luck on your decission!
Yep and that is what helps this pit smoke a little more than the average. 20° doesn't bother me one bit, my offset will swing 50 everytime I throw in a split. I bet your oven in your house is off 15° too, but people never measure that. Thanks for watching and have fun with your pit!!
@Dead Broke BBQ thanks for replying. You are completely right, ive had pit boss, camp chef, gmg, weber smokefire, and recteq, this traeger smokes waaaay more than all others which I love! Im sure it is because of these fluctuations that creates more smoke.
I've seen pellet grills put a smoke ring on food and you still can't taste the smoke. What was the smoke like on those ribs? Typical pellet grill or more noticeable?
More but it has nothing to do with the grills. Pellets are made from dry kiln scrap wood and sawdust. So they will never match the flavor on my offset but a couple of them come close. Most of them these days produce plenty of smoke but the flavor is going to be cleaner because most of the moisture has been removed. The only pellet grill that I own that comes VERY close to offset flavor is my Lone Star Grillz pellet grill. This Traeger and a Camp Chef pellet I got is next on the list. A lot of people though get confused with the flavor of charcoal smoke and wood smoke. Charcoal smoke is by far the most potent but also tastes dirty compared to a split of oak. Thanks for watching!
I like them both honestly. For the tech and BBQ I lean towards the Traeger but for being able to grill a little easier I lean towards the 1600. Thanks for watching!!!
I think so, doesn't cook any better but it feels more sturdy and I like the design better. Very tight pit and the bonus, the controller and app are better than the Elite's. Just missing the sear zone. Thanks for watching!

Well bro I do not have these pits anymore but I completely understand the offset issue. My boys are finally old enough that is not a concern for me anymore but I still only use my offset a couple times a month. As far as these 3 pits the top 2 are the 1600 and the Stealth. The Stealth is a little better if you want to use it as a grill too. When it comes to the smoking part they both do a good job but I think the PB does a tad better job on low and slow cooks. The phone apps are comparable but I like the 1600 a tad better. Hope this helps but remember box store pellet grills will not match your offset in smoke flavor but you don't have to tend to a fire.
