Tbf it was the same for the novel. The tortoise arc is one of the most tedious to read, Kizuna's introduction is a breath of fresh air being the positive force of the party when everybody blends together for being so serious, but unlike Filo who tends to be the positive one Kizuna has the mental capacity to stand with and against Naofumi. Kizuna is also not wasted, as she is mean to be a mirror of Naofumi, what he could have been, and he is jealous of Kizuna having so many people that love her.
I was looking forward on the scene where Kizuna heavily scolded Glass, Theresa and L'Arc while Naofumi is laughing at them. Man, the adaptation disappoints me.

During the waves they could fight, but the toughest battles were against the soul eater that everyone was too weak to defeat and nothing could be done, but nao have the shield of anger, the battle against the whale was a special wave without number for that reason it was very strong. When the arc of the turtle, the 3 heroes defeat alone waves as strong as the one of the soul eater thanks to the fact that they raised more levels.
Do any of you people not feel kind of creeped out that essentially Raphilia is technically not part of Naos world because of the swords pick on her? Not to mention i feel extremely uneasy seeing her outside her normal adventure clothes and in the normal clothes in glasses world. Might look normal. But the whole time to me im thinking its a subliminal message of the sword saying: "I own you know, you serve me not him" type of message.
vassal weapons dont confine you to the world youre in. the vassal weapons on their own are just extremely powerful tools created from spirits in which the weapons themselves chooses the wielder. despite naofumi being the legendary shield hero, he also becomes the vassal mirror wielder.
I feel is ridiculous the author ships Naofumi with Raphtalia, and Glass with Kizuna, when both couples have the parent and daughter dynamic. Kizuna and Naofumi have more chemistry and are on equal terms with each other.
Naofumi and Raphtalia haven't had a father-daughter dynamic for ages. Malty's betrayal has just caused Naofumi to have seriously skewed relationship views.

I have only read manga, and it's not far off in quality. The chapters covered in season one were phenomenal, from the Spirit Turtle on is much less. From what I understand in the light novel quality picks back up again after this arc, but that is second hand info. However, with some of the stuff cut from season two I am cautious about a third season. Like the other heroes training with the old martial arts lady and pink haired knight. Basically they are disinterested or get humiliated then run off and get captured at the Spirit Turtle.
Personally I don't hate these guys but I do think they're just as naive as the other heroes are not only that it wouldn't actually kill one of them to apologize to Naofumi what do any of you think so far?
its not that you cant let go of it, its part of the pact where you cant resist separating yourself from the weapon's presence. raphtalia couldnt let go of the weapon at first because she initially didnt want it. it wasnt right to her that the weapon chose her when she wasnt a part of that world and thus wanted to return it. she was able to let the blacksmith see it because by that point she had no intentions of leaving the weapon behind and stayed within its presence. if you somehow manage to overcome the weapon and get separated from it, it just teleports back to the wielder. thats why when trash 2 picked the katana up, it immediately teleported to raphtalia because she was already chosen and thus "separated" because she wouldve left it behind otherwise.

I believe he had a more grounded personality from the start (being a bookworm instead of a gamer), and that fed into him being cynical. So, if the betrayal didn't happen, he would've had good intentions, but not gone into Kizuna levels of Kizunaness.
@@Elroid He for sure wouldn't have been as peppy, but the first episode of Shield Hero definitely displayed him as being fairly "happy-go-lucky" given the situation he was in, especially before Bitch's betrayal. I wouldn't say it rewrote his personality per se either. It just gave him another outlook on the world he was now in and its denizens. We do see glimpses of his happier self at times in the present, though, thanks to his allies.

I know, I read the manga online of this, but it was better than this. I can't believe this will end in two more episodes. I was hoping it gone to 25 or 26 , which is an even bigger disappointment.

It's been doing great with the story adaptation from the manga and I enjoy watching the dub as well, and 2. The manga is far ahead at 62 chapters I believe. Taking it slow is a good strategy as to not get caught up the source material. If they are faithful to it and won't deviate to far.
I prefer a 12 episode season format. 24-25 episode format just gets filled with filler and slow story progression. It's one of the reasons I'm put off spy x family, because it's just slow progression and almost at the half way mark.

Kinda fell off from watching this anime because it seemed like everyone was a vassal weapon wielder. Not a big fan of that. I know they are far from being even remotely similar but I was kinda getting MCU vibes from it all. Haven't even touched the 3rd season because of this reason.
It's kinda hinted at season 1 by Fitoria, "why does the 4 cardinal heroes didnt help other nations as well?". Fitoria is a vassal hero. Her "weapon" is a carriage that was used to teleport Naofumi and his party to her "nest". She defends other nations while the 4 cardinals defend Melromarc only. In Kizuna's world, the equivalent of her would be Ethnobalt, which is a Ship Vassal Hero. 4 cardinal heroes can be obtained by summoning, and the vassal heroes were chosen by the weapons, regardless whether they are summoned, stranded from other universe or actually born in that world.

Now that I think about it, actually Kizuna is very much a more "classic" hero trope (at least on shonen standards) than Naofumi.
