    Nicole is now singing and acting the roof off in the West End in the very demanding role of Norma Desmond in Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard!

    Marc, hats off to you for admitting you were wrong about Nicole's vocal ability and opening your mind. I have friends irl who still pretend she cannot sing because they have their preconceived ideas about her because of her "sexy" image. Sometimes I think it's sad that she still has prove herself at 45 years old, but her talent and tenacity really are inspiring. I guess that might be why I like her so much. I'm not a singer or artist, but I always feel like I have prove myself and no one believes in me. She's talked about experiencing that and proving herself since childhood, in college theater productions, auditioning for PCD as an adult and clearly to this day...

    Nicole is an exquisite WARRIOR of a performer!!! Time and time again she continues to prove herself as a world class talent. Not only did she deliver one of the best vocal performances of all time, she absolutely SOARED through this historic gig in her already monumental career. She will top herself every next time and her talent is just endless it seems.
    But her fans know this, as in awe as we all are, her true killer lovers know to expect only the best and nothing less from Nicole. She has delivered and she will deliver. She deserves that royal stage and all the overdue but inevitable praise she's currently receiving. THIS is why she is here on this earth. SING NIC!!! 🩵🩶
    PS: Anyone else excited for Nicole's big return to the West End in Sunset Boulevard this fall? I'm so thrilled that she will get this legendary moment to shine in a leading role of this capacity. Nicole's Norma Desmond will be refreshing & ICONIC! 🙌🏼

    I love this review! I love that you let us hear it all the way through and then went through again and gave your thoughts. I love that you were open-hearted and open-minded enough to consider that maybe you had prejudged her. I think she's so beautiful and was in a sexy girl group, so it's hard to conceive that she could also be this incredibly talented. I love that you listened to your viewers (so it feels like a dialogue and not a monologue), and reconsidered your original thoughts. She is so gifted and I also am just finding that out myself... it wasn't until I heard her sing the song from the Phantom of the Opera that I really understood. I appreciate your thoughtful review, Marc!

    Hi Marc you got to watch Nicole display all her multi hyphenate talents in Broadway this year reprising her role as Norma Desmond in the edgy and reimagined Sunset Boulevard. I watched the show twice in London last year and OMG her performance was jaw dropping and electrifying , vocals was majestic and mesmerizing and acting was awesome and she showed off some terpsichorean skills that she won many awards including the prestigious and coveted Olivier Award for best Musical Actress. She finally came hoooome to the stage where she rightfully belongs . Folks go watch Jamie Lloyd’s Sunset Boulevard in Broadway soon you will be blown away by the stunning performance of Nicole et Al and the production itself and music background are mind blowing . This production was a smash commercial and critical hit in London it won 7 Olivier Awards including Nicole and Tom Francis , her leading man . Good news is Nicole will be bringing along the other 3 main characters to Broadway . There was a note in one of Nicole’s sings where she held it for 15 seconds and at times 21 seconds which was insane I will be there again in Broadway to watch Nicole et Al take Broadway by storm ❤️❤️❤️

    I like that this isn't Lea Salonga's version. Don't get me wrong, she's the original and she SLAYS it every time. But Nicole's is different. Her runs, her placement, even the shape of the vowels are all different, and it tells an entirely different story.

    • @ayanp353
      @ayanp353 Год назад +2

      This is a different style. Nicole is a pop/R&B singer with a musical theater and rock music background so that's why there are runs and ad libs.

      I gather this is based on Christina Aguilera's 2020 version of the song. (It's in the same key Christina sang it in more recently.) I'm too huge a fan of the version of the song within the animated film (sung by Lea Salonga) rather than the pop versions (done by Christina Aguilera in 1998 and then again in 2020). I don't know the original pop version well and haven't listened to the new pop version, but I know people have been impressed with Christina's performance of a song 22 years later.

    I like that she didn’t open up the vowel at the end. Opening it up wouldn’t have made sense because she wanted to keep it a small and delicate sound. It was just right to keep the “I” vowel as it was.

    "Andrew Lloyd Webber has said "I really believe she’s the most fantastically talented girl and I went out on a limb to get her for the London Palladium here"...In a furious interview on Friday, the impresario said the singer had lost herself a possible Tony award.... Nicole Scherzinger pulled out of his Broadway musical to return to the UK as an X Factor judge."
    Well, Nicole knows what she wants, it seems! Thanks for this reaction.

    • @ayanp353
      @ayanp353 Год назад +5

      That's not even the full story. She took the X Factor giv while in the running for Cats on Broadway because the producers of the American production (ALW wasnt one of them) never gave her final confirmation amd a contract...because they didn't actually want her. So she took another job where she was actually wanted instead of waiting for inevitable rejection. ALW didn't realize this because the media made it seem as if she turned down Cats. They made up less than a week later.

    • @ayanp353
      @ayanp353 Год назад +5

      I have to disagree. Nicole is a much better than Lea Salonga vocally. Lea sings the song musical-style where she essentially speaks the words melodically. If you prefer that, that's a matter of taste, but Lea's vocal range is limited compared to Nicole who can do more with her voice.. As for those "bunch of warble ooOOOooOO additions," those are called runs and ad libs, which are common in black-influenced American music; again, a matter of taste, but capable powerhouse vocalists are able to do that, not just sing-talk words.
