The fact that so many parents are allowed to put their kids in the worst of situations, but still feel entitled to respect, is precisely why so much molestation and abuse go unaccounted for. If my parents had let me get molested, abused, or had neglected me emotionally or physically, they'd deserve no respect. I've never understood why respect is two-way street in all relationship EXCEPT the relationship between children and the people who are supposed to LOVE children the most--their parents.

With respect to Kirk Franklin, I understand. Sometimes God allows us to be exposed so that we can get help from the body of Christ. Sometimes we suffer through things privately but it's not effective - we need to tarry with our brothers and sisters when they need us.
