From bagdogra you should have went to panitanki kakarvitta border it’s nearly 20minutes ride to reach Nepal border from there and from there to ilam then sandhakpur
Ilam is also a famous tourist destination
I did cross panitanki then i went direct to mirik then from pashupatinagar i entered nepal i did visit ilam next year will take the route which u have mentioned and will explore the rest part ilam suryodaya @damarrai8439
