I accidentally came across your channel while studying Revit on my own and I’m simply shocked by the amount of information here and so well presented. Everything is very well explained, take, competent speech, I watch the videos every day. Don't stop please ,You are the best Revit teacher!!!

Hi Rob. Would like to ask if what do you prefer to use in your projects. Is it hosted family or non hosted family? For my side I prefer non hosted. but would like to check on your preference. Thank you and thanks for always sharing your knowledge to us. Have a good day.

Hey there - good question. I still use a lot of hosted receptacles, but will probably end up going more non-hosted, so I can have more control over where my devices are (not just being dragged around by the walls). And I've used a lot of non-hosted lighting fixtures, since early architectural models don't always have the ceilings we need for hosted. And, we still get the occasional architectural background in CAD, so we use find non-hosted works well there. I will also be posting a video covering non-hosted panelboard and switchboard families. Appreciate the feedback and support!

hello rob i love watching your amazing videos. but i have a question. while loading the generic annotation in the ER fixture family i accidently hit the escape button. now i loaded the second time but it does not show up in the ER fixture family. i tried loading it both ways, by load in the project button and by going into insert tab and pressing load button and selecting the generic annotation file. i don't know if its kind of a bug but i could figure out the solution to this problem.

Sorry about your issue. You should be able to open the family project and drag families to your project ?
