As a native tucsonain I very much enjoyed this video. Been to some of these dams and really didn't think I be cool... I was wrong 😂 great vid bro and have a awesome day!!!
Thank you so much 🙏 I'm not native to AZ, I'm originally from MN and it amazes me at how much Arizona has to offer, in terms of places to see.......glad you enjoyed the video, and you have an awesome day as well 👍
New subscriber, new to AZ, and I'm enjoying your videos Jessie! Your drone shots and commentary are beautiful, informative, and fun to watch. Thank you, sir!
That view of lake powell with lone rock made me cry a bit. You see that white portion on the rock? Up til the early millennium that was the water level. Hurts to see the lake so low.
Could you do a video on the rivers that are for public recreation… I do know about the salt river with the wild horses, but that’s in my area. We are new here and not sure what places are good to visit. 😊 really liked this video
Roosevelt dam was raised to provide flood control more than to increase the reservoir capacity, although that too was done. The dam is capable of reaching 120% of design capacity (the reservation for flood control) before water must be released through the spillways. The old "Waddel" dam is a little upstream of the new dam and still below the lake. The dam was built as part of the Central Arizona Project. The old dam was a flood control dam. The new one is providing storage and a path for the CAP canal. Never knew about the overlook downstream from Glen Canyon dam. Neat! I have never been to Watson dam (and right next to it is the Willow Creek Reservoir) or Gillespie dam (it has an interesting back story too), but now think a trip is in order...
Id personally love a wave of water to crash into Phoenix so Tucson can get more water front property. But as a desert kayaker, i have been to a number of these dams and more in Arizona, but there are a few on this list i still need to get to. And i actually have been to Hoover and Glen Canyon dams on the same day because i took my friend on an Arizona road trip and we went from camping at Black Canyon to Page Arizona to visit the Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe bend.
I used to go fishing at GIllespie Dam a lot, could catch some really big catfish there. One time while fishing there, I talked to an old guy who was completely sure that someone actually blew the dam up for some reason. No idea why, but he was positive haha.
I've been to the Hoover Dam a few times but how do you get to that bridge? When I was there last time I was wondering how the heck to get up to it but i wasn't driving so we didn't go up there...but I also didn't see a way.
Parker Dam created Lake Havasu is actually taller than Hoover Dam. It just doesn't look like it because most of it is buried in order to reach bedrock.
Love the Coolidge dam. Always LOVE the art deco stylization!
Right! So unique!
Great work Jessie. Thanks for sharing.

Parker dam, goes from AZ to CA. Watson is a good place for our rc crawling as well. 😅
If you have any dam questions had me weak.. I like this one ☝🏾
Haha, I couldn't resist....takes me back to that national lampoon's movie....the Las Vegas one!

I go out to Gillespie Dam every few months or so, great place to fly a drone....always see people fishing out there
I went to the Hoover dam
Im going to be honest, Im a native Phoenician and I didnt even know we had most of these dams.
Comes as a surprise to most people

just after you make it through security there is a right turn and a parking lot. Drive up there and its a couple minute walk to the bridge
@@jessiesdroneadventures7464 ohhh ok, thanks!

Yes!!!
This is click bait! It's actually about dams. Damn.
Dam!
You missed about half of the dams in AZ
Which ones
So nobody knew that HOOVER DAM existed until you told us?
nope
Any dam questions 😂. I see what you did there
Haha......I couldn't resist!
Nevada: 👁👄👁
Aliens 👽
Why visit a dam????? Lol
Why visit a Burger King? Why do anything? Maybe some people appreciate engineering instead of watching Tick Tocks?
@davemccage7918 no, convince yourself you like to watch brainrot or you'll be presumed high and mighty
