The reason you're getting those sounds when trying to start the car is because you forgot to properly align the crankshaft when you were building the engine, also hence the banging when it was running, you have to take the engine back out again and basically almost fully disassemble it to align the mark on the gear with the mark on the engine block. In short, P A I N

It ain't that bad just take off the water pump and camshaft cover then the chain and rotate it. Also don't need to take the engine out of the car. Waste of time, don't make it harder on yourself.
