I've just seen a clip with Carrie Underwood covering 'Welcome to the Jungle' and someone mentioned in the comments how awesome she was when she covered 'Paradise City'. That's why I searched for a version and found this video. And really, she's so damn good. She blends in perfectly and has such a powerful voice. Just awesome.
I never would have thought I'd appreciate another vocalist singing alongside Axl, she really complimented the two songs she sang and supported Axl when he was going through a rough patch.
I understand purists, but sometimes you need to move with the times and enjoy the music.
I have to say being a guns fan since the 80s and thinking Carrie singing with guns? Is that even possible? Well, Carrie is a great country singer but she can really fiing rock with the best of them. She was amazing to watch. Great job Carrie. Guns are just a kick ass band no matter what the haters say.
The first I heard of Carrie Underwood was during her appearance at the end of Cobra Kai, where my reaction was WTF! But seeing her performance at this GNR gig has changed my mind. Amazing collaboration

Heard Axl was having a bad day on July, 2. Feel sad for the man, he's really giving his best, vert nice to see such a fan as Carrie give him a support.

Awesome for Carrie to step in and help. For those who don’t know axl had a bad panic attack after the show Friday night and clearly was still having issues going into this show. I hope he’s doing better

Carrie explained that, Axl called about an hour before this performance. She knew about his attack. She has the same problem except it comes across as nervous energy for Carrie.

Great video of both those epic songs. Underwood did this with them the previous day but was way respectful, more subdued. They obviously told her to go crazy on this night, and she took their advise.

Regardless of your opinions, but Carries legs and voice are on par with each other and Axl & Slash are motivated.
I think Axl sounds great here. Letting Carrie handle the higher stuff and him singing at a lower tone. He still has a lot of power there.

I’ve seen GNR recently and Axl sounded top notch. The band put on a amazing show. Was the best show I’ve ever seen. Keeping in mind how long this band plays each night when they do tour it’s pretty fucking amazing. Slash was a fucking animal. It seemed like he never even took a break between songs. If you want to see a Dinosaurs on tour go to a more recent Metallica show. Keep in mind GNR and Metallica are my favorite bands of all time, so I’m not a hater. Tool is another amazing live performance! Yeah all these bands were better in the 90s. But there isn’t a damn person on the planet that can fill in for Axl when he is on his game.

Only reason this happen was Carrie was in London promoting her new album. And Axl used it to invite Carrie to do this duet as a return favor for him appearing at Stagecoach festival, which is country.

I think Axl was surprise by how good Carrie is. You can tell that at Stagecoach, when he finally say yes to her request to join her on stage. Axl got up front of how good Carrie is. And how Carrie kept up Axl and how smoothly it went.
I think G&R were surprised by how good Carrie actually is. And how easily Carrie blended with them. This performance was actually Carrie performing with G&R, which is why she didn't want to pass on it. Carrie said she juggle her schedule as she was promoting her "Denim & Rhinestones album. Her label UMG helped her. And the station where she was going to promote her album, said no problem. They didn't want to be in the way, too much backlash.
Carrie explained that Axl got a hold of Carrie's manager Ann. Carrie said yes, Ann could finish. It was a hectic couple of hours to rearrange Carrie's schedule, but everyone of Carrie's team made sure this happen. Well, worth the extra day.
I was looking for to see carrie in the munich concert today, but she is back in the states and did not appear. I hope to see them again togheter sometime soon..
That's a shame, I thought she would follow the band throughout the tour
She still has a relevant career tho. Her new album released last month and tour across the states next fall. So, she has many things to do other than being side kick of her most favorite band.

I like what happen, critics of Carrie calmed down a lot since this happen. Cause audiences wasn't except Axl to give Carrie a ringing endorsement like he did. Carrie was definitely not excepting Axl to do that.

Rose has a fairly low speaking voice, so he has to push his voice into the rock register. That tends to age badly, as Bon Jovi (among others) demonstrates.
Ele fez o melhor que pode usando a voz natural e jogando as notas pra baixo o que poupou mais sua voz já que seu alcance vocal e extensão vocal são grandes ele consegue bons graves, mas espero que ele cuide da voz e melhore porém ele pode cantar algumas musicas em tons mais baixo pra ajudar a prolongar as cordas vocais!!!

If Slash didn't want Carrie on that stage. Carrie won't have done it. Carrie has too much respect for Slash. And if Slash was trying to avoid Carrie, then he must have been trying to avoid Axl as well. Slash must have heard those comments, because at all of the Canada stops, Slash and Carrie were right next to each other.

So here's a fun little note: GnR loves pyro. Carrie Underwood is very vocal about hating it, actually being kind of afraid of it. Can't help but notice that all the pyro was missing from Paradise City. Not sure if they just weren't dropping bombs at that show to begin with, or if they held back out of respect for Carrie. If the latter, then that's pretty damn cool of them considering what a--holes they were throughout the '80s, '90s, '00s and even '10s.
They did use pyro throughout the whole Not in this Lifetime tour (April 2016 to December 2018 although some say it ended in 2019) but from 2019 onwards they haven’t been using any.
For me it’s kinda sad since I think it added a lot to the show.

I think Carrie Underwood does a good job with the songs and probably saved the dates. She doesn’t have the interpretation and artistry of Axel. But from all the female singers covering G&R she’s the best. Really Axel shouldn’t be singing and instead healing his voice.

Here is his issue: being a counter tenor, you really have to consistently do all the vocal exercises, sing daily, but most importantly take physical care of your body, in his prime, "rocket queen", nobody could sing that, not Bret Michaels, not Vince Neil, not Don Dokken, maybe Jani Lane....my point is fans recall his classic counter tenor voice, I have to believe all the dope, meth, weed, pills, and booze, plus the cancer sticks did him in.

To be honest, Axl was struggling with his voice towards the end of the evening. Carrie's mic was dialed up a little louder than Axls and filled in the higher notes.
I would have preferred Axl singing on his own, but Carrie adds her own energy and doesn't take away from the songs essence.

I went Friday evening and carrie only took part in 2 songs. She looked great Friday night but looked even better Saturday night by the looks of it.
Axels voice is shot but still enjoyed it. Sounds like Saturday night he was struggling more.
