Thank you so much for posting this wonderful documentary on one of the biggest girl groups of all time, sadly almost forgotten by the younger generation.
I'm 60 and in growing up i heard the sisters on t.v. musicals which to this day still gives me that feeling of when i heard them the first time. That energy that fun filled life of Joy of the way thing's were way back when. Beautiful documentry. And thank u
My parents were this generation so I came to know the Big Band music before any other. It's so nice to learn the story of the women who's voices are familiar to me. Thank you for posting!
Born to "40's-era" parents, my childhood was saturated with big band music from my folks huge collection of 78's. I didn't know other kinds of music existed until I was 5 or 6 (hello, Beatles!). I learned to sing...and sing pretty well...by listening endlessly to the amazing vocalists of the period...Bing Crosby, Jo Stafford...but VERY early on, the Andrews Sisters' laser-perfect harmony spoke to my soul like nothing else ever had. I'm thrilled to finally hear their story. Thanks So Much!
Thank you very much for your documentary! Although I am Russian and understand little in English, it was very interesting for me to watch, I learned a lot of new things. Nowadays few people know about Andrews Sisters, especially in Russia, but I am glad that some people love this group as well as I do, I would very much like to meet Andrews Sisters fans. In any case, Andrews Sisters will remain forever in my heart!
This doc reminded me of when I was a young buck. The of the soda shop was ending. The old boys use to gather after dinner, all ww2 vets. They loved Auther Godfry and telling tales of the old days. They loved the Andrews sisters. Loved them. I liked their beat, but to a young dude in the 60's, Bob Dylan held more allure. Still it was nice to hang out with them. Very few were as loved as these ladies were.
I 👀 some of the videos yesterday enjoyed that jaunt down memory lane. It made me think of my mom ,late mom and her older sisters who are also passed away. At the time when they 3 were growing up My aunt older sister took care of everyone especially my mom who was the baby sister, but as older people they didn't get along as well , but they came together for our family when my mom needed all of us to be there to help my mom go to heaven peacefully. And she did .So this documentary made me think of them all together ❤️. ❤️
I heard the the Andrew Sisters were so popular that the big band orchestras refuse to be on the same bill. Now appearing The Andrew Sisters with the (Name any orchestra) They were always have top billings.
The color movie clips taken on the sets of some of their early 1940s Universal movies are really eye-catching because the actual finished films were in black & white, so you never saw any of the actual colors of the costumes or sets.
What tv show was the sisters singing on at 1:05 in...afew years ago I found these dresses in Burbank Calif. Had patty and Maxine's name written inside...didnt find la Vernes dress
But, isn't it commendable that Christina kept the spirit of The Andrews Sisters alive, for a newer generation, just as Bette Midler did, in the previous generation? I think so and I'm a huge fan of The Andrews Sisters.
Sad they never made up. They did still angry with each other. Being in a band first then their family. Personally i think they got screwed. I would rather have my family.
Never mentioned was Patty's inability to accept Maxene's lesbianism. Her 'secretary' was in fact her lover before being adopted. Maxene's other adopted children were estranged and "Lindy' got most of her 'mother's ' estate but for some insurance that went to the other two.
Reuben Hart they also never mention as Patty’s foster daughter confirmed to me that Laverne essentially drank herself to death. Keep it light seems to be the protocol.
@@mr_gamble_good search up "The Current Rewind: The Andrews Sisters & Lynda Wells." its a podcast episode with lynda wells and some other "andrews sisters historians" and they talks more about maxene being a lesbian!
I made my children listen to these gals in the eighties and now I get to make my grand daughter listen to these gals these days.

Absolutely! They were amazing!
I just got through listening to the Andrew Sisters documentary, parts 1-4, and enjoyed every bit of it. 👍😀
LIES...ALL LIES!!!
Auch wenn ich fast kein Wort versteh , aber ich find es super , dass jemand die Lebensstory der Andrew-Sisters veröffentlicht .
Great documentary about a legendary American group- thanks for sharing!

R.I.P Andrews Sisters
Wonderful documentary ❤
Thank you thank you thank youuuuu so much for those videos ❤❤❤
The Andrews sisters and boogie woogie bugle what more do you have to say!!
Those were the days.
I'm here from fallout 4. Don't really know how I got into watching documentary. My curiosity has gotten the better of me

I have 5 older sisters. I can’t imagine fighting with any of them.

The Dean Martin Show or Joey Bishops.
Life is short. Make amends with your family members. These two women went to their deaths without granting eachother forgiveness. Sad.
You cannot always make amends. Sometimes you just have to let it go.
Very popular with the Andrew Sisters! Margo Bellamy
As a child still everyone has forgotten these amazing sisters but not me the younger generation dosent even know these sisters were alive
So sad .
Laverne died way too young bless her.
She was the only sister who was an anti-semitic Greek Daddy's little girl.
Very nice
very sad.
i think patty and maxene's relationship went down because of patty's husband
it did. i heard wally was not a very good man to maxene nor laverne.
Why is she sitting in an empty house?
I just searched the song & found out it’s about venereal disease lol
Here to see Mary Wilson!
My Dad knew them personally!
Why is Mary Wilson sitting in a vacant house.
I was thinking that too 😂
I'm sorry, but I HATE Candy Man. It sounds too modern, makes me feel disgust. I'll always love the Andrew sisters though! They're my favorite~
But, isn't it commendable that Christina kept the spirit of The Andrews Sisters alive, for a newer generation, just as Bette Midler did, in the previous generation? I think so and I'm a huge fan of The Andrews Sisters.
It was supposed to be modern with a nod to the era.
I like the SUPREMES a great deal but, really, the AS, in their day, were better.
Sad they never made up. They did still angry with each other. Being in a band first then their family. Personally i think they got screwed. I would rather have my family.
Agulara is a snoozefest and besmirchment to the Andrews Sisters legacy.
ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz

I am just learning that Maxene was a lesbian! So Linda Wells from the AS facebook group was her girlfriend? She seems young enough to be her daughter.
