  • Aaron Sorkin is the man behind movies like Steve Jobs, The Social Network, and Moneyball - ambitious films exploring larger-than-life characters on the cusp of greatness. So you might be surprised to learn that the Oscar-winning screenwriter used to shy away from his own ambition. He opens up to Shad about writing what he feels is an honest portrayal of the Apple boss - and answers criticisms from those who think that portrayal is unfair.

q is a magazine show that’s unpredictable in the best sense - proud to be “a wild mix of culture by way of Canada” as described by the New York Times. The Globe & Mail noted the show’s “raging popularity across a variety of platforms -- podcasts, television, websites, satellite radio, terrestrial radio, and occasional live remote broadcasts."

Every sentence uttered in a Sorkin film feels like the character had a day to form eloquence before stating. And that's awesome. I want to live in the Sorkin universe.

People criticize this. But it’s a movie! Folks misunderstand this.

@Etta James Other than watching your husband get shot in the head Mrs. Lincoln, what did you think of the play?

@Etta James Well neither am I, but it's a reference to the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. The 16th President of the United States.

I have been an infrequent listener / viewer of Studio Q (q) over the years, but have always enjoyed the program.
This is the first time I've seen this host Shad. He is really remarkable. Sorry to learn he is no longer with the show.
Wish him the best, and look forward to whatever he undertakes next.

Love Sorkin interviews, but Shad did such a great job with this one. He also did an incredible job with “Hip-Hop Evolution” on Netflix.

The "13 year" criticism could have been better avoided if they had included the scene in the second act where Steve was with Lisa when John Sculley assembled a meeting. This scene could be found in a version of the movie's script online
