I know he hated her, but to hit her to deafness and then harming her hands which is important for her dreams and then just walk away, only a heartless beast could do something like that. Even if his father really did divorce because of her mother, she's still innocent and didn't do anything wrong.
Liked the story, but found the piano performance with razor blades on the 88 keys a bit gruesome. Jack allowed himself to be manipulated by Lisa. The acts of revenge he took based on her lies and his misunderstanding of the relationship between the FL's mother and his father revealed an inner ugliness that could not be ignored. Dr. Eden was such a refreshing contrast.
Her body might be weaker after they operated and spicy food could strain the body. I'm not knowledgeable about this but Chinese stories always use spicy food as a reason to go into the hospital by being strong enough to damage the stomach, so maybe it takes more for the body to digest spicy food.

Because all these stories is from China which is famous for it's selfish people. Would a selfish person forgive someone that harmed them? Most Chinese people wouldn't help a stranger even if they were dying and many would even film the death. A theme that Chinese stories likes to add like in this story is powerlessness and in many stories because of money with money having replaced God because religions being banned in China. These stories often reflect how real people in China treat each other like those stories where the mothers son mistreats the mother because many boys in China is treated as emperors so they treat their mother like dirt while girls is treated like commodities to then be sold off to the highest bidder. Stories often reflect the society it's written in, so if stories contain a lot of unforgiveness, then society might be like that.
