We've lived along the Delaware Canal for over 25 years, and I will attest that saying it's been fully watered over it's entire length is a falsehood. Several miles of the canal from the Upper Black Eddy area all the way down river toward the Centerbridge area, and where the bridge crossing over the Delaware River from PA. to Stockton NJ has been without water in it for nearly the past 2 decades. This is due in part to floods on the river having caused damage to the walls of the canal a few times, plus ongoing issues with water leaks from the canal going into the basements of homes along it, etc.
Several miles of the canal have trees and plants growing it, and the few times that the state has come along, cleared and cleaned it up, then relined the canal with clay, the water they put in it lasts for a few days to a couple of weeks before it ends up either empty or so low that it's nothing more than a mosquito breeding ground.
Another major issue is that the number of Ash trees which are dying and dead all around the Bucks Country area alone are a hazard all along the canal towpath, for anyone walking or biking along the length of it too. There are also at least 3 areas where the canal towpath has large chunks out it, both north and south of Point Pleasant, PA. so anyone using it needs to be aware of these dangerous spots, especially if they have children, older people or dogs with them.

I'm sure I'm just missing it, but a directions link would be helpful on the website because there is no other map on the website showing where it is located in Pennsylvania.
