I have to admit that being one who doesn't watch Anime that much, this is absolutely incredible. I've always loved the railroad, and the Big Boy is one of my favorites. It doesn't top the Daylight in my eyes though, but this was still really cool to watch.
I can Easily tell what the Main Train, Big One (G8001) is. It's Based off Union Pacific Railroad's 4000 Class 4-8-8-4 Big Boys. The Largest Steam Locomotives ever Built. (Also They are Really Strong and Heavy) Iron Berger is a PRR 6-4-4-6 S1 Duplex, But with Extra Driving Wheels.
I always liked the craziness of this show -- flying trains, in space. Even a steam engine, with exhaust and signal horns and wheels and everything. And a warp drive. Now all we need is a boat with a steering wheel in space... oh, wait...
Both that fly wheel at 0:31 and that captain at the end there BOTH looked like things from Space battleship Yamato the flywheel looking like, well, the Yamato's flywheel and that captain looked like Lieutenant Kodai
Even if The Galaxy Railways is not the most watched anime. Its still a pretty good anime. I even watched this anime when i was young and it never upsets me to this day Edit: Music videos that are about the galaxy railways (like this one) are also really nice
@jeremyhuhn8521 A friend of mine said Steamtown is a concentration camp for steam locos which is true because the government doesn't really give a crap into keeping the place running properly. Even Ross Rowland himself criticized the museum
