This was a very thoughtful and insightful conversation. I am very thankful that this was made. I want there to be more conversations like this in the black community.

We don't lol, as a black woman I didn't know what feminist were until high school. My mother, grandmother, and aunts did not teach me the feminist way. I was taught gender roles, those roles have overlap due to economy. I still plan to cook, nurture, and keep a clean house for my family.

Did folks actually watch the video? Who's talking about fighting each other? This struggle for equity is not either/or. It's _and_.

They really put black power and civil rights in the same category, someone really needs a history lesson. It sounds like black feminism is similar to the civil rights and neither one of these groups haven't gotten black people anywhere. I remember one black women saying black nationalism was one thing they had to fight against and they wonder why feminism is associated with white women even if you add black
in-front of it. Strong black women didn't come from feminism, they came from black power. For black feminism to be taken seriously would mean that your fight is against the black man, which everyone knows that were not the ones in power, it's the white man. The white women formed her movement so she could get equal opportunities from her race of men, you'll tell me she benefits from white privilege and this is true. Some would say that black women have more privileges than black men, the reason why they say black feminism came from the white women's movement has to do with her playing some part in it for her own benefit. If it wasn't for black nationalism their wouldn't be no Martin Luther King because Malcolm X was the one that influenced him to be a threat to the U.S. government. He was for equality but later down the line he realized that you must be self reliant upon yourself before you integrate with anyone. Black feminism can never lose it's stigma,

The problem is most don't understand what feminism is in the first place !
    I Do!
U don't have to hate men or be very masculine .
Please deal with sexuality or is that a little to touchy .
Black Men seem to view it in a derogatory sense in the twenty first century and some of the women i have come across .I have also felt a sense of segregation involving the title feminist and the century old stereotype that it concerns white women only.

@blackfolkdont you should do a video on black women who don't look "black enough" or are not accepted in the black community due to hair texture, complexion, or facial features.

If y’all broads don’t speak for yourself, their problem is not ours period. But some like to go along to get along. But we are waking up to the bullshit the Becky’s had to cancel a march last week because of “lack of diversity”.

Every argument for feminism is about:
    1) wanting the same rights as men but not the same responsibilities
    2) equal rights but only when its in their self-interest
    3) fighting for rights that they already have been granted
    4) ignoring the rights women have that men don't
    5) fighting for equal outcome instead of equal opportunity

I like that there is a large selection of answers from different people, but just because black women are stronger (which they are) doesn’t mean a patriarchal view of society doesn’t pertain to them. African Americans are definitely socially conservative Christians on a larger scale than most people would admit.

1 Question, regarding the woman that said that black men put themselves first in the struggle, now its just a question. How many black women are being innocently killed on the streets of the us versus men?

If you define Feminism as "Do Black women stand up for themselves and try to be smart, tough, well off and stand up for the people, and get respected for it, "then I would say Black People ALL Do Feminism. That's what my mother, grandmother, great grand mother. aunts, cousins, sister, daddy, brother, nephews and nieces all understand as the role of women in our culture. Can't speak to what other groups do.

They don't want 'equality', silly. That's just their little code word for wanting special privileges. You'll never hear them advocate for any negative aspects of true equality.

Even when I assert myself on here regarding my videos I am referred to as a man . i believe it's because so many women are either talking or doing other things on social media. And for me it's aggravating !

  • @CrimsonCorona10
    @CrimsonCorona10 10 лет назад

pointless. Not the video bu the opposition, the problem is has and always been the establishment. The poor and working class whites were always fighting Each other (Much of Europe before and up to the Renaissance, Ireland, etc) and being taken advantage of. When you throw in slavery at large and specifically African Slavery in the Americas, the working class now had something to direct their anger towards. And when in history have women been treated like they should throughout Western Culture?
good points, good points. And Black guys would wonder why they feel deeply when someone even entertains disrespect for their mothers. solution? for those who make the world and maintain it to manage it, not those who point fingers and sit on high thrones (color race and culture aside)
