And he was crap in it. It's one of the hardest parts of his autobiography, being surrounded by real actors and directors and crew and Jim (Vic), all trying to be kind, all knowing as well as he did that it was him, the fish out of water, that was making it fail. In one scene he had to tell Emilia Fox he loved her and he just couldn't do it without people laughing. It's a great book of course and all of his true WILTY stories are there, seventeen sugars and all, and plenty more besides. A really sweet, shy, low ego, funny bloke.
@@AlmostYearly He felt he was crap in it. He wasn't really. I enjoyed it. It was slightly rum - at the time neither Jim or Bob had done a lot of acting and you could sometimes tell. But it was good fun, and a who's who of the great and the good at the time. Indeed at the time I thought Bob was more natural than Jim, but Jim's done a lot more acting since. The thing with the Emilia Fox line is that Bob is just very funny whatever he says, and so he couldn't deliver straight lines without everyone thinking they were funny. I do wonder whether it might have made more sense to make Bob Marty rather than Jeff so he could have just gone full daft (same with Catterick where Bob mostly played the "straight man" type character and Jim got to enjoy himself with a number of absurd comedy caricatures.)
This is my favourite "This is my", it's really entertaining but also, as soon as Pauline walks out you think "Has Greg's mum walked out on stage by accident?"
Greg did a tour called ‘The back of my mums head’ and Pauline was on the poster so I knew straight away that was Greg’s mum, even though she wasn’t even facing front on it.
I genuinely don't see it. It may be obvious to you but not everyone sees such subtle family resemblances the way you can, unless it's blindingly obvious like two brothers or two sisters.
Rob Brydon has announced today that a new series of WILTY has been recorded and another is planned for next year. Whoopee!

Pauline makes a hilarious appearance (in photograph form) on an episode of Taskmaster, thanks to Rhod Gilbert.
I saw the Taskmaster episode before I saw this clip, so I knew going in 😂😂😂
That treacherous old woman!
Before clicking on the video, I saw the thumbnail and said to myself “why is Greg Davies mother in this video and where is her fez”
Now we see how he got the knickers in the washing before the curry and booze kick in
08:39 Bob has been in a detective show, the remake of "Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased)" alongside his comedy partner Vic Reeves.
Damn you beat me to it haha
Not on streaming in the UK 😢

@@AlmostYearly - Interesting. I'm old enough to remember the original Randall and Hopkirk on TV when I was a kid. Didn't see the remake.

I remember seeing this one for the first time and the second she walked out, I was like... that's definitely someone related to Greg.
As soon as I saw that you had posted this, out loud, alone in my house, I exclaimed, “Pauline!” 🤣 This is a great one!
"She's a treacherous old woman" 😅😅😅
Give her a fez
@@houseofproctor 😅😅
Give her a fez and stick her in the bath with bubbles. 😁
She does also appear in taskmaster but not until series 7 I believe.
I used to work in the small town Greg grew up in, and recognised Pauline when this episode first aired.
Well that's the ultimate cheat. Actually *knowing* the person.
If you watch Taskmaster when Rhod Gilbert is on you will see more of Pauline, a lot more actually, well worth watching.
Oh yes!😎 This one is awesome! I just know you guys are gonne love this story!😂
This was the easiest ever for me because well....she looks like Greg 😅
Greg actually did a comedy tour called "The Back of My Mums Head".
Argumental is brilliant 😂
This is my favourite "This is my", it's really entertaining but also, as soon as Pauline walks out you think "Has Greg's mum walked out on stage by accident?"
I wonder if Richard Osman was inspired by David's story to kick off his book "The Thursday Murder Club."
You have to do the Greg Davies stand up show, The Back Of My Mum’s Head. You won’t regret it.
Brilliant guys. 😅
Did nobody spot that Pauline and Greg look identical?
Greg is from my home town and I see Pauline around all the time, I have to admit we are a little strange in my town 😅
The season of Taskmaster where Rhod Gilbert is on you get to see Pauline. Also she appears in Greg’s episode of “Who Do You Think You Are?.
Lol😂 they have the same jaw line, i always think. This is the obvious one
Greg did a tour called ‘The back of my mums head’ and Pauline was on the poster so I knew straight away that was Greg’s mum, even though she wasn’t even facing front on it.
You obviously haven’t seen Taskmaster season 7 yet!😅
Are you guys blind? Look at the woman!! Who is she the spitting image of?
