Granola but please don't... 😅 Yes, that's been my favorite since I was a kid. We were allowed to eat the sugary junk but I wanted granola with raisins, dates, and almonds, or raisin bran. I was a weird kid.
Greg has long since established that he is not a trained bartender. Years of trial and error and research and hard work have really paid off. I have so much fun watching these episodes.
He's a self trained mad mixologist... Kinda like a mad scientist but instead of building a nuclear warhead in his garage out of old smoke detectors and pinball machine parts, he builds drinks.
Holy crap, he's not a trained bartender?? I'm new to the channel and this shocks me. He's so skilled and knowledgeable, and he has a great palate. Some people are just born with talent!
ikr! like as a pretty damn experienced bartender myself im always just blown away at how much better than me he is at just freestyling these concoctions while i need to do a bunch of notes and flavor pairings before i even start creating a cocktail
It’s a skill you can learn, for sure, it’s just all about knowing how flavours pair & how ingredients interact with eachother, it’s still always cool to watch :3
God. This all reminds me of my dad telling me what he lived off in college back in the 60's. Fried bologna, baby food jars, and cereal with beer in it. With what I know about my dad, I'm sure he absolutely did that.
My husband up and suggested "Apple Jack Daniels" as an option for a drink name. And darn it, now we have to buy a variety pack of cereal and experiment.
This season needs many of them. We need a cereal part 2, 90s drinks part 2 (maybe using something from all over the world or some different weird but newer carbonated drink) and definitely ice cream part 2! And they're kind of the only episodes so far, that's impressive.
I feel so much better after switching from coffee to orange juice in the morning. My doctor says it's because of the natural sugar and vitamin C ,but i think its the vodka.
You know, some of my favorite episodes are these build as you go ones. I love the experimentation, the trials. Watching a clean-cut build where you know what you're doing from the start is informative, but I am highly entertained watching you lay out your thought process even before the tasting notes.
I really thought you would have gone like a breakfast cereal coffee martini type of way with the Coco Puffs instead of the White-Russian+Scotch. Love watching you work Greg.
I could totally see an espresso martini and you could thematically fit it in with Sunny the cuckoo being always hyper and energetic -- it would absolutely come out delicious
I tried to make a chocolate orange shot last year...The triple sec didn't do much, so I added the smallest amount of blue curacao (because it was all I had), and it came out PURE Fruity Pebbles. I don't know how I managed to take that wide a left turn from what I was going for, but I sure did that thing.
When Meredith said "They're grreeaaattt" I absolutely lost my shit. Unholy snort laughter, it was just so unexpected... I suspect she's been hanging around Greg too much and the dad jokes have become contagious.
Eyyy you actually did a cocktail based on the Everglades, I remember asking for that a while ago on a previous National Parks drinks episode. Love that you went ahead with it and I can't wait to try it.
This may be the best episode I've seen. Absolutely nailed the cocktails and whoever does your editing is a genius. As a bartender who has, allegedly, made drinks intoxicated. I can say this is the funniest thing I've seen on RUclips in a very long time. Keep up the good work
Yes! I always am sucked in. They’re ALWAYS so great, even when it’s not the national parks series. I love Greg, and whoever is involved in helping keep the wheels on this show. Absolutely amazing dedication.
here's an idea, since this is a super interesting idea. Fruit cocktails...BUT, only rarer fruits. no apples or coconuts or lemons or limes (but they can be used, but not the main component). stuff like Star fruit, kumquats, cherimoya, all the unusual fruits you can get ahold of. I'd especially like to see kumquats, i llike them a lot.they're like eating pure orange zest.
I have no idea how the idea could be approached but an episode about dessert inspired cocktails would be really interesting. A drink with the flavor profiles of flan or tiramisu sounds amazing
Cinnamon Toast Crunch is called Cini Minis here in Europe and there is actually a Churros version now. Small, short Churro shapes with a bit more bite and therefore even more crunch to them. Doesn't get soggy so quick either so I prefer them over the base Cini Minis
My husband and I watch HTD weekly (we make drinks, it’s a whole thing) - this is my favorite episode in a long time. Super stoked to try some of these!
There's a bar in Vegas called I Love Sugar that serves candy-based drinks like a sour gummy worm margarita. I'd love to see an episode where you take that concept and try to elevate them beyond their tourist-tier gimmicks.
the other day I had an absolutely brilliant sour here in Prague at one of the best bars I’ve ever been to. Cream cheese, egg (white, I’m pretty sure), gin, lemonade, orange tinker, and a “biscuit” (really more of a homemade wafer stick) for garnish. It was spectacular. I would love to see you make something like it, and maybe play around with cream cheese, kefir, lassi, other interesting dairy products and/or fermented products.
I'm actually so glad to see you so happy and actually doing what you do best - experimenting, thinking on the fly, mixing and matching to bring out the most out of given pallet of flavours. Don't get me wrong, episodes with "tasting some ungodly crap" are funny, but this is just so... Pure, genuine, especially the excitment on 12:00
I had a coco puff soaked milk cocktail with bourbon (or maybe scotch) years and years ago at this brilliant resturant in Atlanta and I still dream of it. It was one of those cutting edge places like you said haha
I would love to see a follow up episode. I can't help but notice you didn't have any marshmallow cereal, and I once tried an experimental beer at the Great American Beer Festival that tasted just like Lucky Charms. Food for thought.
So I made macadamia nut milk so I could make the Hawaiian Mai Tai from a recent episode (delicious by the way). I mixed some with a little of a previous syrup I made that was made with maple syrup, ginger, cardamom, and cinnamon. For some reason it tasted exactly like Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal milk!
I love watching this channel when I’m still slightly hungover from the night before just to get me in the mood for a drink again. Thank you for enabling my crippling alcoholism! This is only half of a joke, it hasn’t become crippling yet
For the YabbaDabbaDaiquiri, you *could* use the Mrs Butterworth's Fruity Pebbles flavoured pancake syrup to rim the glass... although I think it tastes more like Fruity Pebbles cough syrup than a pancake topper.
Only this guy can come up with a 10/10 drink on the fly and appropriately name it "The Breakfast of the GODS" Keep doin' what you're doin' Greg, this is bonafide edutainment right here.
This episode is proof the Greg is a great mixologist! He knows what flavors work well together and is able to create something new using past experiences!
you were on a roll today wow, all of those were super interesting. Not only was the concept interesting, but the drink making was like watching an alchemist create a truly mad scientists concoction
... ok this feels like it's gonna escalate, how long before Greg's trying to combine cocktails with classic dishes like a Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes-Colada, or a Rueban-ini? Actually saying that I am now remember James May's attempts to make a Full English Breakfast infused with his own Gin (didn't work out as well as the Cock-o-Gin or Fish & Chips in Gin Batter did).
Potential part 2 Recommendations: - a Cement Mixer with Grape Nuts; Grape Nuts already turn into concrete if you leave them in milk - Lucky Charms Irish Car Bomb - maybe something with Kahlua and Cocoa Pebbles, maybe some kind of a Mudslide - maybe an Old Fashioned with Honey Nut Cheerios - maybe an Appletini with Applejacks - Booberry Blueberry Daquiri - You could probably do a lot with making various cereal milks, as well as infusing the cereal in alcohol (my initial thought was cheerios in like mead or something), you could probably even ferment a lot of these if you really tried (the main ingredients are just sugar and some kind of grain)
Really enjoyed this episode!!! What about a cocktail topped up with Guinness and Reese’s Puffs floating on the foam? I would also love to see one with amaretto, maybe Count Chocula with that!
Just made a Yaba-daba Daiquiri and a Pop-Culture, both were really good! Tomorrow, we will be trying Breakfast of the God's and a Scotch Sunny. I would have gone for all four but I wanted to taste them properly. Gonna have to get a Captain Krunk at some point as well. Bought mini bowls singles for each of the cereals.... 😋
Always got cool stuff going on each episode. Think I might have to do the drink that incorporated the Cinnamon Toast Crunch……maybe with some tweaks. I’d love to see Greg make a cocktail book of his favorite cocktails that have been made throughout the course of the show. If that happens I’d so get that book😂
If you're looking for something that tastes like Froot Loops, it's bergamot. No joke! My kiddos asked me to make Earl Grey macarons with lemon curd in the middle and not only were they really good, they 100% tasted exactly like Froot Loops. It's the bergamot!
This was so cool!! Would love to see more of these!! I'm not sure if you have already bc I'm a newer viewer, but what if other common snacks- oreos, doritos, fruit snacks, ect?
Cookie Crisps and some of the other Cap’n Crunch flavors like Berries and Oops! All Berries are some of my other favorite cereals. I’m very interested to see what else you come up with if you do a part 2! I will definitely be trying all of these when I get a chance!
Random aside... when Greg was pouring out the Cocoa Puffs and talking about the progression of ants to spiders to snakes and mongoose, it made me think of Futurama where New New York is infested with the owls that were introduced to deal with the rat problem.... On that note, best of luck in your home buying process Greg and family. 😊
It'd be interesting to see what you do with Lucky Charms. The main thing I will forever remember about them is that, despite all the colors in them, if you let them sit in the milk, the milk turns green.
I love watching this. Whatever else anyone might say, no one can argue Greg isn't really genuinely trying to make something good here. It might not work, but damn he's trying.
I dunno about everyone else, but I would *love* to see a general follow-up episode where his bartender-viewers share which of Greg's crazy creations have shown up on their menus, and how people have reacted to it.
feels very weird to be excited for an ad spot but I LOVE the yellowstone sponsored segments! it's a bonus drink but it's also a really nice segment that I genuinely enjoy watching. I'm always excited for another national park inspired drink 🍻
You have GOT to make cocktails with Oreo O’s, Reese’s Puffs, and Lucky Charms. Cookie Crisp and Count Chocula too! Or heck, even Boo Berry and Frankenberry for a spoopy special! It has been ordained!
So what's your favorite cereal, should I make a drink out of it?

Greg really is an artist with his ability to create brand new drinks on the fly with basically no preparation.
He could actually be the head bartender at a nerdy little avant-garde bar if that was something he wanted to do.

He's definitely refined his skills. It's like cooking, but just with a funny hat.
@@CappucinoBomb varies episode to episode, tbf. these appear to very much be on the fly ones tho
This episode has big "I'm an adult and no one can stop me" energy.
It's crazy to see Greg become momentarily very sober once he provides the tasting notes on the Scotch Sonny.
I look forward to the October episode where Greg makes cocktails with the monster cereals.
Upping and commenting to bring this to the top
this needs to happen
Especially with that new monster cereal coming out, the apple one
Count Chocula is king!
I want this in my life.

Potential part 2 Recommendations:
- a Cement Mixer with Grape Nuts; Grape Nuts already turn into concrete if you leave them in milk
- Lucky Charms Irish Car Bomb
- maybe something with Kahlua and Cocoa Pebbles, maybe some kind of a Mudslide
- maybe an Old Fashioned with Honey Nut Cheerios
- maybe an Appletini with Applejacks
- Booberry Blueberry Daquiri
- You could probably do a lot with making various cereal milks, as well as infusing the cereal in alcohol (my initial thought was cheerios in like mead or something), you could probably even ferment a lot of these if you really tried (the main ingredients are just sugar and some kind of grain)
