This is an easy origami model I filmed this video from the viewer Point of View and in Real Time, so that it's easier to follow and to make the origami along with me.

Time needed: around 5 minutes.
This wrapping is perfect for cylinder gift boxes.

I have a natral talent for wrapping stuff but even I didn't know got to wrap my cylinder, thanks for the video, the method works just try to keep it in one spot and not let the cylinder move too much after initial measurements. That's where you might mess up, and if you do don't panic just pull the tape off.

You are right! The cylindrical shape ( Candle in my case ) kept slipping and sliding while making the folds etc :P
It's a little hard at first but not impossible :) Simple steps as shown in the video :)

I had 7 candles to wrap. Once or twice I had to discard the wrapping paper because of all the creases and wrinkles I made on the paper :P
Practise and you will see it's really simple to do.
The process is very simple , just as shown in this fabulous video :)
But my last triangular fold on the candles' sides never came out neat enough :P all was okay , but I just could not get the the last part right :P
Maybe next time I practise this I'll get it perfect :D *Lovely Video! Thank You!*
Edit : I have realised that my measurements were messed up! I had too much overlapping of wrapping paper :/ Next time I'll take care of this! 😊

"Half the diameter on both sides" wasn't clear. The radius of the end added to the diameter?

Basically, you need to take the paper up to halfways the top and bottom. It would be easier though to just measure 1 side completely if the gift is a symmeterical cylinder.
